The RNC as of this afternoon 12:01 PM Pacific should cancel the convention. the nation will not be watching as Gustave is going to gome ashore. Now maybe the stuffed shirts running the RNC think they are so important that Americans will care more about posturing than about what is happening to their fellow citizens but they will be proven wrong. The Republicans will hold a convention where most of the speakers are no-shows and that most Americans won't care about due to the Hurricane. Get real RNC. McCain get out and lead. Be on site with Palin asap after the hurricane hits. Get her out talking about people so the nation can get to know her as a coservative and compassionate, strong woman.

Glynn B: Let me ask you a question..... Are you staying home from work on Monday because of the hurricane? Did you give up your activities today or will you anytime this week because of the hurricane? UNLESS people are going to go down there, which is crazy, we don't stop living our lives. We just buried a good friend last week. There are tradgedies all over the place that most of us have no control over. Maybe a diversion, like the RNC, will be good. I think it will be. I can't do a darn thing about the storm there or I couldn't when a tornado destroyed over the years 2 towns near me. All one can do, as we did in Church today, is pray for the people going through this. AGAIN, unless your going down to help in New ORleans or are staying home from work this week because of the storm, I personally feel you should be quiet.

I think they are doing the right thing in holding it. They just have to make sure focus remains on it. It is good that Bush and Cheney are not attending and staying back to cover their responsibilities. This works for them anyway... they were trying to separate themselves from this administration anyway, so now it all works out. Any Governor or Mayor that is from the area shouldn't be at the convention.

That is like asking if the President should cancel his dinner plans because he has gas. One of the stupidest moves ever. It was a hurricane, a force of nature and not even a good one at that. Why is it the government's responsibility to even get involved? Oh wait, I forgot. It isn't. Check the Constitution.
