I only say Obama won because McCain is so completely full of shit. The whole thing was hard to watch.
That was the final mail in the coffin for McCain.
McCain keeps repeating "listen, my friends" and "as so and so said' -- as if by mentioning past President's names he gains some kind of magic authority. I think he's really out of touch with this world...would be much better finishing off his days on the golf course.
John McCain is nobody's "friend" if I hear him end a sentence with my friend one more time I'm going to move to Canada.
It's absolutely sad for me to watch the utmost supidity shown by all those Americans who somehow have been blinded by Obama, the Manchurian Candidate. I know; I've been here almost 70 years and have seen plenty! It's inconceivable that we are in the 21st century, have the Internet and so many other information channels to research our candidates, and yet all these Obama followers don't have the initiave (or brains) to inform themselves. McCain represents our true American values and has the experience (perfect or not) wheeras Obama is a Muslim radical who will ruin us in the end. They shuld leave aside their preferred party and face the TRUE facts.
I was very disappointed in Obama's performance. Almost everything he said was shot down by McCain, and most of his own comebacks were flimsy at best. I have to give this one to McCain, hands down.
I think John McCain won the debate and told the true story, Obama just doesn't get it!
I'm amazed by the shallowness of our media. They are considering it weak that McCain left early. Seriously, is this middle school. Our media needs to quit "analyzing" things. My 6 year old can analyze anything, our media needs to quit brainwashing our opinions and let us decide who is best for our nation.
Yikes! Colette, you really want to perpetuate character assassination by supporting the notion that Barack Obama is a Muslim extremist? Not even the most extreme conservative, people like Sean Haggerty and Bill O'Reilly would forward this notion. This is because your claim has been thoroughly debunked, not just in the so called liberal media, but also in the conservative media. There is no credence to the charge and no honor or integrity in repeating it.
Obama was much more relaxed - presidential. McCain was edgy - like a dictator.
Well, I'm not going to say who won, but... in your picture, you make both candidates look very unattractive!
Colette Mcniff, what did you sniff? Obama is NOT a muslim. He is, however, a professor of constitutional law. Hopefully he can bring back all of the constitutional rights that have been stolen away under the current White House occupant.
McCain lurched around like an automaton... creepy! "Steady hand"? McCain? Is he serious? McCain seemed ready to throw a spring and come unglued at any moment. That was scary.
There is no contest. McCain is truthful - he's spent his entire life serving this country, putting this country first. In these times we need a leader that believes in and knows how to sacrifice for this great country. You can look at McCains record and see what he has done - people should be judged by their actions. Obama is dangerous individual that has close affiliations with anti-American people. It is easy to talk a good game - but real substance what matters. It is sad to see how the media spins everything toward Obama - my hope is that the American people are smart enough to see the truth.
Senator Obama has the judgment and temperament to be our president. McCain's vote to invade Iraq and his pick of Sarah Palin show his lack of judgment. Both choices have catastrophic results. I am a 67 year old white women and Obama is the best person I have ever had a chance to vote for for president. He is cool, reassuring and wise. That we should be blessed with someone of this quality to vote for is amazing to me. Just his election will help get us back into the world community that has already voted for him!
Obama won, hands down... and if I hear the "Manchurian" stuff one more time... well, it's just ridiculous. Yes, Colette, it is the 21st century, and you are imploring everyone to use the internet, although your candidate has no clue how to use it himself... doesn't even know how to answer an e-mail..... yep, that's being in touch... "you betcha (wink!)" More important is McCain's years of experience... if he really saw any of this coming, and was in a position of power all those years, then why didn't he fix it before it happened?! If he really realized it was as serious as he claims, then why didn't he call a press conference!
McCain not only won in policy, but along with other hard working Americans he kept working. He spent time taking notes staying on target. I was disappointed that neither candidate pointed out that the bill that relaxed lending practices in the US was actually signed by Bill Clinton in his last few months in office. So, the reality is the democrats policies are at the root of the housing market crisis. McCain also suspended is campaign to take care of his responsibilities in Washington. Again character and record speaks louder than campaign promises.
Sarah Palin is a real person - another honest individual who has worked hard and enacted change - not just talked about it. John McCain picking her shows foresight and true commitment to change. It easy to criticize and complain - leading is the hard part. Obama has no problem criticizing but I have yet to see him lead. There is more to being president then looking the part.
