The more I think about it, and read the previous comments on the other poll, I don't want Sarah Palin to go on Oprah's show. Sarah will get all the good publicity she needs. By the way, I never watch Oprah anyway. I really liked a previous comment made to the effect that Oprah should make the offer to pay the travel expenses for all who want to leave the US. If she does, I think she should make it a one way ticket.

Starting as of yesterday, I will never watch her again. She is just going to far to the left for me;however, good luck to her in her future endeavors.I was beginning to have these opinions about her even before her latest decision. Sarah Palin is number 1 in my book. I did not even watch Obama on the Oreilly show, nor did I watch her show when Obama was on it. I have pretty much watched her show everday until yesterday.

I have been an Oprah fan for a number of years, not anyway. She has crossed the line with me. She loves Obama and Africa. Maybe she could fly over there and stay. I do not want to see Sarah Palin go on her bias show. Sarah will get enough coverage without dear, sweet, Oprah

Oprah should be reminded that she won't always be a star. She'll meet the same people on the way down as she did on the way up only this time we won't be impressed with her. She made a huge mistake when she went into politics.

I believe Oprah knew Obama would be running for president when she had him on her show. This machine has been in the works for a long, long time. I quit watching her show a few years ago when it became evident to me that she is only interested in promoting the black agenda. I just don't understand why some people are so enthralled with her.

I always felt Oprah was a biggot, I'm glad she is showing her true colors clearer. She may want to break out her burka a little earlier if she thinks OB is going to win. I've listened to the campaining enough now and with the comments I've been reading on Oprah, as an undecided, I now say WITH NO HESITATION, "Go MCAIN/PALIN."

As a previously self declared champion of women, Oprah's actions clearly demonstrate she values race over gender. She interviewd many guests she didn't fully agree with, yet she won't even consider hearing from Sarah Palin, a woman who is literally making history and deeply affecting the Presidential election. Sarah Palin may very well become the first woman President of the US. Palin's and McCain's speechs, after all the media build up for Obama's speech, still beat the American public in viewership. More people tuned into Palin speech and McCains speech than Obama's. Her credibility is shot, with a self-inflicted fatal wound.

Oprah uses white woman to make her millions, along the way, she have always dices black men and black women to achieve her goal. She is "A" typical black woman who wear the elitist cloak very well -- because they think they have beaten the white establishment at their game but, like Barack Obama or Michael Jackson to O J Simpsom and Clarence Thomas, they lost their soul along the way because they now despise from where they came and what they have to go though to be where they are; they despised their very own background and, their Blackness. Blacks have always felt this hence, the low viewership among blacks for the Oprah Winfrey show. Now, she is trying to bite the hands that feels her and, she might pay a price or she might not; whichever way, she might not give a damn -- thanks to white women; she has lol all the way to the bank!.

Oprah is going nowhere but Down now. And America certainly doesn't need Oprah to come to know Sarah Palin. In this short time she is ALREADY a bigger, brighter, shinier TRUE STAR than Oprah could ever be.

Oprah won hearts of American women not by being black, rich or famous. She did it by seemingly speaking from her heart to ours. She won our trust by being more, than her own race, fame or money. But now, even though she is entitled to her own political views, or preferences, but given her status and what Oprah means to millions of women, by her own choice Oprah is narrowed herself down to "her race first" kind of woman. Oprah's emotion for Obama is strong, and she is too smart not to see a real threat to "her candidate" in giving a platform to Sen. Palin to speak to millions of her viewers. Oprah is putting her emotions before millions of women, who made her.

Oprah has gone down hill as far as I'm concerned.... startiing back to when she got seemingly peeved @ Gayle King for interviewing Oprah's dad as a surprise for Oprah... Oprah really seemed peeved and embarrassed. He lives modestly in Memphis & is a barber. She has gotten too big for her britches, so to speak.

