I do believe they will need to bail out the economy somewhat, but I don't think they have a clue as to how to solve the problem that got us here in the first place. We can bail them out today, but unless we reorganize and un-legislate the bad bills put in place, we kick the can down the road. Why do we need a National Commission on Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity? What is it that they do? How many offices like this occupy the Fed and are they just doing the same thing as ACORN, FreddieMac and FannieMae? GOP adjustments to Capital gains and other ideas need to be included. They NEED to fix the systemic problems in the long term to gain confidence in the market, not just put a band-aid on it. You need a surgeon to cut the disease, not send the patient home with an aspirin. I thank the House Republicans for their pointing out the horrible 20% that would have gone to agencies and activist groups like ACORN (the public isn't aware of just how they intimidated people and how they commit voter fraud enough), but we need to make sure that money goes to the right places and drop Fannie/Freddie from being owned by the government. McCain has said we need the right regulations, not just pile on regulations that don't mean anything.. That point needs to be hammered home day after day. They are KILLING him on the de-regulation business.. Am I the only one who thought that question by Katy Couric was out of line and just as ignorant as the Gibson "Bush doctrine" one? How was Sarah supposed to answer that. She didn't do a very good job of saying, "years of calling for deregulation? " then go into the bit about how John wants sensible regulation and oversight and that he has said that time after time. The public needs to hear that over and over again.. Ugg I get so frustrated... But I'm rambling, aren't I? That is all, thanks for letting me rant..