Thank you fletch and Dibble for correcting the sadly misguided person who was repeating the untrue garbage about Obama that has been thoroughly debunked. I give this one to Obama because of his command of the issues, his recognition of the struggles of the common people and his confindent smooth style. McCain did improve from the last debate, but when he came real close to the man in the audience - it really creeped me out. If it was me, I may have had to get up and run.
Terry, Your post contains every cliched line I've heard from Republicans since the end of the primaries. What did you see in the DEBATE that influenced your view? You never really talked about that.. . . . . . I thought Obama edged out McCain, mainly because he tended to give more specifics in the responses that focused on questions asked. (personally I thought both were over the top with responses that DIDN'T stick to the question, though I think McCain went a bit further into this pit than Obama did.) I thought McCain could have been a little less long-winded and more to the point on the "discussion" responses. I also found McCain did more to reiterate false or misleading information about Obama. I did appreciate that McCain did have at least SOME of his facts straight, though, which was much better than Palin's very poor attempts last week.

i THINK aMERICAN ARE REALLY NAIVE TO VOTE FOR A BLACK MOSLEM TO RUN OUR GREAT COUNTRY I AM SO SAD FOR OUR FUTURE
Sorry for the multiple posts!!!!!
obama is ok but they are both capitalist puppets
Was leaning toward Obama, but after tonight's debate have decided to vote for McCain. Obama might be ok in twenty years but his youth and inexperience showed tonight. We need someone with experience in these troubled times.
Obama was clearly the better informed, more articulate candidate. McCain kept repeating he same odd phrases over and over " my friends, i can do this job.. I will solve the problem..." but McCain gave absolutely no substance. He was a doddering old man.

I think Obama is better equipped to get the US out of the mess we're in. McCain is too similar to Bush on too many critical issues; we can't afford four more years of this. Obama will bring real change and will help those who actually need it, not give tax breaks to high flyers who ran the economy over the reefs in the first place. Obama's health plan to insure more people includes introducing regulations that force insurers to deal more honestly with policy holders - I didn't know that until tonight's debate. And what is McCain's big plan? To destroy affordable employer group plans (by TAXING them) and to drive us further down the road of the free market approach - which only leaves more sick people at the mercy of unscrupulous, unsympathetic insurance companies ... well, those who can afford health insurance in the first place. Enough is enough.
Mave - if you think I would base my vote for President on a debate your mistaken. In my life I've learned that what people tell me isn't always the way that it is. So I look at peoples actions, their records, the people they surround themselves with - that allow me to see who they really are. Having said that in this debate - I though McCain's responses were great. I think he pointed out where Obama was lacking and lying and I appreciate that. McCain had substance behind him - he wasn't just standing there in a fancy suit telling the American people the things they wanted to hear - he was telling them his truths, his ideas, and why those things were best. When he connected with that Veteran - I thought that was a great moment - and best of all it was real.
McCain won - Obama is just an eloquent nothing, which he demonstrated one more time. It is amazing how the Americans allow this arrogant politician to deceive them with empty words. All he has is a good campaign team (unlike McCain unfortunately). McCain is too good and too decent to fight Obama in the way he should be fought! What did Obama actually accomplish (not for himself - but for his country) in his almost 50 years? He is always presented like a young boy kind of a wonderchild - but he is quite an adult - where is a list of his deeds? We came to this country almost 18 years ago and considered it the best in the world! If Obama God forbids becomes a president it will mean that America we love is lost - and shame will fall on all of us. " If I don't know something I'll ask Michelle because she knows" - that's what you want, blind Obama supporters? They are laughing at you together - and we'll cry together if he gets the Office.
You mean like McCains actions resulting in his censure for the keating 5 scandal? the scandal that led to another huge government bailout? or maybe his years of experiance that led him to saythat the economy was fine. strong even, then have to "suspend" his campaign two weeks later to stave of the financial apocalypse? The bill that clinton signed before leaving office? hmmn, who drafted that bill? tell me, what party was in control of the legislative branch at that time?
I only say McCain won because Obama is so completely ful of air.
