Palin can win the next election? Let's wait.

I am totally so impressed with Sarah Palin, and so proud of my state's Senator McCain for showing the judgment to choose her as his second in command. I wish the media would recognize that it is not so much what experience a candidate has as it is what he or she has accomplished with the opportunities and experience he or she has been given. I believe that Sarah Palin will learn everything she does not already know very rapidly. More importantly she displays the character qualities and values America needs in a leader.

  • Barbara - 17 years ago

I had become somewhat pesamistic about the future of our country.
I thought Obama was a shoe in. But after listening to Gov. Palin and Sen. McCain speak, at the Republican Convention, I have renewed hope for the USA.

  • Obama nit American citizen - 17 years ago

Janese .... YOU, need to read the history of the TRAITOR OBAMA. Obama is not only a traitor, believes in murdering down syndrome babies. a habitual liar, is totally corrupt, is friends with terrorists, and anti Americans. JANESE .... WISE UP. Obama isn't even an American citizen. Obama was born in Kenys, NOT Hawaii.

IF THIS IS TRUE.....McCAIN AND PALIN DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A THING...

  • Vicki - 17 years ago

PALIN is an excellent compliment to JOHN McCAIN. PALIN is as refreshing as it gets in politics. She'll do well.

Washington (Congress) is so threatened by her and McCain - because together, McCain and Palin will clean up the corruptness!

I hope McCain and Palin will be given the chance!

  • Eloise Poland - 17 years ago

The Dem Congress walked out and would not allow a vote on drilling for oil. What is wrong with these people? On top of this they are sending millions to states to study Beavers, and millions to study sex life of some over populated animal. These bills are attached to bills that we need.

EVERY Drop of money spent by the congress should be voted on by all the people in congress. No sliding something in.

We are sinking in debt people...stop spending...we are going down...don't you get it....

  • Janese - 17 years ago

You Palin supporters are fools. You need to read the history of this woman. And to vote for her just because she is a woman shows how ignorant you really are. God help us all.

  • Jorge - 17 years ago

Greta - add a question to your poll! DO YOU THINK MORE MALE DEMOCRATES WILL VOTE REPUBLICAN THAN FEMALE DEMOCRATES? I think this selection will get McCain 65-85% of the male vote. The Republicans need to get Sara Palin into every state they have a Senator or Congressman running! She's a rock star!

  • Judy - 17 years ago

God Bless America and miracles still are taking place! Just when one sees no light in the tunnel Sarah appears! I pray God gvies her the wisdom, courage and strength to get through this election and help turn this country back to what it needs to be.

    Hi Corrine,
Are you Corrine from the 'ol sneaky fox debates on the Father Phlegher blog along with GOP Todd from CA? Hope so. Was wondering if you have seen any writings from Todd on any questions?. I think the poor guy was so confused on choice and issues he stopped writing althogher. I thought he always had some very good points to share.

7 months ago we all said "Who is this Obama? So what is the difference in saying "Who is Sarah Palin?" The media has tried to spin everything against Hillary since she started, just because she is a woman. Now they are trying hard to take shots at Sarah Palin. The DNC had no backbone to stand up for Hillary. They would rather ignore us 18 million voters and go for the 9000 Biden voters because he is a man and for no other reason. We'll see who will vote for this unfair ticket at the polls. It won't be me. I would rather vote republican - the first time ever, since I am a democrat. It was disgusting how they wasted so much money on all the fancy pyrotechnics and huge Greek Obama temple at the DNC while the country is suffering economic hardship. The Obama camp never reached out to us, but rather whined about how the Hillary camp needed to reach out and bow down to them. I'm glad that McCain picked Sarah - she is a winner, and all of the men of the DNC are jealous that the republicans picked a competent woman not them like who totally ignored and bashed Hillary from the first day when they all ganged up on her at the first debate.

