How concerned are you about the state of the economy?

It is way past time for our elected President and congressional representatives to do the right thing for "WE THE PEOPLE IN THE USA". If they fail, God may continue to bless America but under whose flag. United we stand, divided we shall surely fall.

We should all be watchful. Maine has lost jobs state wide. Small business owners, construction, state & municipal government, and so on. For those who have lost their jobs still have bills to pay, a roof over their head, food to buy etc... More people are going on to unemployment that is partially paid through tax dollars. People who have worked for a company for 30 years are being layed off. Still to young to retire and being displaced. It may not effect you as an individual but in the long run it effects all of us. Our parents of the Depression era went through this. Maine is fortunate that it is not as bad as the rest of the country but it is here and growing. Help from the government is out future taxs. In that way you are helping yourself while helping others. Look beyond your world. Talk to your family & friends, and your grandparents or other older people. Tucker - I bet your parent lost a lot of money in the stock market. They may not have as much as you think. We need to put "In God We Trust" back on our currency.

I voted "No need to panic", because really, we are all doomed by the economy. I figured it would be best to tell people not to panic because hey, really, panic won't really help much. As I said, we're doomed.

all you people in MAINE out to band together and CALL and ENAIL SEN Snowe and Collins and let them know that IT STINKS that they are bailing out on their Republican colleagues and constituents and plan to vote yes on this "stimulus" bill!!! this is BEYOND BELIEF that they would sell you out! They should be voting NO along with other Democrats...when this package causes more HARM than GOOD...I hope you remember that at the polls and do NOT reelect these Liberals in disguise!

Things were fine until the democrats took over control of the house and senate, - the tax, spending and rule making branch of our government. Since November of 2006 the stock market has plunged 5100 points or near 41%. 2100 points since November when our new president was elected. Admist a promise from our president that he would balance the budget in 4 years, the nation this year is now looking at budget deficits in the trillion dollar range as far as the eye can see. Clearly the nation's investors (our economic engine and creators of jobs and economic stability) have loudly voted no against this new government's push towards socialism and the end to freedom and free markets as we know it. Moreover, consumer confidence is at an all time low because of the president's constant drum beat of how dire the economy is. Since markets and economies are largely physcological, this president's constant negative rhetoric only exacerbate's the situation and will effect even further job losses and consumer nervousness. Since this president is obviuosly no dummy, one can only assume that he is intentionally trying to break our free markets and destroy captilaism so as to make it easier to install his own western European form of socialism. Plan on seeing a further erosion of america's standard of living as large and small investors worldwide move their money elswhere. The United States as we used to know it is in for some major changes. I for one at least will not drink this administrations "kool-aid". God bless America!

I'm very worried that alot of good people are going to be hurting over the next few years. Many of us (even those that didn't go overboard) bought into the notion that the good times never end. Well they do and just about the time you think you'll never see them again, that's about when they start to turn around. This is a great time to enjoy your relationships, Keep interested in your hobbies, Start an exercise program so you'll be in shape for the next round of good times. It's not all about the money but it sure will be a whole lot less stressfull once we get off THIS ROLLER COASTER. Good luck!! :)

OBAMA = One Big Asinine Mistake America

Barak Obama, which as my 9 year old daughter pointed out, is aka BO. Not a coincidence.

It's interesting the designer of the poll put the most negative concern at the top. Even still over 53% of the respondents were not in that catagorey. There are truly alot of people out there hurting but i don't think the press has helped much to put things in perspective and polls set up like this don't help either.

I was in the state of panic at the start of this recesion but now after one year Indian economy is not in very bad condition and looking at the Government polices I have gained some heart. I believe that this will come as an opertuinty for talanted peoples.

Basically, the economy is toast. You don't get out of debt by incurring more. Inflation will eat us alive, oil is already back at $62 per barrel. Don't worry we will all be sharing the hurt soon as government raises taxes to cover the deficit to keep the dollar afloat.

Im out on disability and got myself a new fridge from a Maine state program. I know that Im taken care of by the Democrats and Obama, he wont let such a dedicated voter like me down. Why work when you can suckle off the fat of the hog that is/was Amerika.
