my entry i believe was better, but in hind sight you would have to be aware of the saying, "open mouth insert foot". i did enjoy submitting however !

My sentiments exactly to the above comment. Reading some of the others makes me think your choices are random as opposed to a judgement. Call it what you will but sour grapes are on my plate tonight.

none of the entries deserve a HA-HA, but all deserve a HE HAW...

I totality agree with Don & Richard. If I have to pay $1.50 for a Sunday paper, I expect to see a better selection of caption's to choose from. Hey Mark, I feel the same about my caption, but I won't stop trying.

i tried to submit my idea for a caption several times, on more than one computer and more than one browser, but Parade's server was always a no-go. my idea was "oh honey, i was hoping for Louboutin's" [trust me your female readers would get it.] anyway i'm recusing myself from voting as i would have hoped to have been in the running...hopefully i'll have better luck posting this comment.

I may be mistaken, but I thought I sent in the first one that reads red pumps size 9 please... I emailed parade to check and see if they made a mistake by saying Gary Q sent it... But come on people, Jo Ann K's is very funny and witty. Her funny bone must be working over-time...

"are you still opposed to the catch-and-release program" must have not been funny or insightful enough.

Every week since they started doing this I summit something but it never goes to the "finals". But who could blame them im only 11 years old. But I agree most of them aren't ever that funny.

Oops, I was too late to submit the following caption: "You said fishing would be easy, and I see that, for you, it's a shoe-in!" Out of the ones submitted for voting, I agree that the "one-footer" is the best.

I will agree with most of the previous comments. None of these seem to really catch me in a roll-in-the-aisle bellylaugh, so I haven't voted. Why choose between mediocrity? Maybe they need another category for "None of the Above", and if that category "wins", then NOBODY wins the contest, and we ALL win when they decide to get a little better at choosing entrants! I find it particularly irksome that of the 10 entries, 2 are related to catching the lady a pair of pumps, and 2 are related to a shopping alternative. Surely, enough people entered that you don't need to settle for having so very similar captions.

I thought my caption "that if this is your idea of stink bait, you have a closet full of it" was better than any of the finalist.

I too could not get on to the Parade website to vote (and I tried many times) but here is the caption I would have sent: "We've been out here all day and you said we'd leave after you caught something, well you've caught someting, so let's go. "

Mark S and I were in the same area. Mine was, "I told you that stink bait smells just like your dirty socks!" Guess I'll have to go back a cut some more bait.

I like the caption I sent better than those you chose................. "THATS THE MATCHING SOCK TO THE ONE YOU CAUGHT LAST YEAR!"
