And not to mentiono They used to play in the competition Parade of Champions at JMU were big schools from like newjersey all over with over 300 students on the feild unbealivable i went to one back in the day came in Second Place Salem buy far NO contest almost makes this poll almost seem unheard of

We're going to Basset today, going to Salem in 2 weeks, went to Annapolis 2 years ago, going to newyork for nationals in 3 weeks and went to parade of champions last year

You left Jefferson Forest off the list. Shame on you. JF was selected as the #5 band in the USA for the 2007-08 school year. Robinson HS (Fairfax) was the only other VA band in the national top 25. JF consistently wins Grand Champion at competitions - latest was Lynchburg Classic two weeks ago. They have marched twice in the London New Year's Day Parade (2001 and 2005), they were selected to play with the best bands in the nation this spring at Disney World in Orlando, and will be marching in a national competition at Annapolis, MD next month. One of their members (Greg Thompson) has been seleceted as an All-American band member (baritone) and will be marching in the U.S. Army High School All-America Bowl in San Antonio on Jan. 3. Clearly, the Cavs are the best band in this area of the state.

Not to be disrepectful to any of the people who left comments; all have great band programs and congrats to those who win, but BASSETT OWNS!!!! Also Salem does not win the Blue Ridge Preview of Champions every year. Bassett beat Salem out at that competition winning every caption and having the highest score of the day. I do agree with Ken Ballard that Jefferson Forest should have been on that list. Congrats to Salem and E.C. Glass on winning at the USSBA show in Bassett. Oh by the way Bassett was 2nd at the USSBA Nationals last year and is going for a National title this year. Go Bassett!!!!!!!!!1

Thank you Tyler, it was an awesome competition, I wish there was a grand champion trophy to bring home. We will all meet in Salem for states. May the best band win.