These are Obama's own words,"I am a believer in knowing what you're doing when you apply for a job," Senate-elect Obama had said."And I think that if I were to seriously consider running on a national ticket, I would essentially have to start now, before having served a day in the Senate. There might be some people who are comfortable with doing that, but I'm not one of those people." He was asked this question in 2004 , when he had just won his seat. So what happened? How can they say he has more experience, when he himself said he was not ready for the very job he's running for today? We still do not know enough about this man, and certainly not enough to give the most important job in America!! What about his ties with Antoin Rezko? We as a people need to hold this man to his word, he said he wants to bring "change" to Washington, yet he chose an old time Senator, that's not change to me. John Mccain said he wanted to change Washington and he stood by his word by choosing Gov. Palin.

  • Earl - 17 years ago

I keep seeing comments about Obama's lack of experience. This is a refresher from the Library of Congress at http://thomas.loc.gov/. Obama’s record: During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced 233 regarding healthcare reform, 125 on poverty and public assistance, 112 crime fighting bills, 97 economic bills, 60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills, 21 ethics reform bills, 15 gun control, 6 veterans affairs and many others. His FIRST year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These include the following: 1. The Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law, 2. The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law, 3. The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, 4. The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law, 5. The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more. In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096! Further, Passed into law: >>>>U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL) and Tom Coburn (R-OK) today hailed the Senate's passage of the "Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act," a bill that will create a Google-like search engine and database to track approximately $1 trillion in federal grants, contracts, earmarks and loans. A bi-partisan bill that tracks spending to PREVENT the pork you talk about. >>>>The Lugar-Obama Act. Modeled after the Nunn-Lugar program that focuses on weapons of mass destruction in the former Soviet Union, the bill was introduced by Sens. Dick Lugar (R-IN) and Barack Obama (D-IL) to expand the cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons. >>>>The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007, (AKA the Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act) A compromise between legalization of illegal immigrants and increased border enforcement: it included funding for 300 miles of vehicle barriers, 105 camera and radar towers, and 20,000 more Border Patrol agents, while simultaneously restructuring visa criterion around high skill workers. The bill was never voted on. >>>>The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law. The Congressional Ethics Enforcement Commission Act would create an outside ethics commission to receive complaints from the public on alleged ethics violations by members of Congress, staff, and lobbyists. The Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act by which all earmarks, including the name of the requestor and a justification for the earmark, would have to be disclosed 72 hours before they could be considered by the full Senate. The Curtailing Lobbyist Effectiveness through Advance Notification, Updates, and Posting Act aims to improve public access to information about all legislation, including conference reports and appropriations legislation, in particular after hurried, end-of-session negotiations. There is much more, but I think that is enough to prove that he was actually doing what he was elected to do. He gets things done and has plans of doing more like specifically addressing all these products being manufactured in China. That is important to me... that is why he has my vote. I am sure Gov. Palin has great experience as a reformer, but don't discount Obama's efforts.

  • Andy - 17 years ago

I am a Democrat albeit a conservative one. I was already going to vote for McCain and hold my nose. Now I don't have to hold my nose. Sarah Palin is so likeable. She almost doesn't sound real but I know she is. I love her, but don't let my wife know. Actually I'm much too old for her as I'm close to Sen. McCain's age.

  • Joan - 17 years ago

I am a democrat who will be voting for McCain/Palin. They are the true reformers. Palin has concete accomplishments in challenging her party and bringing change. Energy independence and cutting earmarks will bring me my tax cuts and lower health costs. Obama/Biden never challenged anyone. Obama went along with everybody, including the Chicago machine. He has spent more than 1/2 his time in the Senate running for the Presidency. He is impressed with himself. Why doesn't he accomplish something concrete before he runs for the Presidency?

