I believe this man is a sexual preditor whether da parents or da girl filed charges or not. I bet they got paid off with our hard earned tax dollars to keep quiet. If he is an example of or safety in Elyria we are in big trouble. How can we tell or children and grandchildren to trust the police when they are getting away with this type of behavier. Everyone knows they cover for thier own but my god what is this place coming to when you can"t even trust the people you pay to keep you and your family safe, our taxes pay for this type of person to live off us. I think it"s just sick. If he wasn"t a police officer he"d be in big ass trouble. This is just another example of tax dollars being wasted. And they wonder y we da people don"t want to keep paying more taxes. This girl and her parents u no got paid off with our hard earned money. Look at what they did to clinton and she was not underage. This man needs to be prosecuted like anyone else in our city would b. Just goes to show you trust nobody but yourself. Very disappointed with our system. I wish his wife could read all the comments I"m sure she and we deserve better than this. I have worked in this town all my life and paid my dues but this man don"t have to abide by our laws. maybe we should all become police officers so we can b above the law. It"s very sad that our own town we grew up in has stoupped to this leval. I would really rather move my family out of here if I could. But some of us do have respectable livings to make. Just da normal ol Joe. I guess being in da police dept. is da best job in da city.

I have been charged with a crime ;spent my time just like every one else has to do and I really don't know why the State didn't get involved in this one; is it because he was a cop,? everyone should be treated as the same in every crime that they coment Justice has not been done with this one and it really should be

I know 3 people in Lorain County that had the same kind of crimes and all of them had to serve their time plus they are now considered as sexual offenders for the REST of their lives; is this right? There is no difference between any one, we all should be treated the same no matter what kinda job we have or who we know. How can the people of Elyria feel safe with a sexual offender being part of the police department. Arn't we soppose to look up to them and trust them? Thank you Elyria Police Department for not abiding by the laws, and making me and my family feel less safe now. How can I let my 17 year old out of the house without thinking shes going to get pulled over and sexually abused by a police officer? This comes to show that the courts are not protecting any of us.

I agree with Craig, if Eric would have been a normal citizen he would have recieved jail time and also would have been marked for life as a sexual preditor.
And people wonder what is wrong with this world. Just goes to show you that you can't trust anyone, not even a man in uniform.

This cop should be fired. im so sick of cops getting away scot free on this stuff. fire his ass, jail time, a registered sexual predator. thats what a normal citizen would have reciedved. but no he's a cop so "he's above the law" he's still a freak who made out with somsone who could have been his childs age.

are u kidding me! a married detective, youth bureau, underage girl, in full E.P.D. uniform, and all he gets is ten days off? give me a break. special treatment doesn't even begin to explain that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was treated fairly. There was no special treatment. The store nor teh girl pressed charges which tells me a lot.

i don't believe that if eric was just a john doe on the street that this would have gone to court. they only pursued charges against him because as an example because he is a cop. eric is a good man and he made a mistake, don't we all make mistakes. he should not have been charged in this matter.
