Honestly I think that he handled this whole thing extremly well. Anyone that says he didn't is full of bull...I would like to see him run for president one day
After the Katrina debacle, I can't fault Gov. Jindal for sending the troops down to help during Gustav. With meteorologists calling it the "mother of all storms", one would have to err on the side of caution. If the Governor hadn't sent troops in, and if the storm had been as bad as forecasted for N.O., many would have been out to impeach Jindal. Under the circumstances, it seems he reacted quickly and efficiently to central Louisiana's disaster. Kudos to Governor Jindal :)
Governor Jindal did an ok job. An the reason I said that is because we are having too many people evacuate an these people did not receive the appropriate assistance to evacuate. I feel that these people should have received a temporary card with $200.00 on it. This would have allowed them to get out of town until they can receive assistance from the government. A large number of people used rent money and other money to evacuate for Gustavo they did not have the money for Ike. Some people are still without food because they made too much money to receive the food stamp assistance. The food stamp assistance should be for everyone. Even though you make a penny above poverty doesn’t Mean you have insurance. One of my friends made $6.00 too much and could not get the food stamps so she had to go to payday loan to feed her children. This is not acceptable and should be changed. It is our money that go to these programs and when we need the assistance it is not available for us to use.
