I am grateful for Sarah Palin's strong support of good government at last night's debate. But the debates take a backseat to the pressing problem of the day, i.e. the censorship of political speech by big media groups. I am heartsick. Some Democrats & their allies (Youtube, Warner Music, Universal Music Publishing) are fiddling while everyone's finances in America are burning. I believe Youtube pulled a popular video with over 840,000 views from Sept 24 to Sept 29 because it is so damaging to some Democrats. An informative video "Burning down the house: What caused this economic crisis?" came out on youtube Sept 24. By Friday there were 15,000 views, by Monday afternoon over 840,000. As of Monday 5pm or so, I went on youtube and it said that the video is not available due to a copyright claim by Warner Music Group. On Tues multiple reposted copies were being pulled due to copyright claims by Universal Music Publishing. It is my understanding that the Fair Use Doctrine and youtube normal practices allow for the use of popular music in videos. On Weds, things seemed to settle down. Additional copies keep being reposted on youtube, some with classical music for the background, some are the orig with pop/rock music. At this moment, a copy of the orig is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqbgcejIT_k Youtube disrupted the one with the most views (at least 840,000, my husband thought he saw it at over 1 million views) and all of the "awards". As of Tuesday morning, the original one was completely removed from youtube. No mention anywhere on youtube of the # 7 or # 8 (I can't remember for sure) most viewed video for the week. (It was the #2 or #3 most viewed in the News and Politics section.) If you google the complete title of the video, you get over 2 million hits. POPTUB (on youtube) on Monday had the orig video at #8 as most viewed and discussed video on youtube for the previous week. I've called youtube 1-650-253-0000 and Warner 212-275-2000 and Universal Music Publishing 310-235-4700 and pleaded with them. My family's financial future, even my family's future freedom depends on the truth being told about who is responsible for this, i.e. Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac & their allies in Congress; Dodd, Frank, Obama, and others. If the foxes who were guarding the hen house are allowed to "fix it", who knows what catastrophe will result from their "fix". I've been scared about the financial crisis, but I am terrified to think that the real information may be kept from us, and we may look back at this day sometime and think ... wow, some in government caused a crisis and then made it even worse.
I really like the way Sarah Palin speaks directly to the people. She looks directly at the camera ie the people and says what she thinks. How refreshing! I'm so glad John McCain picked her. She's a winner!
My favorite underreported moment was when Joe Biden actually said that Obama has asked him to be in the room during every major policy decision if he is elected. He was flat out admitting that Obama is not fit to lead!
Sarah was great but unfortunately Joe was smooth and diden't sound like the liar he really is, She just has to keep close to her heavenly Leader and HE will guide her,
I like her convictions and her character! She has my vote. God bless her!
Sarah Palin is the female reincarnation of Ronald Reagan. Unfortunately she is not in a position of leadership during this period in which our nation so needs it. We have suffered for 20 years for lack of leadership in both the congress and the whitehouse. With the choice of candidates for the presidency both coming from the senate, it appears we will suffer 4 more years. Can our nation survive until 2012? I pray it can.
Sarah Palin had a slow/nervous start but quckly adjusted and improved to cruise control. It was obvious that she was more on the offensive than Biden, and had him on the ropes several times. She needed to provide more concrete facts and specifics on how we can get out from under this economic condition, and the issues (health care, education, social security, tax reform) in a cogent manner. She could have had a little more connection at the end w/her closing statements, like "You, the American people can make a difference and we need your involvement. God bless you and your family." Something like that.
This is such a spiritual time, and Sarh Palin is part of this Many of us believe she is a Esther for such a time as this. W e need the right judges in place, if not this nation will be set back 50 years, so if Jesus is Lord in your life vote the Bible
Its very interesting the criticism about Sarah Palen is "Experience"! Maybe we should take a look at the "experienced Congress and Senators that have helped this country get in the State it is in. The President that has had three of the USA's major diasters to deal with and the complacency of the "MTV" style politics that is exploding around the globe. Somehow, people used to ralley around our leaders and pray for them. Thank God for a "true" American that relates to the "mainstreet" American like me, and holds to the values that made This Country Great.
I was a bit disappointed last night as I was during the first presidential debate. Both John and Sarah were too general in what their plans are and the dems were much more specific and thus looked better to the public. I will be voting for McCain/Palin but their goals and plans, if better verbalized and more specific, would be convincing others to join with them to take the US in the right direction.
