Do you think the driving age should be raised to above 16 years old?

Why don't we just make it a law that no kid can do anything until they are 21. And if they do anything to hurt themselves we put the parents in prison for life.
I for one wouldn't trust any information an insurance company comes up with, and have no doubt however the states will cower to the insurance companies and stop 16 year olds from driving. Nothing is without risk and yes I have a 16 year old who is driving. The insurance companies should not be dictating laws to the states, we cannot send kids of to college who have just started driving.

No I dont think that we should raise the driving age. What is the difference in the 16 year olds driving with no experience and the elderly men and woman who are driving. They elderly people get in the fast lane and go way below the speed limit and swirve in front of people with out looking. I have been ran off the road and been almost hit by several elderly people than anyone. So if they are going to raise the age limit for driving then they need to take the elderly people off the road at a certain age too. and also a lot of teenagers go off to college at around the age of 17 so what are they suppose to do because if they raise the driving age then what are them 17 year olds going to do about going off to college?

YES . EVERY YOUNGSTER WANTS TO DRIVE ASAP--- BUT THE FACT IS THAT THE STATICS DON'T LIE. FOR WHAT IT MAY BE WORTH TO THE FIRST TWO YOUNGSTERS POSTING A COMMENT, I WAS PERSONALLY LICENSED AT AGE 14 -OWNED MY CAR AT 15 -HAVE DRIVEN OVER A MILLION MILES- SO FAR NO AT FAULT ACCIDENTS, BUT I HAVE DODGED MANY. NO, IT IS NOT FAIR TO PAINT EVERYONE WITH THE SAME BRUSH. THE BASIC PROBLEM WITH AGE AND LICENSING IS THAT OUR LEGISLATURE HAS NOT MADE LAWS TO REQUIRE DRIVERS EDUCATION FOR KIDS UNDER SEVENTEEN. I ALSO SPENT 34 YEARS IN THE INSURANCE BUSINESS AND CAN VOUCH FOR THE INDUSTRY. BELIEVE ME THE LAW NEEDS TO CHANGE. YOUNG DRIVERS HAVE BEEN RAISED IN A SPEEDY WORLD AND MOST DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF SPEEDING AND INATTENTION.. ALSO PUT DOWN THE CELL PHONES AND PROVE YOUR MATURITY.