It will not really matter, but what is really important is what happens with the Congress. That is what we really need to pay close attention to in this election. The president is only one man, and if there is a difference in the parties between the president and the Congress we will still have problems. Why can we not realize that we need some real change in our country? Why can the parties not work together and try to make some changes that will help the entire country. We have to find a way to make changes that will help us all. Oprah is just strong enough to make a choice, and you have to respect her for her decision, I do not agree with all of Oprah's views, but in life that is the case. I still think that she has done what is right to help people both in this country as well as other countries. I truly hope that this election has created a society where everyone feels that they can get involved in shaping what can happen in this country. DOPE - I have had a great career for many years. What Ella said made sense to me. I think Oprah is putting her emotions before her viewers. She seems biased, arrogant and deceptive. She led women to believe that she was an advocate for them. Why else would she not want to have two very interesting and strong women on the show like Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin? It is also foolish to think that anyone would really believe she had Barack Obama on not as an attempt to introduce him as a potential presidential candidate. When I stopped watching Oprah years ago, it was due to her bias and racism. She says she's promoting women but she is only using them for her own gain. She's nothing but a phony pretending to be someone special. She believes she is so elite, that no one can touch her and that she can do anything and get by with it. It will catch up to her though, big time. When I first saw Sarah Palin, I knew I was looking at someone REAL and special in ways that Oprah will never know. I go to Alaska every year and I know what kind of people live up there where survival is so important. Living up there breeds very strong, determined good people, not the "hollywood crowd, celebrity" types that buy everything and everyone. Sarah will bring a huge amount of that good quality with her and that is just what this country needs,to get back to the regular, normal people and their core beliefs, not the phony people who say one thing and do another.

I have turned her show off forever. I am a former long term fan. Angry that I didn't see this coming sooner. Years ago, she was an informative, humble, respectful talk show host. Then a few years ago, things started to change. Today, she is hardly the same person. She is biased, arrogant, deceptive, out of touch and not a friend to women or families. No way am I watching her show. No way am I reading her magazine. I do hope Beck will write more books, because I like most of what she says. For good articles check out the many other women's magazines out there. A good an interesting one is called MORE. However, I for one will never again believe someone as being sincere simply because they say they are. Actions speak louder than words. Oprah's actions of late, and particular this last one are screaming her hatred. I guess when you get older, it is harder to hold your breath and even your bodily functions. She needs to get off the air and get some help. She is off my tv and her candidate is off my radar.

I'm white, 47, female. I haven't in any way followed Oprah, and haven't since about 1999, but I believe I can identify with why her whole persona changed. Power demands assertiveness. Oprah started controlling her weight successfully. She grew more confident. Who wasn't happy for her when that Stedman hunk started courting her? We were all in it together....I thought. Real sisterhood that felt the blows from the beast we called "Man". I was shocked when tabloids had articles questioning what Stedman saw in her. Latter, I noticed her "psyche", appeared to be changing. The race bias was openly discussed. I began to feel an unexplainable need to tell all black women I loved that I was sorry I had enslaved them. I have never knowingly enslaved anyone. Nor would I want to. Oprah's experiences with some white, arrogant males were obviously a power base type struggle with people who hated the thought of a black woman succeeding on her own. She was learning from her On the Job experiences, and she didn't need as much input from people who wanted to help. She thanked them for their help, took more control of her show, and the ones who loved her understood she was becoming empowered, and didn't need them anymore. The ones who wanted to profit from her were the ones she talked often about. I remember she talked often about people wanting to chose how she wore her hair, or how she dressed. My work environment made me aware of what it felt like to be denied opportunity and respect because of my skin color. A black man from Atlanta (big city) to (little town) transferred to my job sight, and began to attack me with an unparalleled, focused anger towards me that I had never experienced from anyone before. I thought it might have been because I was always happy, loved all my co-workers equally, and loved God. I came to realize he just didn't like white people who were, "beneath him" on the chain of command. He had power over me, and he threatened my job every day. For the first time in my life, someone scared me. He controlled me, and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it. I withstood him for two years. Then I got hurt on the job and couldn't cope with him emotionally. I retired on disability. Worse decision of my life. I realized I could continue to give an audience to people who try to tell me I'm a racist, when I'm not. Or I could just turn them off. My heart hurts for the people who have obviously been put down, and I do understand how easy it is to hate a person of a different race when they are so obviously biased against you. But I don't understand people who hate me just because I'm white. And I will never hate the African American race because one black man hated me. Now I have my own experience I understand somewhat how hatred can fester. Then I stumble on a sight like this one and I read the hateful things each race says to the other when they're confronted on their biases. The one gives a justification for hating, the other gives a "lay off me, I didn't enslave you", and gives the, "get off drugs and welfare spew". And within all the unspoken nuances, both sides are obviously suffering from frustration that the other race can't see their equality, their innate goodness, and I'm sure both sides have felt undeserved insult. It's sad and it makes me physically ill to witness such hatred briefly revealed, in secrecy. This type forum allows us to speak our true minds, without being seen. No repercussions. We snarl at each other and for a few seconds we become: Who's playing games here? Get over it. Get a grip. You are evil. I've got all ideas the people who wrote the words above are nice, successful, intelligent people. If not, I have to wonder what drove them to feel such hatred and rage towards others.
