No, boys will be boys. If it's just their feelings being hurt, then it's fine.

when boys/girls do something they know is wrong they must pay for what they say or do. if you dont get caught you got away with it,but if you do get caught than bite the bullet. professional sports players have too!!!

THE TEAM MEMBERS THAT MADE THE VIDEO NEED TO LEARN THEIR LESSON, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE BASICALLY MAKING THREATS AGAINST OTHERS. IF THEY GET AWAY WITH SOMETHING LIKE THAT NOW, WHAT STOPS THEM FROM GOING FURTHER AND ACTUALLY HURTING SOMEONE.

The boys should be kicked off the team and not be allowed to play for South Effingham again on any athletic team. Letting them play Friday was a bad call. These were probably key players that coducted themselves badly. Whenever you have key players the coaches and anyone in the school system will bend over backwards to keep the boys playing. Suspending them from the field and doing community service is not the answer. They showed poor sportmanship and they do not derserve to play sports. THey are supposed to play on a team to learn to work together. It is embarrassing to have anyone know that we have kids or know of kids who go to South Effingham, becasue they condone this behavior.

I saw the video. It was not boys being boys. It was 7 minutes of obscenities. I believe the "f" word and the "n" word were used up to 50 times. Then they called out EC player names to perform sex acts on them. It was disgusting. Once they included them, then it became personal. How do you think those boys feel having their names exposed on the world wide web? It was not a case of good old fashioned rivalry. They went too far. I am embarressed by their behavior and I think they owe this entire county, the Board of Education and ECHS an apology. It makes Effingham look bad.

If these children were not football players, they'd have been charged with making terrroristic threats. Effingham should take this gang mentality seriously, so we don't evolve into another west Savannah.

Since I have not seen the video, I can only comment on what has been reported in the news. I don't know the extent of the trash talk and how "violent" it was and I am betting that others haven't seen it either, so I am not sure if it is fair to have viewers comment on a situation without all the info available to make an informed decision. With that said, these type of local rivalarys have been going since "the beginning of time" - it just so happens that this trash talking got taped and posted on the web.

What about the discusting comments that I had to hear when walking through Effingham School parking lot with my daughter to watch the game? Two wrongs don't make a right but it looks like all parties should learn a lesson here! I can block her from watching it on-line but I cannot cover her ears walking to the football game.

The boys in the video used several derogatory names and suggestions. They need to be punished. If they were not football players they would have had more severe punishments. If they were some one else they would probably have legal charges brought against them. The school needs to take this seriously. Letting them play in Fridays game was a very bad judgement call. They have no sportmanship and should not be allowed to play for the school. This goes beyond the normal team rivalry. This is has the potential to become something very dangerous.

I THINK THESE PLAYERS ACTED OUT BECAUSE OF THE RIVALRY BETWEEN THE SCHOOLS IN ALL SPORTS PLAYED OUT EVERY YEAR. THEY NEED TO ACT BETTER AND REALIZE THIS IS JUST A SPORT AND GAME AND THEIR CONDUCT IS ALWAYS BEING WATCHED. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WAS A VERY GOOD GAME GO MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who has ever coached or been around high school aged sports will agree that there are often things said in the privacy of the locker room that would offend many people. These young men are being treated unfairly and the entire team is being punished because one of them chose to publish a private team moment for all to see. I'm not from Effingham County and I have no connection to the team but I do feel that the person who is to blame here is the one who published the video without the teams, school, and players permission. Come on people, many of us say things in private or around friends that we wouldn't say otherwise. Especially if we knew those things would be out there for our mothers and grandmothers to see.

At the worse these young men used poor judgment. The adults find it necessary to solve the use of poor judgment by taking away the positive activity (football) and giving the young men more free time. I say allow the football coach to decide the punishment. A few more conditioning drills would be fare more influential to these young men than community service. Hopefully the young men involved will use this free time differently or at the very least make sure none of the friends are videoing in the future.

I agree these kids should be punished. This type of conduct cannot be accepted, this is more than kids just being kids. Trash talking is one thing, but this exceeds what should be considered as acceptable behavior from our children. To say things in private is one thing but to allow this to be video taped and posted on the wed shows a total disregarded for common decency. The world we live in today is full of hostilities and hate, if we continue to allow this type of behavior from our kids "The Leaders of Tomorrow" neither our country nor our society will survive. This type of behavior is a symptom of our morale decay and our lack of values that should be taught within the family unit. If the people of our country would wake up and ask God to come back into our Homes, Family and Schools some of these type issues would be eliminated

I was so very proud of the Football Team doing so well this year in a higher class and with so many seniors gone. Now, I am sick by their behavior. My children go to SEHS they know exactly who did this. This was kids from 9-12 what kind of examples are these Children showing. My children simply say they were really stupid. I have to agree. One of my children is in the "Football Weights" class. And they are also being made to suffer the consequences of this video. Pranks have been played every year on each school by each school but this is just sick and stupid. They had to know they were going to get caught so maybe they really just don't want to play and this was their way out. So, lets let them out.

I feel that these boys, not men or even young men as their actions do not warrant such respect for those titles, should be punished dearly and deserve to be removed from the football team and banned from any other sport that they may wish to be on in the future. As a student from ECHS, the school desecrated by these idiotic remarks, you may see this as a revenge statement but you would be wrong. Having grown up with one of the students in the video I feel that his, along with their, actions should be punished dearly. Doing what they did not only made them look extremely stupid but made our county as a whole look bad. Do I feel that the entire team should be punished? NO!!! Only the boys responsible for the movie. The camera guy is not fully to blame as stated above but all involved as the kids obviously wanting it to go online to make my school angry. The principal is also to blame, as people should know our principal saw the video at lunchtime and called their school to tell their principal. He should have taken action then and made them watch from the sidelines instead of letting them play. I hope that these boys parents watch this and see they did poorly raising their kids and if they are GOOD parents they will take personal action to their son(s). I hope in the future this will be a lesson to both sides knowing that what was done was stupid and that there are consequences.

I think that all should have the same punishment if you were in the video you should get treated the same. Those that have the community service I bet they are they are the white students and maybe one black just for show. the south is just what people say the dirty south. why can't we all be treated the same. Yet you all hate blacks but when the summer comes you are in the sun trying to get our color.
