This picture(if it were to be the one used) is NOT a representation of David at his best. He looks sick with flu. I can’t believe all they have done in photo shoots and come up with this! UGH Poor David. I am sure David and Jeff will get final approval,but PLEASE not this! He has Thousands of pictures shot of him that are way better. PLEASE! arggh

I can't imagine people not liking this photo. He looks mature, handsome, and sexy all rolled up into one. I absolutely love it. I think it will help sell the album.

I really don't like that picture. When I look at that picture, I don't see David's personality.... that sweet, happy, loving guy that we all know and love. I really hope this isn't the picture they will choose for his debut album.

Let me first say, David is very photogenic and most pictures of him turn out great. This photo he is way too serious. He looks very tired, his eyes are not sparkling like they usually do in photos. David's best features are his sparkling, beautiful eyes and killer smile. There is neither in this picture. I think he should be smiling, because if you notice when he is smiling, which is most of the time, his eyes sparkle. David warmed our hearts from the beginning with his smile. Also, he needs to wear something that brings out his eyes, such as green. It will make a world of difference. I'm sorry, but this photo is just not the free spirit, happy go lucky, carefree young man David Archuleta is. David is happy go lucky and loves to laugh and smile, so that David should be on the cover.

Gosh...I just don't care for it. Definately NOT one I would've picked. Too hard.

I am commenting again, I just did a second ago. I was reviewing the picture again and its a beautiful picture, but I am sticking to my guns, its not David. He almost looks like he was forced to stand there and be serious. His face looks so chiseled in this picture, which is a good thing, but to me, its just not the David that I have watched and followed through this entire journey. Just look at this picture and then look at the one right above it, right next to the website title, Fans of David, and compare the two, the other picture is our Angel, smiling with sparkling eyes. Take a look.

I absolutely love it. Yeah David may seem a tad serious but that picture is smokin. That dreamy look in his eyes just melts you and I feel that he looks more grown up in the pic. Perhaps a hint of the nature of the music on the cd?

If this is the best they can come up, we're in serious trouble. David is one of the most gorgeous guys on the planet, and this picture is fair to be kind. They must have taken a thousand pictures before they found one that wasn't downright breathtaking.

We've been happy that Jive wasn't trying to remake David and were allowing him to be himself. This picture shows a David that I don't know. I like the real David much, MUCH better.

Please, tell me they aren't going to use this picture on his album. It's okay, but David is so far past okay, it's not funny. Not a good look for our guy. If they want serious, let's go for stunningly handsome serious. That would be a better choice.

I say he looks incredibly hot in this pic!! I know we like him smiling but when he sings he is very serious and I think this pic totally shows the deep dimension to David!! IMHO his eyes have this super deep quality to them and this pic really shows that off. I think this will help sell the album to those who wouldn't otherwise buy it. He is not sweet Disney material but a serious singer/songwriter to be taken very seriously!!! Yes, I LOVE this picture of David!!!!

I agree with Abrra, Evelyn, Lisa and archangel48. This is not the David we've come to know and love. I think they were trying to make him look "mature" but he ended up looking surly and defensive. His body looks waaay bigger than it really is, his posture is not the best, and the stretched letters "I" and "T" make me think of prison bars. I really hope this is NOT the album cover.

Archulicious...I must say I'm not accustomed to seeing David looking so serious, and I have seen better pictures of David (case in point, the pictures posted on FOD on today's earlier thread). On the negative side, it doesn't show off his beautiful eyes which are so captivating, nor his beautiful smile which is heartwarming. Overall, though, it's very good. I've never really seen a bad picture of David. He's gorgeous any way you look at it...

I am not sure if this is the album cover, but I like it. It says "don't mess with meh". A sweet smiling picture would not go well with 'Crush'. Case in point, the one they used for iTunes. The redness of this cover screams "look here and pick me up". All in all, pretty hot.