Sen McCain has been in office for over "26" years and what have he done for you are me? What have he done for this country? Lets get real. You all that want to put McCain in the White House, please ask yourselves what have he done for you in "26" years? Why is he running for President now? If you are not a millionaire you are probably living from pay check to pay check, and numerous credit cards. Most people who vote Republican and trick you into voting Republican are very rich. They get tax breaks, have health care, life insurance, retirement plans, stocks, bonds, share certificates, money marketing account and so on. Ask yourselves "What do you have"? What do your retirement plan look like? Is all you got to look forward to is social security? Then you need to support Sen Obama. Listen. God is sending someone to help us all. Please believe me when I tell you this. God is giving you the opportunity to choose someone that as a Christian, you can see that God has his hand all over Sen Obama. He is here to help us all who need that one big break. I believe that if you vote for Obama, God will open up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that you won't have room enough to receive. Why do you think people are registering to vote and large numbers and some of voting for the first time? I don't know what else I can tell you. God Love You, I LOVE YOU AND SEN OBAMA AND BIDDEN LOVE YOU. I cannot believe anyone would want to see Palin become the next VP, when she's creating so much hatred. People saying "Kill Him" at her Rally. Is this what you want for this Country, to come more divided, when the children of all race are getting alone so well. We are trying to come together as one people. That's the only way we are going to get in Heaven. Thank You.
Personally, if I hear "My Friend" one more time come out of McCain's mouth, I'm going to scream! McCain is nothing more than a watered down Bush. All he's trying to do now is distant himself from his prior support for Bush's last eight years of screw-ups. McCain again showed that his judgment in foreign police and domestic/economic policy is flawed. (Just look who he chose for his running mate.) People still try to put forth the claim that Obama is a Muslim. I'm not surprised that one such individual that still makes this silly claim is 70 years old. This person claims to the right to decide what "true American values" are. Thank God this pathetic old way of seeing things is dieing out with them. Obama won this debate and the majority of the American people are beginning to come around to the realization that old prejudices and biases are going to be challenged and done away with like the "Old South" was. Obama is the breath of fresh air that this country needs. (Not the old stale "Pale and Male" of the past. People should stop fearing new ways and ideas, and accept that they live in a world made up of countries, peoples and cultures different from the "American Way." As Obama stated; "America is at it's greatest when it leads by the strength of it's example, rather than by it's example of it's (military) strength."
McCain was more endearing personal and got his point across. I just cant put my vote behind anyone who pals around with so so so so many nepharious characters. I cant vote for a man whos been endorsed by terrorists all over the world. He is untruthful about his relationships and I cant wait to see his education plan-he needs to explain this new CAC BOD directive from Ayers in the Annenberg files about spreading radicalism-is this our new education reform? Obama cannot be trusted in my opinion, McCain is proven and has shown by his past sacrifices that he will put his country first-Obama has not even completed his first term as Senator.
ctaylor- Could you elaborate on your posting? What do you mean by Obama being "endorsed by terrorist"? What relationships has he been untruthful about? And I'd really like to know what you mean by "CAC BOD directive form Ayers in the Annenberg files"? This all sounds like some of the conspiracy theories that I hear from the ranting ultra-conservative right-wing radio talk-show hosts. If I was to play the same game Palin and her ilk play, it would go something like this.... I'd like McCain to explain why he's made several trips to Viet-Nam over the years and is paling around with the very people that were supposedly "torturing' him all those years he was allegedly held prisoner. (The same people that were responsible for the deaths of thousands of our brave American fighting men.) If this "prison" was such a bad place; Why did they call it the "Hanoi Hilton". It makes me wonder....Maybe there should be an investigation into what is really going on when he's claims to be having "trade" talks with the Vietnamese Government. I also think Palin should be investigated to find out why she has been living so close to Russia all these years. Any REAL TRUE PATRIOTIC AMERICAN would move as far away from that "evil empire", as fast as they could. In addition; Is Palin really the Christian she claims to be? After all, she lives so close to that "Godless" country. Close enough to make her an expert on foreign affairs and qualified by virtue of the fact that she "can see them from her house" to be our next vice-president or president if old McCain should bite the dust. Wow! You know, after rethinking things.... I think I'll reevaluate my choice of who I'll vote for this November. I'm sure that the Russians would just love to see the McCain/Palin ticket swept to victory. ;-)
I understand clearly now why McCain chose Palin as his running mate, because clearly he is as well versed in double speak as she is. McCain definitely lost the debate. He did not point to any specifics about what he would actually do. All he did was throw out a few cliches and try to keep his diaper from squeaking while he walked. McCain clearly showed his favoritism towards corporations and big business and opposes higher taxes on the rich, because his wife would probably lose money and then he'd have to see what it feels like to suffer like the rest of us. We are entering into a slave nation while only a select few have enough money to afford a decent life and this needs to change immediately. Obama clearly stated his case, and although I would have liked to have seen more passion from him, I believe he will serve the people and not the corporations. He stays calm under pressure and remains diplomatic while McCain gets cranky and continues to punch when he should be calm and collected. I feel confident in Obama's passion for wanting to bring about positive change and Biden's experience there to back him up. I am terrified of McCain's ill health and the thought of Sarah Palin taking over as President. McCain lacks self-control and comes across as a crotchety old man. Sarah Palin is dumber than George Bush and that scares me half to death. She is not capable of being President. I sadly feel that those who are against Obama at this point are against him because they are either so conservative they don't want to let go of their outdated beliefs or they are blinded by his color and cannot get past it. Any rational human being can clearly see that he is the only solid choice.
