McCain lost as soon as he picked Palin.
Obama appeared more presidential and in touch with the issues.
McCain was always likely to loose. He was never liked by the Republican party base. Picking Palin was the smartest thing he ever did. It was just not enough to overcome the negatives of the war, debt, bailout and the potential collapse of the American economy during the Republican watch.
More to the point of the question: If you haven't made up your mind about who you are voting for by now, you're too stupid to vote. Poll tax should have been replace by a simple I.Q. test. Idiots need not apply to vote.