I do believe she is 'for such a time as this". I was praying for she & Senator McCain. It is such an important election, the judical appointments themselves are so important. Their plans for improving the future within the 'means' that will be there is more likely to happen than the 'great unknown'.
I don't think either one "won" the debate. To win a debate you have to prove your opponents points invalid and/or your points superior. Sarah was too general in her responses to prove her points superior to anyone that didn't already fundamentally believe in her general principles (which I do). The rest of the debate was just a series of them contradicting each others facts, without any real means to disprove the other. I was a little disappointed. I did feel like Mrs. Palin demonstrated confidence and character and proved herself to be a worthy VP pick. However, I don't think the debate provided much to sway someone to change their opinion either way.
Sarah was great! She has proved she will grow into any job she pursues! I only wish the McCain campaign would stop throwing Wall Street under the bus and go after the root cause of the sub-prime market meltdown. This has been a Democrat boondoggle since Jimmy Carter in 1977, let's pound that point home! And why are we letting the criminals like Franklin Raines go scott free? Isn't manipulation of the books to trigger bonus payments ($91 million in 3 years) a federal crime? We should be pointing out that Obama's hands are knuckle deep in this pie and have been ever since his Chicago Agitator days! Obama doesn't play by Marquis of Queensbury rules, he uses any weapon available, including ACORN and it's voter fraud tools. It's time the campaign starts speaking truth to power. Remember the best way to deal with a schoolyard bullies like Raines, Barney Frank, Reid, Pelosi and the gang at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae et al!
As a woman, I was insulted by Sara Palin's superficiality and lack of substance. She better stop winking and act more competently, if we Republicans want to win!
Let's be honest with each other... When it comes to answering the tough, important questions, Gov Palin is not prepared to answer them because she doesn't know the answer. Her folksy, friendly approach to talking is being used too often to mask what she does not know. We don't need more Dick Cheney-style answers to mask what's not known. Joe Biden knows how to answer the important questions because he knows the answer the information and experience. Even Gov Huckabee had credible answers to a littany of questions yet was not tapped by John McCain. In my view, John McCain cannot help this country any more than he has.
Unfortunately, I believe that Mr. Biden won the debate last night if the goals were to: 1)articulate each ticket's agenda; 2) clearly state ones qualifications and vision for the vice presidency; and, 3) to demonstrate why one ticket’s track record makes the track record of the other candidates the WRONG CHOICE! Without judging the validity of his comments, overall Biden portrayed himself as passionate, knowledgeable, convicted, and precise about why he and his running mate were the right answer. I think we as a party failed to rein in undecided voters by watering down our position and not hit the dems right between the eyes with the facts. McCain/Palin still have my vote. However, I am deeply concerned about our chances to win this presidential race. This is no time to be timid or nice. Shock and Awe! That's all I'm sayin' Charles in Houston.
Of the 4 people running for the top spots, only one has executive experience to fill an executive position. The White house cannot be a learn-as-you-go job. I was disgusted with Senator Bidesn flippant quotes of figures that we cannot check. Noteworthy was Carl Rove's proof that Biden openly lied at least 10 of the figures he (Biden) quoted. Figures, to me, mean very little without the situation under which the figures were accumulated Biden just rattled off figures that were meaningless in an effort to make Bush look bad and the Democratic Congress look good----HE FAILED! If there was any doubt about who I'd vote for, that doubt was eliminated last night. Wheres that ballot? I'm voting for Big Mac and the Cuda! Bill
I thought Sarah did very good in the debate last night. One thing Obama and Biden haven't figured out yet is that increasing taxes on corperates and business is just passed on to the middle class anyways in the form of embedded taxes. So either way we go we are going to end up paying any tax increase they enlist. If the government doesn't take it from our check we end up paying it at the cash register. I hope Palin can get a hold of the fair tax and bring it back to the forefront.
