The language of Ezekial 38,39 seem fairly clear to me. The Biblical names of the nations engaging in the End-Times attack on Israel are easily connected to the modern names of those nations....but then I read the Bible for what it says rather than engage in allegorical fancy.
I guess those 13% are our pre-mil brethren.
Question for first comment: Does the Bible actually say Russia in Ezekiel? Also, the Scriptures were written to the hearers of that time and for their benefit. We (the modern reader) can benefit through proper exegesis and application, but to transfer what the Biblical writer was saying or prophesying to our time is just bad hermenuetics. Why would the Lord have a prophet or apostle say something to their particular audience that was only relevant to hearers thousands of years later? It just does not make sense. Let's keep things in context and not engage in newspaper eisegesis.
If AV had instead asked "Do most evangelicals believe that the Bible predicts that Russia will attack Israel?" then the figures would be completely reversed.
Interesting poll; but all it really does is illustrate which subset of evangelicals visit the AV website.
Perhaps that's the point. And why not?
The Bible predicts that (Spiritual) Israel will be attacked by barbarians. This began in the 1960s when Satan was released from his prison. At that time, sin was declared to right and right was declared to be sin, showing the world that he was released. This was a watch-call to true believers that a great judgement was near.
