Who do you think won the Vice-Presidential debate? Biden, Palin or undecided?

Sarah Palin won this debate because she connected with Middle Class Americans. She did this by speaking our language and showing genuine concern for our cause. Joe Biden is a good man, unfortunately he has become part of the "Belt Way" problem and his "World View" is tainted by the partisan politics.

Wow, what pathetic poll results. I guess it just proves the point that even though North Carolina is a possible swing state because of the diverse group of new educated residents, places like Pitt co. still have to much old population. Not only is this old (not age mind you) population hurting NC move into the 21st. centry but it's also hurting America.

There is a lot of benefits from living in rural NC but being around the uneducated that unfortunately populate the rural areas is just embarrassing.

Don't listen to Craig he's been watching Fox comedy News and drinking all day because he lost his job today. McCain isn't for the middle class if he were then where are our tax breaks? And why is McCain going to tax our healthcare from our employers? Craig doesn't have to worry because he doesn't have a job anymore.

McCain's tax plan is the SAME as the Bush tax plan and we all know how well that turned out. Well, at least Bush finally realized that trickle down economics doesn't work and HAD to send out the insenative packages.

I feel Sarah Palin is what we need at this time. She seems more conservative
and we need that. This Country in in bad shape at this time.

Palin won both in intellect and in integrity. Liberal democrats are the worst models for our chlidren and serve as no role models for anyone. Listen, all the stuff Biden was reciting ,according to the analyst, were 14 absolute political gaffes about John McCain's voting record. I know that Palin made mistakes but she did not try to decieve the American people like Biden. That is the difference. Everyone needs to see the 2004 hearings involving Barny Frank's committe, Davis, Maxine Waters about Fannie Mae and just see how these folks ignored warnings that Fannie Mae was in trouble and this disaster was going to happen. It could have been avoided but these democrats were blind. Even WNCT to my knowledge has not shown this video which is posted on YouTube. Google search for Fannie Mae hearing(s) and you should be able to see it. Fox news has played this video and Shaun Hannity. This clearly shows that what has happened to our economy is due to irresponsibilty and failure of democrats managing Fannie Mae. There is a list that reveals who received payments and Obama is No 2 on the list and he says he looks out for middle America. That is a lie. It is not edited to distort what is said. Everyone testiftying can clearly be heard. John McCain warned in 2005 that Fannie Mae needed regulation. Even Clinton acknowledges on audio tape that the democrats blocked regulation, how about that? Obama lies to the American people. Who do you believe, a war hero who bears the scars of freedom or someone who lies, distorts and misrepresents his policies and hasn't done anything. Change--the only change Obama knows is how to read the changes in the talking points that he is given which are not his original thoughts. Go back and investigate these things for yourself and let everyone know to vote for McCain and Palin in Nov.

Comment to Mary, if you say things you should be able to back them with facts not what you are hearing from the news media and the democratic campaign of Obama. You shold listen to all sides and then let your heart direct you. You state, "why is McCain going to tax our healthcare from our employers?" That is totally misrepresented. In short, McCain is going to give a $5,000 dollar tax credit and payment will be made to the insurance company for your medical coverage to help you pay your bill. Go to his web site contact someone and let them explain it to you. We are economic trouble now, how do you think Obama will pay for his plans? It is estimated that his plan will cost us another $1,000,000,000,000 (trillion) lifetime payment. Go check it out. Obama promises to tax incomes over $250,000 which will include small businesses and everyone else gets a tax break. How will he pay for it? Guess what, corporations and buisness will just pass that payment to you and me because they are not in business to loose money. Oil companies the same thing. McCain supports capping the oil companies and relying on alternative energy supplies. By the way i have never been employed by a poor man because he can't pay, that is simple economics and the free enterprize. It sounds to me that you are embracing Socialisim because that is what Obama is promising but he will not deliever his promises. He can't because America cannot afford his plans, nothing is for free and if you believe that, then I am sorry we all will not have a job or can't afford food etc if you vote for Obama. This is it, if he makes good his promises it is going to cost us a fortune, don't believe it, do the math and investigate for yourself.

How in the H could anyone think that Palin won that debate? This woman didn't even answer half the questions which were asked of her. All she did was stick to the talking points which she memorized. This woman is not qualified to be VP, and God Help America, President. It scares the ' H ' out of me just to even think of that. The one at the debate or the one who talk to Gibson and Couric, either one is not fit to be Vice President. Palin claimed that McCain's health care plan would be "budget-neutral," costing the government nothing. The McCain campaign hasn't released an estimate of how much the plan would cost, but independent experts contradict Palin's claim of a cost-free program.

The Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center estimates that McCain's plan, which at its peak would cover 5 million of the uninsured, would increase the deficit by $1.3 trillion over 10 years.

The nonpartisan U.S. Budget Watch's fiscal voter guide estimates that McCain's tax credit would increase the deficit by somewhere between $288 billion to $364 billion by the year 2013, and that making employer health benefits taxable would bring in between $201 billion to $274 billion in revenue. That nets out to a shortfall of somewhere between $14 billion to $163 billion – for that year alone.

Palin also said that Obama’s plan would be "universal government run" health care and that health care would be "taken over by the feds." That's not the case at all. As we’ve said before, Obama’s plan would not replace or remove private insurance, or require people to enroll in a public plan. It would increase the offerings of publicly funded health care.

* Palin mistakenly claimed that troop levels in Iraq had returned to “pre-surge” levels. Levels are gradually coming down but current plans would have levels higher than pre-surge numbers through early next year, at least.

* Palin repeated a false claim that Obama once voted in favor of higher taxes on “families” making as little as $42,000 a year. He did not. The budget bill in question called for an increase only on singles making that amount, but a family of four would not have been affected unless they made at least $90,000 a year.

Palin got her numbers wrong on troop levels when she said "and with the surge that has worked, we're now down to pre-surge numbers in Iraq."

The surge was announced in January 2007, at which point there were 132,000 troops in Iraq, according to the Brookings Institute Iraq Index. As of September 2008, that number was 146,000. President Bush recently announced that another 8,000 would be coming home by February of next year. But even then, there still would be 6,000 more troops in Iraq than there were when the surge began.

Palin repeated a falsehood that the McCain campaign has peddled, off and on, for some time:

Palin: "But when you talk about Barack's plan to tax increase affecting only those making $250,000 a year or more, you're forgetting millions of small businesses that are going to fit into that category. So they're going to be the ones paying higher taxes thus resulting in fewer jobs being created and less productivity."

As we reported June 23, it's simply untrue that "millions" of small business owners will pay higher federal income taxes under Obama's proposal. According to an analysis by the independent Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, several hundred thousand small business owners, at most, would have incomes high enough to be affected by the higher rates on income, capital gains and dividends that Obama proposes. That counts as "small business owners" even those who merely have some sideline income from such endeavors as freelance writing, speaking or running rental properties, and who get the bulk of their income from employment elsewhere.

Do I REALLY Need To Go On? Wow, you would think after what this country has suffered through the past 8 years people would at LEAST

Sarah Palin won because she tells the truth. Joe Biden wouldn't know the truth if it bit him in the behind. The bottom line is that the Obama/Biden ticket supports all that is wrong in America - those things that the Bible considers to be sin. Obvious examples are abortion and support of homosexuality. This is not a minor issue! God will not be mocked. We must vote for those who support Biblical values!

My opinion, Palin won !! She handled the scene very well. I like the fact that she IS an 'outsider'. She is not a part of the corrupt Washington political structure and can just say it like she sees it.

How do you cut taxes on 95% of the country (reduce your househole income) and still say you are going to reduce the National Debt (pay down your credit cards)? Only way is a dramatic reduction in spending. which, by the way, has never happened. Once a prgram or tax gets in the budget, it stays. In some form or another, it stays. Additionally, if you increase the tax on the people trying to run small businesses. How are they to expand and increase regular paying jobs for 'the people'? How do they continue to make payrolls? Sounds like a bad deal to me. That is the only way "big business" continues to pay US (you and me) every 2 weeks or however you get paid !! They are going to make their profits to keep the doors open, and we will be forced to pay the difference. I do not agree with the Oil profits as they are very excessive, IMO. But they are a small part of our eveyday pays. My mortgage continues to be the Lion in that arena.

And just for the record, I'm a 40 yr old, Lifetime Democrat here since eligible to register and vote !!

I think Sarah Palin won the debate hands down. I also know that the American people already have a Health Care plan dating back to the Johnson Administration. If you don't want to work and want to have several illegitmate babies the Federal Government will pay your health care, the health care of all the babies, send you to school forever (if you so choose and live in our great state) give you a tax refund the likes of which I have never seen nor will ever see, even though you haven't worked nor will ever work. Those that need it, such as the physical or mental handicap, can't seem to get it or find that it's not worth all the red tape, hearings and Doctor statements to recieve the benefits.
I say go McCain and Palin. I also know that each and everyone of us vote (not our consience) but our IQ.
