Who is responsible for the mortgage crisis that precipitated the larger economic turmoil?



The homeowners who borrowed more than they could afford, eventually resulting in foreclosure.

The mortgage brokers and investment firms who sold them on irresponsible loans.

because I had to pick 1 selection before I could comment-I did. There is plenty of blame to go around but it boils down to 1 thing:GREED on BOTH sides.
Greedy financial institutions-lending$$$ to ppl who couldn't afford it & greedy ppl taking the $$$.
Why doesn't the govt bail out the small business owners who fail??? Why stop@fannie,freddie,lehman, & on ad infinitum? I am FURIOUS!!!that WE are being asked/forced, to bail out this bunch!!! Baloney=said nicely.
This country is run by wealthy ppl who help out other wealthy ppl who make the middle class pay. That includes all the welfare bums as well, while I'm on the subject-'nuff said-
