Are you angry about XM Fungus and Sirius Punk being replaced?

Fungus is best rock channel on XM. Regular programming, good mix of new and old music. My favorite regular shows are Kowabunga for surf music, and heehaw hell for rockabilly. You can't find those music types often.

While I'm not a Fungus listener, I am annoyed any time XM or Sirius dedicates an entire channel to only one artist. Currently, UPOP 29, The Move 81, and now Fungus are gone just to make room for AC/DC & Metalica. I do enjoy music from both of these bands, but if I only wanted to listen to these two bands, then I would just use a CD or iPod.

I guess there wasn't enough AC/DC on terrestrial radio? When do we get a Led Zep channel?

XM/Sirius have a lot of nerve pushing a continuous commercial for one washed up band of Australian drunks as a "station". Their pollsters should tell tham that the kind of cretin that likes AC/DC can't afford to buy a satellite radio on the money that an oil change place pays.

I don't mind these single artist micro-channels, but keep it to a single artist at a time and put on whatever channel that wasn't used. Replacing Fungus is not the best move. Why couldn't they be on the same channel as Metallica a month of them was enough. However, I'm hearing a lot of ACDC songs I've never heard before, so it can't be all bad.

I'm a Sirius subscriber, but also got a XM internet radio account strictly for Fungus 53 and The Virus 202, hope O & A get renewed.

When sat radio was first proposed, one big attrachtion was the many "niche" channels offerings. Certaintly XM Fungus/Sirius Punk fall in that catagory. What happend to all the so-called benfits of the merger, such as: "The merger is in the public interest and will provide consumers with greater flexibility and choices," (FCC Chairman Kevin Martin) and "“.... we look forward to integrating our best-in-class management teams and operations so we can begin delivering on our promise of more choices and lower prices for subscribers" (Mel Karmazin, CEO of SIRIUS XM Radio)? Now we get a monopoly, the customer gets screwed.

I started out with sirius until I found XM had Fungus, so I got two radios, one in car and one portable, with XM. Then sirius got a decent punk channel. Now both sirius and XM have replaced their punk channels with AC/DC. What gives? I'm hoping that they are simply planning on having an adult access category where they'll lump in things like punk, gangsta rap, and Howard Stern. If not, kill me now.

I like acdc, but not to hear it all day long. Plus there are about ten rock stations, why take off the only punk station off the air. BRING BACK THE PUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Sirius 29 the Punk channel first came on the air I was hooked. It had energy and virtually no interruptions between songs. Eventually a few host dj's were added and they spun seldom heard or out of circulation as well as favorite tunes. It was all good! I did not ever need to turn the channel as the music was all from a genre I always liked and missed from my past that the droning fm radio stations always ignored. Now Sirius/XM deposed of it in favour of an all AC/DC channel...unfortunately some bands don't know when to retire! So they say that they will keep playing Punk on some of the other stations...only problem is it's far and few between the emo and rap crap! Shouldn't take long for my radio to wear out from constantly changing the channels not to mention my production at work will take a hit from the distraction of doing so! I believe Sirius seriously underestimated the amount of people that listened to Punk 29 as well as the XM offering and hopefully will be flooded by irate e-mails demanding the station back.

This is the kinda shit that will be the death of SATRAD. I was a dual sub, and ended up dropping Sirius due to the better dance programming on XM. Sirius Dance stations shortened the depth of the playlist to zilch. XM then has the nerve to axe the best dance channel THE MOVE, which truly has no equal even on the internet. They took away Upop, and now this crap. DO NOT PULL REGULAR CHANNELS TO MAKE ROOM DAMN GROUP. Use a sports channel for this purpose. I AM VERY CLOSE TO GIVING UP ON ANY RADIO PERIOD AND GOING STRAIGHT MP3. Say goodbye soon XIRIUS

The most retarded thing they could ever do. Fungus 53 is what brought me to XM Radio. Now that it's gone there's no reason to renew my subscription. Whoever came up with the idea of trashing Fungus needs to be bitch-slapped.

I'll be canceling my XM as soon as it expires if Fungus doesn't come back. Fuck XM! I supported the merger with Sirius because I thought it would increase programming then they turn around and stick it in their customer's ass! I hope they go bankrupt and have to sell their children into prostitution!

sucks they took fungus of the air. I was really bummed for a few days - That is what I listened to everyday while at work. After a few emails to xm I found they are not bringing back Fungus. If you are like me and sit at a computer everyday check out Pandora or Slacker radio. Both are free w/ limited commercials and they build a channel off of your musical tastes. They have a very good variety of Punk rock old and new. Screw paying xm I have found my new source of music and best of all it is free. BTW They both offer portable players as well but are quite expensive still.

I bought XM for SQUIZZ and FUNGUS - am/fm just don't give me what I need - too much censorship. If I wanted Metallica or AC/DC, I would buy the CDs. BRING FUNGUS BACK!

They play ac/dc on a bunch of other channels. Why pull the only channel that plays ska & punk for this baby boomer old time rock crap?

I listened to fungus almost exclusively in my workshop, it kept the pace up. I am a 45 yo that has been hooked on punk for 30 years now. I suppose I will try a few other XM stations, then cancel my account. Pity and Shame -T

I am really p/o'd about Fungus53 being cancellled ! Not only was it the main reason I signed up for XM in the first place, I just bought my daughter a reciever for her car and Fungus was her favorite station ! Happy Birthday here's your radio, sorry you can't listen to your favorite station !

fuck you xm...i just bought a new car and got a three month trial and fungus was the ONLY good station, I was going to pay for a scrip for that station alone, not anymore, fuck them....and ac/dc...reallyy?? how many metal channels does xm have already that play all that crap? and they take away the one and only punk station.....FUCK THEM

FUCK XM. for seven years I have spent my entire day driving. all day. every day. with only am/fm radio in a company truck. I had long since given up hope on punk and just plain music in general, when I discovered my savation in fungus 53. then my sanity was stolen by a bunch of corporate cunts. fuck them. fuck their children. fuck their entire family. fuck their money. fuck their careers. Imagine turning on the Discovery Channel only to find an all Dallas soap opera marathon for 6 months. Set aside space for artist specific channels or don't do them at all. Contact Sirius and complain. Maybe if they get enough complaints they will realize how big a screw up they made and fix it before its too late. No punk channel; no subscription next year.

I am also not happy about the loss of our beloved Punk channel. While it didn’t always give me what I wanted, it was great to have it. And no, the Faction channel doesn’t even compare. I’m not a kid either–I’m 38 and my boyfriend is 40, he’s also very disappointed. If there’s any channels you want to complain about losing, definitely give a call to Sirius Programming at (202) 380-2000. If there’s enough complaints there’s a chance they’ll do something about it. I am very disappointed. First they take the punk channel and turn it into 24/7 ACDC. Then they lie to me (and many others who phoned or wrote to complain) and said punk would be back. Now more good channels are gone. How many talk channels do we need? Do subscribers really want channels that only play one band? Recession or no recession they have shot themselves in the foot, the only advantage they have is being the only show in town. And yes I pay for radio when I am a trucker in Canada where there are no stations at all the satellite can be great. Well it was great, now I have over 100 channels of junk I don't want to hear. But I still have Ellis, Howard (yawn) and half a dozen one band stations :( I will cancel by the end of January if no improvement.