I have to agree with some of what Charles Pulliam stated above. I was extremely frustrated at the way Palin answered the first question. She was given the ability to put Biden on the defensive from the start and instead of throwing a knock out punch she threw a few jabs. Can someone please tell me why she did not emphasize the fact that McCain co-sponsored a bill for increased regulation over Freddie and Fannie...and did even mention that it was the Dems (Obama, Pelosi, Dodd, Franks) who opposed it. She had the opportunity to win the debate at the start and missed it. I also agree that Biden (while misrepresenting many facts) came across as very crisp, specific, and knowledgeable. Now...with the above being said, I do believe that Palin was able to get into her grove in the second half. She held her own very well and actually had Biden on the defensive. One point that was hardly covered was Biden "almost" break down. Obama crushed Hillary on this issue...and I think it may hurt Biden as well. Just my $0.02. -Michael
Today I did some checking and discovered that both her first and last names are biblical words, one in Hebrew the other in Greek: Sarah. Wife of Abraham and mother of Isaac. In Hebrew, Sarah means "noble woman" (Strong's 8283). Palin. In Greek, the word means "renewal." (Strong's 3825). Only God knows the future and how she may be used by Him, but may this noble woman serve to bring renewal in the land, and inspiration.
I'm sorry, but Ms Palin is absolutely NOT qualified to be VP. As much as I like Huckabee's positions, I'm no longer able to support Huckabee in the face of this unqualified support for a person who is not only not qualified for the VP position, but under such scrutiny for so many mis-uses of power in her positions as Gov and Mayor. It is truely a sad day, because I had intended to write in Huckabee. Now I am voting for Obama because it seems like all fo the choices are less than honest, but Palin as VP is a dangerous concept. May God protect us, no matter what the outcome of this election.
Sarah Palin will be the first woman VP of these United States. As America gets to know her and grow to love her she will go on to become the first woman President of these United States. She loves God, her family and, her country. She has a zest for living and a passion for people. She is a woman of great integrity tempered with true grit. It is the integrity that I most admire about her. When she is surrounded by those who will be advising her, she will make right decisions by discerning what is right. Will ALL of her decisions be perfect? Of course not. Does anyone know anyone who has a perfect track record of right decisions? No. I couldn't care less about her "experience" as it relates to the office she seeks. EVERY President, Vice President-and so on-of these United States had to confront issues for which they had no prior experience. It is the experience of demonstrating integrity that is most important to this communicator. Sarah Palin fills the bill. I say, God bless her, her family, and our country. As the attack dogs become more vicious she-along with the rest of us-will need the strength and peace of God even more. But then again I believe she already knows that. Sarah Palin won the debate before it started as far as this communicator is concerned. Why? Because she brought integrity to the stage with herself.
This was not a debate, it was a canned question and answer session, we need to debate what is fair for all americans (THE FAIR TAX). Mike why can't we hear more about fair tax? I feel if this was a true debate last night when Biden said that to tax people making over $250,000 is fair, I would have brought up what is fair, THE FAIR TAX, the people with the most money will spend the most and the poor would not be taxed on food, medicine or housing the same for the rich. If the rich dont spend they save, more money for savings, lower interest rates, ect ect ect, I AM pissed off as you can see.
I think Sara Palin is a breath of fresh air to the otherwise sour smell of Washington insiders. I would love to see her run for president in one of the next 2 elections. With the 4 years experience that she will have as vice president I think she will make a fine president.

Way to go Sarah. The lady proved that she could hold her own against the big dogs. She had Biden so frustrated that even the great Joe was at a loss for words. He may well be one of OUR bet kept secrets. I am proud to be a Republican.
I agree that Huck was (and is) a great choice for a Democrat or Republican to vote for as VP and beyond. But Palin with her sarcastic air and winking folksy "charm" are NOT what we need now or ever. I had hoped to see some substance from the "look-at-me-as-I-carry-my-special-needs-child-down-these-narrow-airplane-stairs (in heels, no less)" VP pick. Did McCain think women would just go ahead and vote for a woman...just because we have that one thing in common? I'm furious with the Republican party for disrespecting us with this unacceptable choice! I'm outraged that the party has put, not only the Party, but the COUNTRY at risk with such a choice for VP. I don't care how well she looks at the camera and delivers "say it ain't so, Joe". She's a Journalism Major!! Does this mean Katie Couric or O'Reily can now run for one of the highest and most important offices in the world!? I don't care if her name is Biblical. God watches over all of us, not just those of us with Biblical names. He made us all, he didn't get to name us. I'm sure He has a plan for her and a plan for me and yes, a plan for all of you reading this. But I really think He was just as surprised as I was when John McCain named her as his running mate. I'm going to have to vote Obama/Biden because I cannot imagine a woman, who tried to hide the fact she was carrying a Down's baby, who now flaunts him to attract women voters and those who have special needs babies. I taught Special Ed. for too long to be fooled by someone cut Special Ed. funding in her state. I cannot vote for someone (make no mistake, if you vote McCain you are voting for Palin) who is under investigation for misuse of her office. And one last comment. She said something about listening to Joe Biden's speeches or debates "since I was in like second grade". Does she know how old John McCain is? Or maybe she does and she's just waiting ....??