I'm a strong McCain supporter but I think Obama won. McCain just seems to be getting older every day. And more tired. I think this debate may be the end for my man McCain. Obama just looks so much younger and vital. I love McCain, but he seems to be running out of ideas. I can't believe that a Republican is talking about buying all the houses in the US. That was CRAZY! I want my free market, John! I've been telling everyone that McCain is the better way to go, but after tonight, I just don't know what to say. The attempts at jokes were really bad.
Mccain has way more knowledge no question about it, obama lives in a dream world and his policies will not work
Calm, cool and collected vs. angry grumpy and rude. The next four years is going to be hell for whoever wins. I, personally, prefer someone who's got his sh*t together. Did I have to name which was which? Yea.. that's my point. Pretty obvious.
It is truly tragic for a great country to see how people are persuaded by ima and words. Most comment on how they sound or look. Ideology aside, McCain is not youthful or as eloquent or as attractive, but he has the record of action to prove his courage, his love, loyalty and smartness all which he has dedicated all his life to the good of this country. In a time of emergency, we should be smart and go with the guy with the guts and courage to tackle tough issues without being ideological. McCain is that man. I mean look how many democrats praise him and have teamed up withhim to sponsor legislative solutions. I think it is bad form to insult this man like many do even if you vote against him. McCain is in physical pain daily for the horrendous torture he underwent some of it by choosing to stay a prisoner to let other soldiers be releases and to keep US secrets. Then, he survives, returns and remakes his entire life in a way that he continues to serve his country in a different area. On top of that, McCain first initiative is to lead the normalization of relations with Vietnam without bitterness to his former torturer. To me, this is a man of true compassion, character and loyalty to the idea of America. He is exactly what we need at this tough time in our history, a warrior, with toughness. But, to me if we are not going to vote for McCain one should not be calling him names or focus on silly surface stuff. Vote for Obama if you will, but we hurt ourselves by tearing down this great man. Most of us enjoy comfortable lives in comparison to what McCain went through and who amongst us is ready to make that type of sacrifice? awe have thousands of soldiers in harms way right now. We need to give this man his respect; he has certainly earned it.
Obama won the debate, with his clear concise answers. Mccain seemed lost and paced around like an angry animal in a cage .
McCain says what people want to hear but he is really a front man for corporate interests who have been using the 'American Worker' like throwaway servants for the last eight years. Obama seems genuine and smart. He is strong on defense and has a realistic outlook on healthcare and the economy. Two thumbs up for Obama.
McCain couldn't hold himself together, let alone the US. Obama knows what he wants to do and how to do it, McCain is a Bush 2.0
* McCain won because B Hussein-0 is such a liar.