And I totally disagree with those who say this isn't the real David we all grew to love. This is exactly the soulful, mature, deeply intense singer that we all saw in Apologize and When You Say You Love Me. Love the color, the look, the style. Perfection. Sure, we all love and admire David's smile and sunny side. But you cannot deny the mature, soulful side either. This photo conveys depth and power, and we all know the power of the Archuleta.

Second time around for me...the only other thing that I noticed when I went back and took another look at the picture...don't really mind the serious look. It portrays David as a serious artist, not some cutsie Disney clone. But David has beautiful black hair and, in this case, his hair blends into the background so you actually don't even see his hair. A lighter background would be better, in my opinion and his hair should be more "spiked"...(longer & spikier)...
I like David in black (like the jacket he wore on Ford Day), so the ideal picture for me would be a black outfit (red background would be OK to catch your eye) and spiked hair (similar to what he wore post Idol but before the tour)...

We love David and we'll buy multiple copies of his CD regardless, but we hope they do not decide to use this picture. A little smile would have been perfect, even using the pose of David at the end of his Crush video where at the porch railing he looks up at his "crush" with that coy even sexy smile. Really any smile of David's is perfect and if they wanted a serious pose they could have picked one a little less intense. They also made David's eyes too dark above and underneath, he just looks unhappy.

P.S. David could never look like a thug, they should have worded the last option differently, something like: I'd prefer a picture less intense!

Marylee, I agree with you that David wants to be taken for a serious, legitimate artist and not some Disney clone. I'm sure David had more than a passing involvement in the selection of this pic - IF this is in fact the album cover. I feel this picture conveys the sense that David is a genuine talent with a lot of credibility as an artist and should be thought of as such. the time for cutesy images is in the past , and admittedly we love that side of David but this is time to make a definitive statement of intent on the part of David the artist; that his music should be taken seriously and that he's a man now with a certainty as to what and where his musical direction should be. I think we should rejoice in the maturing of David and this pic is just a step along that path.

I don't really like this pic of David. It doesn't represent who he really is...sweet, friendly, inspiring, etc... There are other photos where he looks mature and still radiates these qualities. But no matter what pic they choose, I'll buy the album of course! I can't wait for it to come out!

At first I was shocked, then I thought it was very mature and intense. I do see some sadness. What's throwing people off is just how serious it looks. But a smiley pic just wouldn't have worked.

He's really been in a bind these past months. He's been picked over like a carcass. The media has picked on his breathing, his lip-licking,his blinking,his giggling,his outstretched hand,his father,etc. He's too boring,he's too goofy. Haters hated the serious ballads, then he does a fun pop song and they say he should've done a slow ballad. Smile, don't smile. Wear this, not that. Make a John Mayer album, no make a Josh Groban album, no make a One Republic album. He's been hugged and cheek-tweaked and "awww"ed to death.

If his expression on this cover conveys any weariness I can't imagine why...

by the way....I KNEW this was gonna happen. "This is not the David I loved". It has happened every single year since Idol started. Expectations through the roof and then massive disappointment. It's happened to me too. Maybe we should re-think this whole "Idol" concept. David is not our possession, our child, our saviour. Some non-fans have had quite a few giggles over how some of David's fans treat him like the Second Coming. It's not funny. I myself have had some serious "worship" over the past months. The fact that some of us are so concerned about how David will be received by the public just shows how much we need to let go a little. The Universe will ultimately decide how it wants things to go for David, with what's best for his development in mind.
I seriously hope that those that don't care for one picture still go out and buy a dozen copies of the cd. I'm sensing there are fans writing him off as I type. That would be sad.

Rob - David's fans would NEVER write him off! It's fair to say David's fans are somewhat protective of him, but it's only because he is loved so much! We'll be happy with whatever David decides.

Also, if these fansites are not looking for opinions they shouldn't post these polls. Sounds like they actually want to hear feedback from the fans.

There are a gazillion better pictures of David. Look at any one of the many stunning pictures of David taken by our very own FOD fans--not posed, like this one, but natural and "real." This picture borders on David looking sad and tired, not serious and mature. And I'm not getting the stripe from the "i" running up the page. It distracks from the picture. Please try again.