  • ann - 17 years ago

When choosing to vote for any candidate, you look at the individual that comes closest to living by and espousing the values you find important to you. It is rare when you find a candidate that matches your values exactly. So, you must prioritize the list they offer. John McCain was not my first choice-as I don't believe in amensty for illegal aliens, I am against more Free Trade, and I want the NAFTA agreement overturned, as it has devastated our country and jobs for Americans. But when I compared him to Obama, he was the only logical choice I could make. I think McCain, as President, will listen to the voices of the people as he has learned a lesson, when the Hill was brought to its knees with phone calls and faxes from irrate Americans over the McCain-Kennedy Shamnesty bill which gratefully, did not pass. Unlike Obama, whose general platform is fuzzy at best, but the few clear issues he has stutteringly stated, are so far from my soverign, American values, he can't even be considered. Keeping America free and a Republic,-not socializing our medicine, raising taxes, or taking money from businesses and redistributing it across the board ar the antithesis of the foundations our country was built upon. This is a Capitalistic society, where those who are willing to work hard, even two jobs have the ability do so. When do you reach a point where you take so much in taxes from people willing to break their backs to reach a better life, that you kill their incentive and then the try ways to beat the system? These are the most important issues that should be at the top of the list of priorities when voting a candidate in office. Pro-life or Pro-Choice should not be the weighing factor for putting a candidate in office that is suspect at best, won't provide his original birth certificate to prove he was actually born in Hawaii and not in Africa which has been suggested, and was never "vetted" for the highest office in our land by the Democrats. Compared to what is at stake, making a decision to place a candidate in office using the Pro-life, Pro-Choice issue as a deciding factor is ludicrous. Frankly, I don't think' to abort or not abort' should come under the purview of any political party. This is not a political issue, but a religious one which is a corridor political parties should not be walking down. Therefore;there should have been no legislation to begin with, where this issue is concerned. I, nor you, have the right to impose a subjective belief system on another whether it is Pro or Con. JohnMcCain and Sarah Palin are both Pro-lifers. So what? I don't think Roe vs. Wade will be overturned, simply because there are many conservatives who are also pro-life and if enough voices, petitions and faxes are sent to representatives (who tremble at election time that their cushey jobs might be taken away), who after years of ingoring their constituents have realized from the illegal alien issues, the oil crisis and this campaign, the lethargy that enabled them free-reign is over. Americans have finally woken-up and realized you can't let representaives run amok with their own agendas, ignore the once silent majority, and make back room deals without Americans screaming foul and holding them accountable to listen to YOU, the voter. There is a lot at stake here and with all the Pro-lifers who have been in office over the years, a lot of fuss and blithering has gone on, but Roe vs. Wade has still stood. Use common sense, not religious bias, and subjective values when casting a vote for America to remain free and stand sovereign.

So I guess you libs really aren't "pro-choice" as no politition can run by their own choice. They can't have thier own convictions.

John McCain is not trying to upscale the other political parties. He is putting his GREAT business sense to work for you, me and the other citizens of the United States, Dem's and Rep's and Indep's. It is all about taking care of our business which includes our United States and the rest of the world. No UP'IN..... Just taking the thousands and ten's of thousands of hours of his political, business and family career spent in meetings, gatherings and every other appropriate function, and taking the knowledge of those involved then setting plans and processes in play to better our future from all the past and present knowledge. John is not basing "how and why" on just him. Senator John has spent more time in learning, plotting, planning and discussing with all parties (Rep/Dem/Indep) in one year then Senator Obama has in his whole Senate career. Gov. Sarah just didn't show up at the office, she went to work and made great accomplishments.unlike the past years of Obama showing up and investing his time in becoming the President of our United States. It is appearing quite evident, that the Republican Team of John and Sarah, is presenting more value to our citizens of our United States of America. If they are not, the People of our United States will tell us differently. When the majority speaks, the majority will decidw on our leadership. We, on all three parties, want the best so please vote your good business sense. God BlessED America!!! Ken Vaughn Fort Wayne, IN

Pictures of Palin and McCain together, present an image and look of a trustworthy husband and wife team. When I look at Biden and Obama I ask myself, "What is wrong with this ambitious picture?" I buy books/movies/and c.d.s based on attractive covers and might vote that way too!

Welcome Gov. Palin to the sickening world of politics. How disturbing to me that the spreading of something like her daughter having this baby is being used against her. We knew about obama's friends but this about her is just filty gossip. Will people not stop at anything now a days??? She is tough enough to handle it though. I know if I was her, such a personal attack, would greatly hurt me. Their bringing in and attacking a young girl. Will the democrats stoop to even this now?????????????????