McCain won simply because just like during the primaries.. Obama is all rhetoric, no actual plans.. I liked that McCain had many specifics.. I liked how he called Obama out on being the 2nd highest (ever) receiver of pac money from freddy/fannie .. This was within the 1st year or so of Obama being elected.. Look at Obama's history.. what position has he held for more than 2-3 years? He's a self entitled elitist "Job Hopper" .. be lucky there's not a higher position than president as it seems he'd quit 1/2 way thru his first term just to start trying to get that job.. does no one else see that he's all speech, nothing else? He fumbles around during the debates because these ideas arent his.. Its easy to read a nice pretty worded speech off a teleprompter.. but think on his feet? Why? Isnt he entitled to this job? We're just going thru the motions right? I think that O in his name is really a zero.. 0 Experience 0 Plans for anyone but his future 0 debate wins 0bama
the MAIN reason i would NEVER want McCain to become president is SARAH PALIN. God, how can she EVER be elected as vice president.....even the thought is scary.
Obama won easily. Polised, well-mannered self-confident, quick-thinking, suave, with presidential gravitas and erudition. McCain appeared stiff, old, arrogant and frighteningly ignorant, insultingly repeating platitudes about American exceptionalism.
All Obama followers : Obama is scary. He has no spine on foreign policy, frightening. And the economy, gee whiz, it's a no no in economics 101. Please wake up from your hypnotic state
Everyone is concerned with the status of our economy, and rightly so, but does anyone even care about the morality issues that our country is facing? If America once again becomes the most prosperous nation in the world, and loses it's soul, then what did it benefit us? When the world sees nothing wrong with approving lifestyles that promote sexual diseases, and feeding into their lustful , sinful desires, something is wrong. killing innocent unborn children simply because they are still in their mothers womb is acceptable, but let a new infant be abused, killed, or abandoned and watch the hiprocrates suddenly come out of the woodwork. Tell the new mom to be, who didn't get pregnant out of wedlock, that the heartbeat she hears on the ultrasound means nothing. Tell her not to feel emotion for her child, simply because it hasn't come out yet. Tell her its not a real human as of yet. Let's get real folks. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that a man and women were purposely created to complement each other in marraige, and childbirth, yet people want to destroy the obvious God given definition of marraige between a man and woman. This country was founded on pure Christian principles, yet suddenly that's not good enough anymore, and look at the results. There's more corruption, and perversion than ever before. What once was unacceptable to say, watch, or do, is now acceptable. Premarital sex is promoted more then ever before, yet we wonder what to do about so many teenage pregnancies. The leadership today are pushing for a world without God, and morality. No one seems to care if it's right or wrong. What we are witnessing is the results of a nation that has lost its way. Money, and senualism is our God today. You get what you reap. Until America returns back to the values that made this nation great to begin with, we are headed for more trouble. Now let me ask, how many questions do you hear in the debates about these issues? None. You can't solve the worlds problems from the outside in, it starts from the inside out. America has lost its convictions, and we need it back fast. On that note, does it concern anyone that Obama fervantly approves, and promotes, legislation against these core values. He might have some bandaids for Americas economy, but that won't stop the bleeding heart of a nation who has turned its back on God. And for those who claim to be Christians, and have no conviction about voting for a man, and political party, who's representing, and pushing for everything that God is against, shame on you. Read your bibles. Know what God's word says, and see if your candidate for president falls in line with it. You will give an account for the choices you made one day. This life, and our world is more than just about the economy in case you didn't know. I know some folks may say, that I sound like some religous nut, but I'd prefer to be a religous nut, than a nonreligous nut, who has no conviction at all. Repent America! It's not too late.
I would be embarrassed to say I backed an ignorant, unqualified, inexperienced socialist like Barack Hussein Obama. This empty suit has been able to dupe so many ignorant, illiterates that he is actually suitable for the toughest job in the world. He is not qualified to shine Senator McCain's shoes let alone lead this great country. Last night he bobbed and weaved like an inexperienced boxer, totally ignored several of Senator McCain's most damaging charges, exhibited total ignorance of sound economic policy and blew the horn for outright socialism in healthcare. His answer to threats from Korea, Iran and Russia is to sit down with these countries' leaders without any preconditions. They laugh at the prospect of dealing with this donkey eared dufus who has already announced he is going to cut our weapons development. They know exactly what he is, an over coached, memorized dupe of the left and playing right into their hands. Do you notice who backs this ass in the upcoming election? He is backed by the street people, illiterate college students, illegal immigrants who he is helping to register to vote, leftist college professors and psychotic Bush haters who still think Gore and Kerry were robbed of the presidency. Handing this slimeball the presidency would be like granting Adolf Hitler a posthumous Medal Of Honor.