The Republican platform is: Blame the Democrats. The Democratic platform is to declare that there are no adults in the country, and we must all be treated like children. There is nothing of value in this poll - just as some commentators have described some of the media as having a Liberal bias, they fail to recognize that Huckabee, this poll, and Fox News bring a Conservative bias. There is no monopoly on intelligence, integrity and courage on either the left or the right - the leader of the country leads all Americans, and brings out the best in all of us. So, go ahead - follow your platform, Republicans. Blame the Democrats. You represent the worst, not the best, of what Conservatives have to offer.
Even if one has previous executive experience on a different level, the White House has, and will always be, a "learn as you go" job. There is no true precedent to give someone the experience needed to hit the ground running in that position at that level. The only person who can truly claim they have prior job experience for the White House is a sitting president who is running for a second term. In that regard, neither McCain, Obama, Palin or Biden qualify. Palin, though less experienced, will do well as VP, if the their team is elected. She'll have a lot to learn; but so will Biden. I didn't think last night's exchange rose to the level of a debate, was a fairly predictably tit-for-tat, and offered no real new information or views on either side. Both candidates held their own fine, and both had some bright moments as well as some awkward moments. When debating or giving speeches, etc., Palin needs to lose what I call the "gentle scolding mom" tone of voice she uses now and then. It may be folksy and down to earth (nothing wrong with that), but I think, in the long run, it will work against her, and personally strikes me as less than presidential.
She did fantastic...and isn't just like the Democrats not to give her credit. Joe Biden (and Obama) will say what they want everyone to hear in a debate, knowing certain things aren't true, but once said, many people believe it and it can't be taken back. That is the same that will happen if their ticket wins. Fred Thompson said that Biden was wrong at least 10 and several more were not true (he was there during the votes) and several more items could be debated,,, the Dems aren't talking about that this morning though. Just how mediocre she was....com one Dems....tell the truth for a change.
Sarah did an outstanding job. Seemed to me like Biden had some advance look at Gwen's questions so he was somehow armed with "statistics" to her questiions. All proven to be smokescreens and lies. The Dems are better at character assination. They tried to impeach Regan. We can beat on Bush, but don't forget, he stood firm against terror, our country has remained "safe" under his watch during his 8 years in office. I don't 100% agree with everything he does. I personally think that he appears arrogant and stubborn, his real personality has been said to be a personable, warm determined person. Laura is a saint. Carl Rowen is a genious. John McCain would do well to use Carl for pointers against these liberals and lies with "PROOF" to show the American's a show and tell much Ross Perot presented. I feel the liberal left have bought the media. I am praying for Sarah and that God shields her for this job. America we have a very recent update of a sobering intelligence briefing about the alarming growth and incredible magnitude of today's threat to all peoples who are not Islamic. If you do nothing else, click on this website or cut and paste it. My AVG program delcared it as a safe site. It is a long lecture and within the lecture is a link to a recent video proving the agenda. "America as the last man standing," given to the Hudson Institute Speech by Geert Wilders, Chairman of the Party for Freedom, the Netherlands, 25 September 2008, Hudson Institute Lecture about the war on terrorism on 25 September 2008. http://cicentre.com/articles/gw_america_last_man_standing.html The video link FITMA: is http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/020472.php The birth rate alone is a sobering wake up call about this culture intent on our distruction.
If Senator McCain does not follow up and capitalize on the new ground that Governor Palin established during the debate, it will be a disaster, and the election will be lost. We can only imagine what a Far Left liberal President can do with a Democratic House and Senate will mean for the Republic, which is rapidly disappearing.