  • Corrine - 17 years ago

USA4EVER: I, like you, will NOT ever never vote for any man or woman who believes in abortion. I am an independant. I start looking at the candidates based on morality, integrity, honesty, etc. If you don't care for a tiny baby's life that candidate is NOT going to care about "my" life. Its sort of a trickle down thing. It starts with personal integrity.

  • President & V.P. - LITTLE DIFFERENCE HERE!!!!!!!!! - 17 years ago

Double Standard: Theres a bit of a difference between the Presidency and Vice Presidency. DUH! Obviously the people in Alaska know her well as she has an 80% approval rating. If you study what Pres & V.P. positions are about, this isn't even a real issue.

  • THE STUPID ARE ALIVE & WELL!!!!!!!!!!!! - 17 years ago

JODI: Yeh - I suppose your one of those stupid women that would kill your baby JUST because you can't keep your legs together. It isn't about saving the life of the Mom, its about birth control and irresponsibility. You can't get pregnant you dim wit by sperm falling out of the sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its because your having SEX and NOT USING PROTECTION YOU NIMROD!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE don't have kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of you so called "women" disgust me. Just because some of you stupid women and men have sex, get pregnant, maybe after getting drunk or one night stands.......... than go "OH MY GOSH" HOW DID THIS HAPPEN???????????????? The only women getting abortions are the stupid and or ugly!!!!!!!!!! A real woman who gets pregnant, and has to save her life is devastated beyond anything someone like you "JODI WITH A PEA BRAIN" could possibly understand. Dummies like you who have abortions should have that little babys body lay right on your belly so you can see the painful death it went through and how its legs and or arms are torn from its body. THAN I'd like to see that same punishment applied to those that have the aboritons. One day it will be a crime AS IT SHOULD BE!!!!!!!!! Jodi, YOU MAKE ME SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You sub human.

  • Jodi - 17 years ago

It doesn't matter if she is a woman or not, she lost me at "pro-life."

  • Double Standard - 17 years ago

For some strange reason I am not hearing conservatives screaming that Governor Palin "has not been vetted' or that she is 'too much of an unknown'. Many of us have known about her for 2 days and right away she is welcomed with open arms. Even when there have been many many many articles about Obama and his family and he has even written 2 books on his life, people still claim 'he has not been vetted' and 'he is too much of an unknown to vote for'. Now both Obama and Palin are both young politicians and have proven to have made progress including in the area of ethics reform, the only difference other than gender, is race. A black man has to be vetted and must be faced with months of examination before you whites can accept him, where as this white woman has been accepted with open arms IMMEDIATELY. This goes back to the saying, "If it’s all white, it must be all right." There WILL be some surprises about this woman coming up soon. My guess is that many of you will pass them off as okay as you continue to bash Obama. Just like you have given McCain a pass on his associations. You whites have turned everything related to Obama into a negative, even his popularity. There is nothing wrong with having a president that is popular with Americans and people around the world. Many of you have made it clear that it is simple: He ain't white, so he ain't right. It is as simple as that.

Republican Female Entepreneur, Your Honor, I beg to differ with. I was a Democrat until Hillary folded. I believe in women's choice but not in abortion. In this day and age, a woman can make a choice to get pregnant or not to get pregnant. Sex was intended by God for precreation, not for mere pleasure. The Catholic Church is pro-life, from conception until death. Which means, the Church does not believe in death penalty, and has stood by this for more more than two thousand years. I am a Hillary supporter and I supported all her positions except on abortion. I, along with a group of other Chicagoans, travelled as volunteers for Hillary. I remember an elderly lady telling me that she really loves Hillary and would like to vote for her but she will just vote for McCain because she does not support abortion. We do not make political decisions based on a single issue. There are so many types of contraceptives available now. I heard that lately, there is something that you need only once a month? I'm not sure. My best friend had an abortion many, many years ago, I believe in mid '70's. She was forced to have abortion because to save her family from a scandal. Now, many years later, she whenever there is a family party and a ot of children, I would catch her looking at the children with the saddest expression in her eyes.
I just went back to review your comment and realized that it was all enterpreneur babble. Have you had an abortion? Is that why you had to write a long "dissertation" to justify your action? At times, you sounded like a frustrated literary writer. Well, may God forgive you. I believe that not all pro-choice women share your view. Your view is selfish. Such an unhappy person. Being a successful enterpreneur, you should thank your mother that she did not share your views. Good luck to you.

