Incidentally, I just voted two more times simply by going back (in Safari) and clicking "vote" again...

Also, I was being extremely pedantic about "proven". Any such deity would have to be utterly ineffable -- its effects indistinguishable from those of mutation, selection and drift.

It can't really be proven that no god guided the process, but it obviously wasn't an omnipotent _and_ omniscient _and_ omnibenevolent one. Two words: Stupid Design.

The question of whether a god was involved or not in our development as a species does not affect the simple fact that humans, biologically, are *still* apes. We may or may not be vessels for immortal souls, but these vessels are absolutely, undeniably, ape bodies. Our hands and faces whisper "ape;" our bones say "ape;" our DNA screams "ape." The only way this fact can be denied is by willfully ignoring the mounting evidence, with hands over eyes... hands over ears: "See no truth, hear no truth, speak no truth..."

Pharyngula rules, creationists drool. That is all.