I had hope that McCain would put up a better fight this time, but once again I was rather dissappointed. My family was going to vote Republican until the debates, McCain has proven himself imcompetent, whether it be caused by his age or his general lack of knowledge, one this is certain... I'm voting for Obama/Biden.
Neither of them choked, but McCain is on the right side of the issues, and as McCain pointed out, Obama has the most liberal budget-busting voting record in the Senate, not what we need in this economy, or any economy. And they never touched on Obama’s disturbing political associations, so check into them by googling Obama Odinga, Obama Ayers, Obama Khalidi, Obama Mansour, Obama Auchi, Obama Rezko, Obama Sutton, Obama Talbot, Obama Farrakhan, Obama Khaddafi, and ACORN Obama, to show that Obama is a horrible fit for the presidency. Go McCain/Palin!
McCain won for sure. He provided facts, connected with people and showed his experience. Obama just talks, says what people want to hear but does not explain how to do them.
There's a lot of talk, everywhere about Sen. McCain being old, about Palin not being ready to be the President and that she'd be "one heartbeat" away from it... about McCain not knowing how to type an email or use a computer. The fact is he's older yes, but wiser and stronger and has lived through more than Obama ever will. And why doesn't he use a computer much? It's not that he doesn't know how, it's that his hands were nearly ruined by being tortured. Obama has a lot of support around this country... that's for certain. He also has a past filled with "winning"... winning because he was the only candidate on the ballot because his "helpers" made sure the other candidate were kicked off. He has a shady past and cannot be trusted. He talks about his amazing rise to the top from humble beginnings when in all reality, he's a rich man who went to an ivy-league school whose wife got a $300000+/year job due to his connections. Nice... but not something I can identify with as a normal, middle-class American. I don't care about age or race or being part of the "cult of personality". I don't need to join Obama's cult. I want someone who has continuously served this country. Someone I can trust... in as much as you can trust any politician. That someone is McCain. He's a veteran and a maverick. Obama is a wanna be star who doesn't have the skill or experience to lead this country. Maybe if he spends some more time in the Senate and gains some wisdom over time, he could run again... but right now, he's simply not ready. As for Palin, she may not be 100% ready either... but she's not the one running for the highest seat in the country... she's running for VP, not President. Someday, after serving with McCain, I believe she could be a strong candidate for President... perhaps against Sen. Clinton... which I believe would be a good race. As one final note, all of this is being typed by a Democrat. This will be the first time in my life I've voted for a Republican. I just can't handle having an inexperienced, potentially socialist President who, by his own admission, takes on whatever characteristics he needs to, letting others put whatever they'd like to hear into his words. He's manipulative, smart, cunning, but manipulative.
McCain is clearly old and washed up. the man is 72 yrs old for goodness sake! Tryina be somebody's president. he needs to spend the rest of his days in one of his 7 or 8 houses drinking lemonade with his feet propped up. He's akward and sneaky. If u noticed, b4 he danced around every question, he attacked obama. how tacky. Im convinced the old hag gets botox in his face (the man's expression never changes) just like his young babe who parades around in 50k dollar dresses while we the people are losing our jobs and homes at an alarming rate. Bottom line. McCain's goal is to help the rich get richer and leave the middle class and poor to suffer mercifully. And if i hear one more of you blinded McCain supporters say Barack is a muslim one more time I'll scream! Give America a change to change for the better. Is this not the land of opportunity? Its time for a change for the better. Men like Bush, men like McCain...look at what they do us? We have lost respect from many of our allies because of men like this. Were we not the most respected force in the world?! WAKE UP PEOPLE!! if McCain is elected into office...god help us all because if u think this country is doin bad now...u beter get ready. Obama and Biden is great in 08!!
I think John McCain did a great job of answering the questions and did well staying on track. Not as charismatic as Obama, but has a good strong foundation and will to offer to the US. Obama did ok, but many times just wanted to justify himself or talk about his own plans rather than focus on the question. Actions speak louder than words.
Amy, perhaps you could move to Vietnam instead of Canada. Im sure no one would mind, and you could stay in Sen. McCain's old cell. Im sure you would be nice and comfortable,,,,, my friend!
