Did MAYHEM live up to your expectations?

I turned the channel halfway through.

Oh that? It was ok.

Good way to start season 4. MAYHEM was as good as CM usually is.

Great...Definately one of the top five episodes of this show.

Best CM episode ever! Glad I cancelled all my plans for Wednesday!!

I thought it was a very exciting episode, with caveats. While I disregard most of the big leaps and clearly nonprofessional, impractical or improper actions by the team in the effort of storytelling, I was really rubbed the wrong way with Morgan’s histrionics. The point of emergency security measures is that they are designed to prevent the most casualties, and if that means someone dies in the name of the greater good, well that is what law officers and the military are trained to know and believe. Yes, yes, it was very emotional when Morgan argues with the chief security officer in order to go help Hotch and the dying NY agent, but he was 100% wrong and if the chief had been doing his duty, he would have had his men shoot-to-wound Morgan to stop him from entering the secured area. The same goes for the ambulance getting into the hospital with Hotch and the wounded NY agent. Oh, how human the FBI security guards were to want to save the agent. No, no ,no! Their mission was to secure the hospital in order to protect their VIP, period. I was gritting my teeth by then, yes, allowances have to be made for dramatic purposes, but in a world, not to mention NYC, dealing with terrorism, this was simply wrong. The same goes for Morgan going off heroically with the ambulance and the bomb. I almost gave up on CM right there. I do not want some heroic maniac speeding around with a bomb in a vehicle passing my place of business or home. All in all, I think the show and the character’s purpose are better served when they are working cases with individual unsubs rather than being part of the bigger FBI picture as regards to terrorism. Morgan can heroically talk down as many serial killers as he wants and I’ll believe in his character. He can get all teary and be the strong silent hero to as many people sitting on a car bomb device as he wants and I’ll catch my breath and hope he survives. But, I think the writers went too far out of the zone for this to be a believable episode and possibly, disregarded current security training for all of us living in a world of terrorism to the point of being reckless. I thought it was a good show. I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to seeing how the relationship between Hotch and Morgan resolves itself. Hotch seems to be mad at Morgan. Morgan was just wanting Hotch to ask him not to leave the team and he didn't. Morgan would never be able to handle all the politics involved in being the leader of the team. He is their action man. I hope he doesn't take the job in New York, but something is going to have to change between him and Hotch for them to work together.