Alaskan Governor's child may be her daughter's?

The nation has been abuzz today with talk of Sarah Palin, John McCain's surprise vice-presidential pick. The internet and news media exploded in the hours following the announcement.

Along with all the stories making their way through the news cycle is one regarding Trig Palin, her youngest child. Apparently, there has been suspicion, some reported through Alaskan media outlets even before the Vice Presidential buzz, that the child actually belongs to her daughter, Bristol Palin. Normally this would be a personal issue, but this becomes a public matter because of Sarah Palin's stance against abortion and birth control, promoting 'abstinence only' beliefs.

The story seems ludicrious, and surely the GOP workers that vetted her would have stopped McCain from choosing her if anything like this were true. Only, now it has come out that Governor Sarah Palin was not vetted properly. The McCain camp states that they didn't feel it was necessary.

Even if it is entirely false and ludicrous, people are talking about it, and are quite interested in it. It has cropped up on a number of liberal and conservative blogs and sites. One Republican blog pre-empted the rumors, urging people to support Governor Palin "no matter what happens." It is absurd to believe Barack Obama is a Muslim, but that hasn't stopped 10% to 15% of America believing it is true. It remains to be seen if this story will sprout legs. So far, no media outlet has outright disproved the rumor (which should be very easy to do), though the Anchorage Daily News has reported the rumor.

The believers have a few scattered points:
    1. Bristol Palin left school for an extended period of time, due to mononucleosis according to her family for the last 4-5 months of Trig's pregnancy. Some classmates claimed later that they had seen Bristol Palin pregnant.

    2. Sarah Palin did not reveal to anyone outside her family that she was pregnant until 8 months into her pregnancy. Even then, she showed no signs of pregnancy. Alaskan news outlets commented on this, but did not go further. There are pictures of her at Super Tuesday (just a month before the baby was born).
    http://www.adn.com/politics/story/339576.html
She is notably a very trim woman, so it would likely be difficult to hide a pregnancy.
    3. There are supposed photos showing Bristol Palin having gained weight, possibly significantly so in the abdomen. I haven't been able to verify these.
    4. Sarah Palin went into labor in Dallas just before she was due to deliver a keynote address at the Republican Governors' Energy Conference, and flew to Seattle, then Alaska while still in labor.
    http://www.newsminer.com/news/2008/apr/22/palins-flight-labor-falls-under-scrutiny/
Supposedly, she was in labor during the 8 hour flight, and the crew and attendants did not know.
    (Quote from the Article Above):
""Governor Palin was extremely pleasant to flight attendants and her
stage of pregnancy was not apparent by observation as she didn't show
any signs of distress," Boren said."
This is extremely risky behavior, and you are advised by doctors, traditionally, not to fly once you are past 7 months pregnant. If airlines are made aware, sometimes they will prevent you from flying. Sarah Palin did not inform the flight.
    5. Sarah has had four children before, and a prolonged labor that lasted a flight from Dallas to Alaska is extremely unlikely, as labor times usually decrease with the number of births.
    6. There is also some rumor of an interview with a co-worker of Todd Palin at the oil fields in Prudhoe Bay (North Slope, where Todd Palin worked for BP), though I haven't been able to verify this. The co-worker claims Todd told him of the situation, supposedly.

    7. Likewise, there were at the time a few classmates of Bristol's that claim

SUNSHINE: I've heard she cheated on him but do any of us really know the answer to something 30 years ago? If I was held accountable for what I did when younger........... We all have done things wrong in our life, but give me a break Sunshine! How long you going to hold it against the guy? How do you know he was going to run with Kerry? Let me guess CNN or MSNBC??? If you did some REAL research you would know and realize these stations are all for Obama and so against McCain. Obama's past is far far far worse than McCains and much more recent!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you had gone through being a hostage for 5 years with the kind of treatment he had, maybe YOU wouldn't be quite so PERFECT either. Quit believing everything from these left stations and do some more investigating. If you had listened to him being interviewed by Pastor Rick on tv you'd have heard that his first marriage was one of his worst regrets. To me it takes quite a big person to admit a wrong. Try a little forgiveness why don't you. 30 years and he's still got your hate......... GET OVER IT!

