"Chasing the kids" should NOT count as exercise, it is considered an "activity of daily living". Unless of course your child is on the track team and you are chasing him/her around the track each day. Putting your child in and out of the swing and watching them play at the park is part of living. Cleaning up after kids and doing their dishes is not exercise it is part of our daily activities. Pushing kids in a stroller, taking laps around the soccer field during practice, hiking, doing situps/leg-lifts on the floor while the kids are watching a video that is all exercise! It is far to easy to say "I just don't have time", when everyone can find "some" time each day to devote to exercise. It just needs to be a priority and put on the "schedule".
