every one's family goes through something and all children make mistakes of different degrees. you can't undo what's been done, the important thing now is how the situation is handled with the best interests to the girl and her unborn child, which her mother can take care of herself without the judgement of others and media scrutiny

No, the pregnancy of her daughter itself is not the issue... that is a private family matter... I do feel that Vice President of the United States is a huge responsiblity which will take away from her family. I whole heartly support woman's rights, careers for mothers and there shouldn't be a double standard when it comes to the husband staying home. With that said, I feel her specific family situation is a lot for one parent to handle and though she may have been able to have a playpen in her office as Govenor, I can't imagine being able to have the same flexiblity as Vice President. This is not a double standard. I would say the same if a man had the same situation.

My opinion of Mrs. Palin does not change. She is able to relate to the average family: she has a child with special needs, a teen daughter that is pregnant & has a son that will soon be going off to Iraq. When children become teenagers you can have all the talks and discussions about premarital sex but some teens will do it anyway. She just happened to end up pregnant but I commend her for making the choice to keep the baby & get married. I also commend Mrs. Palin for no considering abortion once she found out that her baby would have Down's Syndrome

It is a testament for all young women not to have abortions, to make careful decisions and the outcome of those decisions go bad take an adult responsiblity and that is what they did. It also serves an example to all families the roles of parents to support their children when they don't use good judgement. The important isssue is: Obama stated the he would not allow his daughter to be burden by a baby if she made a mistake. He supports abortion. I admire the Palin family and what they stand upon, faith, love, and family. This makes her more than qualified to understand Americans.

The media frenzy is like a bunch of Pharisees around Jesus! On second thought... YES, it does change my opinion of VP candidate Sarah Palin. I applaud her apparent influence on her daughter, not to mention her own apparent convictions with regard to life. Rather than the poor daughter having the baby put to death (er~pro-choice) - for her "problem" as I believe Mr. Obama put it, she has chosen to allow the child to live... from conception on (you know - when the sperm and egg meet and life begins). And hooray for Sarah Palin, who also made a "choice"... to keep her baby, despite it being born with Downs Syndrome. This woman has a backbone, which is what this country needs! Thank you for the opportunity to "voice" my opinion.