How could anyone vote for mccain? Have you seen the CNN documentary on him?? something like MCCAIN REVEALED?

He is a war man that flip flopped his way to the top and cheated on his wife because she gained weight then started an affair with his now wife because she was richer and more beautiful. and danced wih the idea of switching parties to get ahead. He even toyed with the idea of being a running mate for KERRY!!!! WAKE UP AMERICA!!!! forget Palin. Mccain is the one that shouldn't be trusted. I WAS A REPUBLICAN, BUT I WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR MCCAIN EVER! HE IS USING PALIN AND YOU ALL ARE FALLING FOR IT!

how can you trust his judgment and ethics? how can you believe in him?

  • ABORTION IS THE KILLING OF BABYS-BOTTOM LINE - 17 years ago

If you don't believe that life begins at coception your a fool! I know the heart starts beating withint days. I'd like you to go to an abortion clinic and see the baby ripped apart. It has legs and arms, a head and THIS CHILD FEELS. It feels the pain at being shredded. What idiot started "pro-choice" "pro-life"??? They are just words. Its a baby. Unless a Mom's life is in danger, there should be NO killing of children. Most of those Mom's are heartbroken having to make the choice. Abortion is used as a means of birth control because some woman (and I am a woman) can't keep her legs together! Quit screwing; both men and women and there needn't be any killing of babys. Pretty simple really. Most abortions are due to stupidity as far as having sex goes. How would you feel if it was your Grandchild? I weep for all these children. They have no choice. They are conceived by no choice of their own and murdered the same way. BIRTHCONTROL; thats all its about!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm worried because she is so young. She was mayor of a small town of 7000, and governor for a just a short time. John McCain just turned 72 recently and has a history of health problems (several malignant melanomas). There is a very good chance that something will happen in the next 4 or 8 years that will require his VP to act as President, and I'm not certain that this 44 year old has the ability or experience to run this entire nation. I'm very worried.

Sharon, the reason anti-abortion people make it a "public issue" is that they don't believe it should be a personal choice. They consider abortion immoral, similar to, if not, infanticide. As convenient as it may be, if the killing of newborns suddenly became legal, would you leave it alone believing it to be a personal choice? What's the difference? Can you prove when life begins? I can't. I suppose if you are an atheist or don't believe in the sanctity of human life, your problems are solved . . . but please think about it!

  • Rod - 17 years ago

Dear pffffttt, you are the typical liberal, socialist, conspiracy theorist, far-left democrat. What kind of videos was that? Sounds like you're familiar with the procedure.

  • pffffttttt - 17 years ago

Never seen an entire comment section full of republican trolls who are probably the same person, stuck in a bunker somewhere, tired of masturbating to bukkake videos.

  • Ewa - 17 years ago

Lisa, I absolutely believe your friend was telling the truth. The Obama camp seems to be in a complete state of disarray over Gov. Palin's appointment to a V.P. position. They are scared because she is smart, quick-witted, down to earth, a true reformer and change-maker. They must be recognizing she will be a formidable opponent in a V.P. debate with Biden;otherwise, why would they be so upset with McCain's pick? If it is so bad, shouldn't they be happy???But the truth is they are mad as hell and McCain the Maverick has outdone them again. I will be sending $$$ to McCain/Palin campaign, something I have never done before. I LOVE Gov.Palin, she is amazing! She is going to be an outstanding V.P. and hopefully our future President, too!

  • Sharon - 17 years ago

What a relief! I am democrat but was not convinced to vote Obama. Hillary would have definitely got my vote and not because of the woman factor. She is just simply the more intelligent, in tune person up there. This election has nothing to do with party but everything to do with people. We have to have common sense. Too many people are "stuck" in their party and can't rationally make decisions for the good of the country......Look at the person...not the party. Pro-Life, Pro-Choice...It's your personal feeling based on your belief. Why does it have to be such a public issue. Be parents, educate your children, make them understand that sex isn't a "sport"....that's choice! Bush has nothing to do with this election. Same old is gettin old. The dems need another platform to "whine" about. Go John & Sarah...you definitely have my vote. If you are a woman and insulted by this choice....look in the mirror....you are not a woman!

