Giant mistake! This will cause hyperinflation. Food, fuel and and foreign goods are going through the roof. Nor does this bailout spare us from the coming recession. All it does is saddle taxpayers with an added burden. Henry Paulson, whose Goldman, Sachs will be a major beneficiary of this bailout, has saved his friends on wallstreet from ruin. Unfortunately he as passed on the misery to the American people. "Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night."
Wonder how hard it is to immigrate to Switzerland?
This caps off the Bush presidency as perhaps one of the worst in American history.
This is a contrived crisis, a contrived panic... and in the chaos, the vaults have been emptied. Everyone who voted for this bill are either in on it, or succumbed to the Tyranny of the Urgent. This is a sad, sad day. Thank you for those who stood your ground.
The crisis is very real. But the panic and chaos are being used to bail out Paulson's buddies on Wallstreet. Extra liquidity keeps the system functioning long enough for Wallstreet insiders to bailout with fairly substantial "golden parachutes". The rest of us poor shlubs are left with the final bill. Might want to look into a second, perhaps third job. Going to need it just to buy a tank of gas and a cup of coffee in the years of hyper-inflation to come.
The country as we knew it is basically finished. With an Obama-Dem landslide and the Reid-Pelosi Congress to rubber-stamp, the amnesty for 30-million plus illegals is now a done deal for all intents and purposes. The full amnesty, complete with voting privileges, will ensure one-party rule for the forseeable future.
While it's true that a new, genuinely conservative party could arise from the ashes of the coming rout, it is highly unlikely they will be able to do anything to stop the rapid transformation to a de-facto single-party state. The millions of third-world parasites pouring in will vote one way, as they always do. Once the corpse is picked clean of the meat, the various groups will start to fight one another over the remaining bones and shreds. The elites, richer than ever, will of course be able to move elsewhere to escape once the anarchy and violence reaches the level of the new South Africa - another one of their splendid creations.
There's no need to get upset. It was over a year ago that the die was cast. This is just the expected thrashing around. It should also be extremely amusing to hear all the post-bailout backpedaling once the big banks start selling off again and the markets start sliding south again.
America: "You mean we handed you all that money for nothing?"
Wall Street: "Well, I woudn't exactly say it was for nothing. We couldn't have been able to cash out before things seriously tanked without it."
America: "Cashed out? But what... what happened to all that money that was supposed to rescue our economy?"
Wall Street: "Oh, we sent it to Luxembourg and the Caymans right after Paulson bought all that worthless debt from us. You didn't seriously think we were going to invest it back into a failing economy, did you? We may have been greedy and made some mistakes, but we're not stupid!"
I can't believe the bailout has came to and as I understand they are giving the CEO's that failed this country a bonus ... FOR WHAT?????I say they Fire the CEO's Spend the Money Wisely and Call it a Lesson Learned as it will burden all of us taxpayers