The debate was about even, with Sarah scoring a few points more than Biden. The more important aspect of this race is the ability to make sound decisions. A president or vice-president are not expected to know everything about everything. That's what we pay advisors and researchers for. Give me a person who is able to make sound decisions that are motivated by a love for this Country. A person with integrity. A person that is not beholden to corrupt lobbyists. A person with courage. This is the type of person we need. Sarah has demonstrated these qualities over and over again. She has all the fundamentals to make an excellent vice-president and later on, president. I am , by the way, a lifelong Democrat, but I will not walk in lockstep to my party and vote for a puppet.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well Sarah had been prepped for this debate. She has only had 5 weeks to try to cram all of the history of congressional activities, presidential duffs and successes. Considering this, I think she was great. The most valuable thing Sarah brings to the table is personal integrity and honesty, something VERY rare in Washington. I wish all those impressed with Obama would do more homework. Read "The Obama Nation" for starters. It is noteworthy that Obama slipped in one campaign stop and made reference to his "Muslim faith". He immediately tried to cover it up but then, on another occasion stated he would campaign in all 57 states. There are only 50 states in the USA but, there are 57 Islamic states. Although he tried to distance himself from the Trinity United Christian Church in Chicago (where he began to attend after marrying Michelle) one only has to look at the Tenets fo the church to know where his loyalty lies. I hope that God will lead enough voters to the polls on Nov 4 to put McCain - Palin in the White House. My first choice for the Republican ticket was Mike Huckabee and I wanted McCain to choose him as his running mate. But, naming Sarah Palin was genious. I think she is the breath of fresh air we need in Washington. I only hope they don't corrupt her.
I noticed at one point Bidden was clearifing marriage and comming back from a pollen remark he said carefully about the issue and Obama's stand I felt was a big fat lie to get votes. Yes he looked polished and became very real for a minute about the loss of his wife, but when things look right, smell right, we need to discern the spirit behind, and lots of americans, even christians do not know this. For months now I have been hammered by many different legistration groups for money and to a degree have supported with a reasonal amount for the cause which is very time consuming to handle so much mail like I'm sure many others, but I do fill every questionaire and send no money because of my budget, but with the questionaire I write a not to them that it won't be money that will win the cause, but Jesus. To get on our hands and knees, pray and fast, tear our hearts with love in our prayers for the change of our nation. If the polititions are persistent, so can we. Long as we are united and vote the bible way, we will not lose. We are his hands, feet and mouth piece. He will do it.
Sarah held her own! She has a great connection with the people, and she's a real champion for issues that matter to all of us. She relates in a way people can understand, instead of pulling Washington double talk......she actually tells us the truth. What a concept! Our prayers are with you, Sarah! People need to vote their conscience, which is our American right as citizens, but I am outraged at the way Ohio has "LED" their early vote, targeting a basically uninformed population of homeless people (among other groups) and TELLING THEM WHO TO VOTE FOR. Excuse me, but we do not live in a dictatorship (yet). If Obama condones this kind of action, and even organized and sponsored it - what else will he do on our behalf as President? God help us. If you have any faith in God at all, get on your knees and pray about this, then speak up about it. Let your congresspeople and senators know how you feel. Besides, getting his facts wrong, it's scary that Biden didn't know which article of the Constitution to quote on the very job he's trying to land (Article 2, not 1).
If senator McCain teams up with Al Gore he can kiss this election goodby. Its like asking a fox to watch the hen house. Al Gore is an envornmental waco,he,s the worst one to buddy up to, although it dosent surprise me, sence McCain always votes with the left.
Joe Biden made too many really bad mistakes for a person who is supposed to be so knowledgable about foreign affairs. Karl Rove read off ten outright mistakes and said there were six others which were questionable. It makes me crazy that people think is is so brilliant!!!!
I love Sarah Palin. She is a fresh breath of air. I believe she is the first one in my life to run on any ticket that really is for the people of America. I love the way she spoke to the people and not the moderator, she does not let anything upset or sway her and speaks facts. She may not have all that Washington DC, political junk in her speach that others see as a weakness but i see it as a strenght because she is real, truthful, and will work for the people of America and does not need to conform to the ways of all the political people who typically run for candidacy. She is a the one we need that is willing to oppose any party no matter whether Republican or Democrat in order to get the job done and do what is right. I love her and Senator McCain along with her will truly bring the change that America needs. I am convinced of that. They are not worried about what they look like as much as what they believe in. Praise the LORD for that! it is about time!