  • Susan - 17 years ago

I have always been a republican and always been a John McCain supporter. I have never thought Obama was a good choice simply becuase I do not feel he has enough experience. He only does well with a teleprompter at his side not one on one. He never directly answers a questions. He talks literally out both sides of his mouth. I feel like he has done so well, merely because he is the first black canidate to make it this far. People don't seem to be voting for him on the issues or policies but merely because they are so excited to have a black man in office. I don't care if the are black or white just as long as they have the qualifications to follow through and get my respect to run this country. Obama does not. I think John McGain proved what an upright, intelligent man he is by selecting Gov. Palen as his V.P. Choice. Praise God for people who are honest, straight forward and are not afraid to speak their minds. Not like some who just tell you what you want to hear to get a vote. I am honored to be a Republican and support my two best canidates, Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sara Palen. Forgive if spelling is wrong. I love you guys!

    Hello Gretta,

I'm very happy with the results of this poll. Here in Michigan, its not only the women that are unhappy with the DNC and their deceit and selection techniques, they have availed what is a sad truth. Flash with no substance.

I have never been a Clinton supporter but what the DNC has done to her is a travesty.

Gov. Palin has shown what a politician should be, "by the people for the people." I wish her and John McCain the best of luck and all my support.

Thanks Greta, you and the staff at Fox, keep journalism honest and truthful.

  • Lisa - 17 years ago

I have a very good friend (since high school and we are in our late 30's) that has a very high position in the o'bama campaign. She told me last night the McCain's picking of Gov. Palin caught them completely off guard! She said they had tons of ammunition against Gov. Pawlenty and Mitt Romney that they were going to use after one of them was announced. But with the pick of Palin, they had nothing ready and came out with the statement about her being a mayor of a small town and not being ready to step into the presidency. After they put that out she said they recieved tons of calls and emails saying that saying that about Gov. Palin was wrong so they then decided to come out with a good luck wish to Gov. Palin to try and win back some of the angry women that had emailed them. She said the campaign is in a real panic right now and is not sure which way to proceed against Palin. She thought they might just go after McCain more and not so much against Gov. Palin. Although her and i do not always see eye to eye on politics, we are very good friends and i know she would not lie to me!

  • Rod - 17 years ago

For the very few on this site who are PRO CHOICE, let's get real! Birth is natural and not an issue with anyone. No one is against it. So why don't we call this what it is . . . pro-abortion v. anti-abortion. You are PRO-ABORTION! And what about EQUAL RIGHTS for even the most innocent and unprotected, THE UNBORN. Can't we all just be for LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS . . . FOR ALL! One great question of our time is, when does life begin? YOU DON'T KNOW! I know . . . some people know in their hearts, but no one can prove it one way or another. So as a great man once said, "Don't blow up the building unless you're sure there is no one inside." Get it?

    SARAH PALIN THE REAL REFORMER

Did you see Obama and Biden being interviewed the day after the Big Extravaganza .. minus the makeup and fireworks! Biden looked like he was about to cry and Obama stammered and said Palin was “the same”. The same! Governor Palin is about as far as you can be from Washington and has a record of accomplishment that Sen. Obama cannot match. Gov. Palin has spent her time in office shaking up government in Alaska and achieving results. Palin has taken on corruption, passed ethics reform, stopped wasteful spending and the `bridge to nowhere’. Obama has spent most of his time in the Senate running for President. Palin has been in elected office for over 10 years with executive experience as a Governor, Mayor, head of the Alaska National Guard, and head of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.

The Democrats are asking how we can have an individual with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the Presidency, meanwhile neglecting to mention that their candidate also has zero foreign policy experience and is running for the TOP of the ticket, NOT EVEN a heartbeat away! Obama talks about “yes we can” and “change”, yet Sarah Palin is the one who has brought about change and reform. She has shown what it means to be a true reformer.

