I, too, am a Massage Therapist (female). In my experience, most clients prefer females to work on them.....and I agree with the reasons cited by my fellow therapist, above. A great pair of hands & the knowledge behind them are attached to both male AND female therapists and I would hope that more clients will begin to realize this. Until this happens, however, Hercules is right...what's important is that folks continue to get regular massages as the benefits are MANY!!
I have been a massage therapist for over 20 years and this is always question that comes up. Of course most of the people I see are women, however this is a questions that I get asked a lot. From my experience a majority of the time people are more inclined to go with a female therapist. For women it is an issue of safety and trust and for males (which it could be the same thing as well depending on how you look at it) it really comes down to a homophobic reason. Whatever your reasons maybe, just remember to get your massages. The benefits from a massage are many on so many levels.