Isn't it funny who the "drive by media" with the exception of FOX paints Sarah Palin in such a negative light. It's as if Obama signs their pay checks. What a wonderful breath of fresh air she is. The Libs absolutely hate her because she has something they could never hope to have... strong moral fiber. She stands for everything they hate. She doesn't have the know how to lead, or she doesn't have enough expertise to be a vice president. GIVE ME A BREAK. Why don't those same na sayers say or ask the same questions and make the same accusations of Obama. He certainly is guilty of those lack of qualifations... NO BAMA!!! Sarah was her typical outstanding self during the VP debate HANDS DOWN> Any one who says different has their head up their backside!!!
How can anyone with a conscience vote for Obama? Please read this article on his involvement w Acorn. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ibd/20080930/bs_ibd_ibd/20080930issues
my computer is going it keeps on shuting down but she did a great job, although you would not think so by the other netwards. I really see socialism coming to this country. i hope this gets elected she would be refreshing in politics. If huckabee would have been in there he would have won hands down. I guess you know who i voted for !!!
I have seen Sarah's potential since she first came on the scene. I see her running for President in another 4 years. To help out the campaign, could someone get the website below to Huck? It shows everything leads back to Obama. http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/09/barack_obama_and_the_strategy.html
I am praying that God will give us the leaders we NEED, not the ones we DESERVE if we don't vote, Nov 4. I voted for Mike Huckabee in the Primary and was disappointed when he didn't win, but I feel that God will use him mightily in other ways to bring our Nation back to God. And I also feel Sarah Palin will be used of God as He did Deborah the Judge in the Old Testament who lead Israel into battle. Romans 8:28.
Hey Commenters-Look Up. My home is in Heaven . "This land is not my home; I'm just a pasing thru" In view of the congress vote today we better be looking up
Sarah Palin proved she has a lot of fight in her for the people during tonights debate. I felt she did a good job keeping up with Biden. While Biden was smooth and could convince anyone that he new what he was talking about (whether he did or not), Sarah didn't let him slide on through without a fight. She portrays a "real" person and not some smooth talker. It is time we get some "real" people in the white house to support and lead the rest of us "real" people. On another note, Joe Biden needs to quit playing that sympathy card he pulls out every time he speaks. We all feel really bad that his wife and child were killed, but its time he let it go and quit playing on the sympathy of the people. I would hate to say I got a lot of votes because someone felt sorry for me.
So when did the USA "along with France" kick Hezbolah out of Lebanon? Is Joe Biden really that obtuse? Since when has France worked with the USA on anything significant when fighting terrorist organizations? Sarah did a wonderful job in being straight with the people and catching Joe on his continual blaming of the Bush administration. She talked straight while he tried to put himself above the rest of us by using his Senate-speak - lots of big words and long sentances with no meaning - a collosal turn-off while giving the impression that the little people are not capable of understanding his politico-speak. After saying he knows what it's like for the American family to struggle financially, he went on in his closing statement saying that he knows he's better off than most Americans. I should say so, after spending 35 years in the Senate, with current Senate average income of $250k per year. Sarah is our gal. She's the read deal. Obama and Biden? They are the bridge to nowhere.
I prayed for Sarah Palin all throughout the day on Thursday, and was not disappointed in her performance. What I don't understand about the McCain camp is that they had a great chance to bag the election with the economic crisis and did not stand up to it. Biden stated in one of his comments that he and Obama were going to give the judges the authority to change not only the interest rate but also the principal of the mortages of people who could not pay them. YEP that was a true statement. The bill that was passed by the house on Friday had that in there!!! WE are in so much trouble. Why did the Republican Party not stand in unison and reject the bill. I guess it was the October surprise. I say we need to fire the entire lot in DC and start fresh. Maybe we could nominate Sarah Palin for President and let her pick her cabinet. Then we could pick all the conservatives that are running and elect them. Some dream huh??? Good job Sarah, you go girl!!
