y perception is that Project Management is yet a 2nd tier profession unlike a CFA, Doctor or Lawyer. The simple reason here is the drift in methodologies used by todays project managers. There is no methodology that is 100% flawless and thus does not gain universal acceptance. This further makes it impossible therefore for having a Masters Degree for a Project Manager that can be unversaly accepted.