Senator Obama is an intelligent, articulate man that would represent the country very well. McCain is a great American and one who should be respected for his miltary service, but that doesnt mean he should be president. Barack Obama would return America's dignity and begin a tremendous healing process. Don't people realize the very same group that sat behind George Bush is the same people sitting behind McCain? Is that really what you want?
The problem with McCain is he was also saying my friend. I swear McCain and Bush are related. They talk exactly the same. McCain also didnt know how to answer some of the questions. All he really wanted to talk about was the war. McCain was walking around the stage like a creepier. He needs a day job. Obama knew exactly how to answer the questions. I also agreed with everything he said. He understands what people want and need these days. Great job to Obama. Poor job to McCain. Obama 08
George, McCain committed adultery for years on his wife. Some christian believe that if your wife is still alive and your remarry, that you are living in adultery. And you cannot hold Obama responsible for the sins of the world. Oh yea, why did God sent his some Jesus? You read the bible. Because my bible say that our sins are forgiven. We have salvation, God's grace and mercy. He said go and sin no more. To all of you that want to say he is a Muslin, what are you KKK members? or some other radical group. You people are pitiful. We got troops of all race willing to give there lives for you and you all are still racist pigs. Make God have mercy on your souls. A dear friend of my recently died. Before she died she went into a coma and when she woke up she told her family that she had went to hell. She told them that she don't want to go there and neither do they. She lived a few days long to get things in order and she slipped away from us. So all this judging need to stop. Because we know who the final judge will be. George judge not for ye be judged by the father.
September 30, 1999 1999 article from the NY Times.... Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending By STEVEN A. HOLMES Published: September 30, 1999 In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders. The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring. Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits. In addition, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge much higher interest rates -- anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional loans. ''Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing down payment requirements,'' said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae's chairman and chief executive officer. ''Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market.'' Demographic information on these borrowers is sketchy. But at least one study indicates that 18 percent of the loans in the subprime market went to black borrowers, compared to 5 per cent of loans in the conventional loan market. In moving, even tentatively, into this new area of lending, Fannie Mae is taking on significantly more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980's. ''From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,'' said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ''If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.'' Under Fannie Mae's pilot program, consumers who qualify can secure a mortgage with an interest rate one percentage point above that of a conventional, 30-year fixed rate mortgage of less than $240,000 -- a rate that currently averages about 7.76 per cent. If the borrower makes his or her monthly payments on time for two years, the one percentage point premium is dropped. Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, does not lend money directly to consumers. Instead, it purchases loans that banks make on what is called the secondary market. By expanding the type of loans that it will buy, Fannie Mae is hoping to spur banks to make more loans to people with less-than-stellar credit ratings. Fannie Mae officials stress that the new mortgages will be extended to all potential borrowers who can qualify for a mortgage. But they add that the move is intended in part to increase the number of minority and low income home owners who tend to have worse credit ratings than non-Hispanic whites. Home ownership has, in fact, exploded among minorities during the economic boom of the 1990's. The number of mortgages extended to Hispanic applicants jumped by 87.2 per cent from 199
Obama is delivering the same George W. Bush / Karl Rove promises of 2000. The plain fact of the matter is that any politician that has nothing of substance to offer use the same 'con game'. It does matter who won the debate. Pick up a mirror and you will see 'the loser'.
“As the economy worsens and Election Day approaches, a conservative campaign that blames the global financial crisis on a government push to make housing more affordable to lower-class Americans has taken off on talk radio and e-mail. Commentators say that's what triggered the stock market meltdown and the freeze on credit. They've specifically targeted the mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which the federal government seized on Sept. 6, contending that lending to poor and minority Americans caused Fannie's and Freddie's financial problems. Federal housing data reveal that the charges aren't true, and that the private sector, not the government or government-backed companies, was behind the soaring subprime lending at the core of the crisis.” See full story: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/251/story/53802.html
Dibble, if someone sniffed anything it wasn’t me. We can assert or deny many things but that doesn’t make it a fact. I believe that if someone talks like a duck, walks like a duck, looks like a duck…and associates with ducks, then he must be a duck. Looking at Obama’s past and present associations is not hard to deduce this. The fact that he taught constitutional law in Chicago has absolutely nothing to do with my comment. Precisely, constitutional law is the study of basic laws of nation states, and constitutions are the framework for government. And how dangerous this knowledge could be in the hands of a ruler with an agenda that doesn’t protect our traditional American way of life. I know many university professors with such abhorrent political tendencies that we wouldn’t want them in our living rooms. Given Obama's past and present associations with people of dubious character, it's hard to envision that he would not have been tainted by these bonds. Furthermore, what kind of character and credibility can you have when you show total disrespect for our president by calling him “the White house occupant”? Be careful, because your slip may be showing.