Let me start out by saying that when I vote, it will be for the "next best thing to Mike" candidate. Sometimes I feel like you (Mike) are plugged into my brain - we agree on so many things. I intensely hate this bailout plan and anyone that speaks in support of it sounds like I am getting a sales pitch from a used car salesman - greasy and completely lacking in truth. I feel this situation is the fault of the corrupt lending practices of these greedy banks. Simply said, no one has the right to own a home if they lack the income to make their payments. Duh! We have the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness - at our own expense. This is not the government's responsibility!! I was happy with Sarah's comments in the debate, but definitely not impressed. It felt more like a "yo' mama" insult contest. Joe Biden is a polished and well-practiced liar (and plagarist) which to the ignorant masses made him sound credible. Sarah disputed his claims, but didn't pull out the concrete evidence. She looked at the camera which helped her to connect with the people. She had funny remarks which lightened the mood. It by no means sold me on the ticket as a whole. I wish she had mentioned John McCain's speech expressing his concerns over the corrupt lending practices that he made 3 years ago. John saw this coming, but the Dems wanted to play ostrich in the interest of helping the disadvantaged own homes they couldn't possibly afford. Nice thought, but obviously unrealistic. I don't feel that MCain is conservative enough, but he has done a lot of good things while serving as a Senator. Sarah tips the scale in the Right direction. She tells the truth whether or not it is popular. I have no idea how she will fit into the White House. I don't think it really matters how she answers questions such as Couric's trick question, "Which Supreme Court decisions do you disagree with?" Every left wing journalist jumped on her lack of an intelligent answer yet skimmed over Biden's discussion about the Great Depression. Wrong president and wrong technology - Hoover not Roosevelt and there were no TVs! Another blatant fabrication on his part. If there is something I can not tolerate it's outright Lies. There are so many lies being told by Obama and Biden and no one calls them on it! I can not ignore this and just vote for them out of complacency. Complacency is dangerous. I think with all the recent goings-on, we all want a change, but Obama standing over a Dem controlled Congress for the next 4 years is not the answer. We need some one to balance that nut, Pilosi. McCain/Palin is the next best thing to Huckabee. If I thought that writing in Mike Huckabee would not help the Dems to get elected, I would follow my heart and do so. I pray we can hold together what we knew as the United States of America and prevent it from becoming the United Socialist Republic of America. I want Mike in 2012!
Food For Thought: This E-Mail was sent to me so wanted to pass it along. No one seems to take notice that Obama smokes cigarettes, his parents both died at an early age and Biden has had two brain anurysims if the both died while in office that would leave Nancy Pelosi as President which is scary enough for anyone to absolutely must vote for McCain & Palin.
I agree with Arthur Gasch's comments & thank him for taking the time to spell them out [see Oct 5th @ 1pm] ~ although I support the McCain/Palin ticket, I believe we losing this race because we are spouting cliches rather than getting down to specifics & policy vision-casting. Why do Americans love Obama? Because he casts VISION and has energy to proclaim it. If McCain & Palin would stop focusing on the Dems & be the LEADERS they are called to be, the Republicans would be hard to beat. At this point, I believe it will take a national security issue to bring McCain into a strong competitive position. The "maverick" mantra is old.
I liked Sarah Palin from the very first time that I saw her. In my opinion, she did a better job of explaining what McCain stands for then John McCain did. Unfoturnately, Obama is the better debator with the BS than either Palin or McCain is, and presenting what people want to hear, regardless of the fact that he changes his stance on just about everything faster then the weather.. Is this country really that stupid to believe that he is going to do anything but raise taxes and drive this econmy down further. In my opinion if Obama gets in the current economy is going to look like an economic boom, and people will eventually reallize the drastic mistake they made. Both McCain and Palin need to back up their plans with clear facts and to take down Obama with clear facts. They should start with pointing out how the skits on Saturday Night live hit on the nose. McCain anc company attempted in 2005 and possibly before to reform Fanny Mae and Fanny Mac, and the democrats nixed it everytime. Instead the democrats supported fanny Mae and Fanny Mac, and got incredible kick backs from this deceitful government supported (mostly from the democrats). I understand that Obama got the second most kickbacks from Fanny Mae and Fanny Mac. No wonder the democrats supported this group that is at the core of the mortgage crisis. This bail out appears to save this group. Instead McCain and Palin needs to find ways to either close down Fanny Mae and Fanny Mac or clean it up to turn it in an honest government group to build up our economy instead of tearing it down. Are we sure that the bailout was actually pushed through by the democrats to bail out their own deceitful group, or did President Bush have the best interest of the country in mind?
How the fuck are you americans so fucking stupid! George W Bush did the same shit in 2000 and 2004 Republicans are fucking play you guys all, Sarah Palin is just way to get "mom" votes, we all know that. She overall is not good enough for VP, i dont get how you would feel better? She is racists and i mean come on you guys just lost 700 billion (George Bush and John McCain) supported, right now the CEO of 12 firms just gained 50k+ in their yearly gains. Dont you fucking see you are being conned!
