the dodgers had the best record in the NL. The rockies were the wild card team and the giants were runner up for wild card. So the west had 3 of the top 5 teams in the NL. How exactly does that make the west weaK?

Starting pitching has been the problem all year and was magnified in the Phillies series. It wasn't an unknown problem but the approach to solving it was just patchwork. It is time to bring in an ace through free agency, and a solid number 3 or 4 guy. That, plus a productive Russell Martin, will take the Dodgers to the World Series. However, I think Martin should be trade bait for the number 3 or 4 guy in the rotation. His batting average and power outage really hurt, and his average (at best) arm is not tossing out many runners any more. He needs to go while he still has value.

Nice year, that's all....Joe Torre, just like Tom Lasorda are the most overrated managers of all time...anyone could have won with the teams Lasorda had or Torre had with the Yankees...Remember, with all the talent Torre had, his Yanks did nothing big from 2001-2007...Vinnie (Scully) could have managed those Yankee teams and won....Jim Tracy should still be the Dodger manager...What a bum deal he got!!! Had the Dodgers played in the other 2 National League divisions, they would not have made the playoffs...The Rockies were a better ball club and look who the manager was....

You forgot option four: Fans who show up before the fourth inning.

They choked up with the big boys. The west is a weak division and the Dodgers usually keep up in the reg season, but in the post season with the rest of the league the Dodgers can't hold a candle. WHY-why-why- I am so frustrated