Glo, I'm not sure where you are coming from with some of the comments you made, but for someone who speaks against judging people you sure are doing a good job at it. You've just accused McCain of adultery, and called me a KKK member, pitiful, an anti-muslim, and a racist pig. FYI I'm not white, so my comments have nothing to do with the muslim religion, or anyones nationality. I could care less about a persons race running for any political office. It's not about race, it's about a persons moral obligation to God, and our society. In case you didn't know, judging is making false accusations against someone, without any concrete evidence, or truly knowing the person. The comments that I made about Obama, and what his political party stand for, and promote, are facts that you can find on his own website. Stating facts are not judging someone, so please get it right. I don't blame Obama for the sins of the world, but it is a fact that he encourages and supports political views that are moraly questionable. According to my Bible, Homosexuality, and the promotion of it is an abomination to God, read the the book of Romans chapter 1. God said before he formed us in the womb, that he knew us, read Jeremiah 1:5. Human babies are not lab rats to experiment on for Stem Cell research. Children in the womb are still humans with the right to live. Killing an innocent child in a womens womb, is not a choice, it's called murder. All of these things mentioned are things that Obama, and his party, openly support. So again I'm not judging him, but simply stating facts. How can Christians vote with a clear conscience, for someone who promotes things that are straight out against the word of God, is beyond me. But if these things don't matter to you, and you really don't care what the Bible says, and you are not willing to align yourself with it, then that's your decision. Like you said Glo, you will be judged by the Father as well. Just remember that I have a right to my opinion as you do, and my comments were not originally intended for you in the first place. I would appreciate if you kept your judging to people in general instead of directing it towards me, since you really don't know me. If you truly are a Christian, seeking God in your life, then I pray a special blessing over you, and your family. May you always seek God with all your heart, and let his word truly be a lamp unto your feet, and may he open your eyes and many others, to the spiritual deception going on in this world. Sincerely, George...
I really McCain he represents what America should be. He knows what he is doing
Hi Colette, nice and funny sentences about Obama. Did you really believe that O. will take all the money from the rich and give it to the poor people? O., and also McCain, is a politician who promise all and keeps nothing! "Manchurian Candidate" and "Muslim radical" are very funny notations but I hope not you don´t really thing so.
I forgott. If it´s true that Obama is a "Manchurian Candidate" then McCain is "Mummy out of the Pharaos tomb"…giggle.
Hi Georg, and what did your bible says about transsexuality? About babies with Down-Sydrome? How can the bible substitute your brain? Why is it more important to dicuss Jeremiah than Obama? Jeremiah is dead for a long long time and don´t have any idea about our problems!! Stupid old book for stupid people!
Barack Obama is lying through his teeth! People are only voting for him because he's black and he'll probly be the first black president. I made up a new song about Obama and christmas. Well, I didn't really make it up. A friend of mine made it up. "Obama got run over by a reindeer...walking home from the white house christmas eve...you can say there's no such thing as presidents...if u vote for obama u r dumb." That's not all of it i'll make up the rest later. Obama is so dumb and a liar! He's making taxes higher so he can give all that hard-earned cash to the poor. Sure, I care for the poor dudes, but not enough to give them all my money! Vote for Mccain please:-D
Mandie, who is oboma sutton?
Oh Kayla you sounds like Colette in this threat. I hope you and Colette leave us in the direction of the Manchurai. Kayla didn´t you ask yourself why so many people are poor? Most of them are poor because we are poor. That is also the reason for the high crime rate. The probleme is the high-grade of unequality. In other words: Some people got all and the other nothing! Is that right Kayla?
I am sorry: I meant don´t leave us in the direction of the Manchurai.
Hi Colette Mcniff, well, I am from the young generation and I dont understand why you senior citizen is interessing in politics. Dont you thing in your 70 years you must be backing cakes for your grand childrens?