As head of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Palin exposed ethical violations by the state GOP chairman, also a fellow commissioner. She is an ardent advocate for more drilling — off Alaska, off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and in the off-limits Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. She pushed for more competition for the construction of a $26 billion pipeline to bring natural gas from the North Slope to the lower 48 states by favoring the TransCanada pipeline project, backed by independent companies over one proposed by BP and ConocoPhillips. She has tangled with Exxon Mobil and other oil companies over their reluctance to develop gas fields on state land.

“As governor, I've stood up to the old politics as usual, to the special interests, to the lobbyists, the big oil companies, and the good-old-boy network,'' she said at a rally yesterday in Dayton, Ohio, where she was introduced by McCain.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is now running with McCain as his choice to be vice-president. She is a tax-cutting, pro-drilling, environmentalist, gun defending, pro-life mother of five with a son in the Army about to be deployed to Iraq. “She's exactly who this country needs to help me fight the same old Washington politics,'' McCain said.

Obama said that change doesn't come "from Washington, it comes TO Washington”. Strange that both Obama and Biden, are “from Washington”. Sarah Palin is coming “TO Washington” and is a breath of fresh air!

Another Hillary Supporter here.....I am sick of how Hillary is being treated by the Dems....with this choice of Palin, McCain has my vote...I don't agree on all their issues but I didn't agree with all of Hillary's but I still loved her. Dems/Obama has made a very grave mistake with dissing women.

  • Ann - 17 years ago

Finally, Governor Palin is a woman who can do it all, and doesn't whine about it. She is not "beholdin'" to anyone; not Washington, the News media, no one. She's uncorruptable, and I find it very interesting that ALL media can't find her "hidden secrects." How refreshing to see a non-corporate, educated, highly capable woman, with a smile on her face, ready to take on the nation. Can you see Nancy Pelosi's face when VP Palin presides over the Senate. Nancy might just have to another face-lift.

  • Corrine - 17 years ago

I'm Sick of Government & THeir Over Spending! Now we could have 2 people, heads in office, who want to change that. FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Goverment keeps spending our money like its water and than wants US to cut back. BS!!!!!!!!!! I want someone like Palin in who will vote NO WAY NO HOW! I want my taxes LOW. We are a small business in Wisconsin. Obama keeps stating how he will only raise the taxes of the rich. Well Mr. Dummy Obama; those business people will THAN raise the price of what their selling. DUH! AND than I'm going to be paying more everywhere. Obama and Biden get the "dufus" award from me. This is just common sense stuff that me, as a non-college person, can figure out. How come these so called big shots can't. I'm sick of paying the way for the rich and Obama can make fun of Mrs. McCains homes (that was family money and I certainly wouldn't turn it down) but its not like making 2-3 million a year like the Obama's make is chump change. NOT to us people making $50,000 or less a year. I have no complaints. I have a roof over my head and food to eat. I just don't OVERSPEND. I was taught to live within my means.

  • suthrn - 17 years ago

people are saying that this lady is a heartbeat away from becoming president..so what? she is no dumby by any means and if she was to have to take over the position just look who would be in her vacant seat..what a winner huh? what has cheney really done these past years except to try and stay in a secluded corner somewhere and count his money and stocks...hey and guess what!!! our very first president of the usa had not one bit of experience and look at his track record...this lady palin will have the common sense to do her job...hey it cant be any worse than what we have had these past two terms....she may well surprise everyone.......

  • michael - 17 years ago

I am so happy about this choice for VP. I love america and want the best for all of the people no matter what their race, color, or politics. We are all americans and we need leadership that will take us forward. For all of the democrats out there who vote only democratic, please take a moment and think about what is best for all of us not just you. I vote for who I think is the best for the country. The McCain/Palin ticket seems pretty awesome to me. We need to eliminate or at least diminish our dependency on foreign oil and I believe we can start with McCain. America has enough oil and natural gas to completely eliminate us buying oil from other countries. Let us go get it. May God bless this country.

  • Brian from Missouri - 17 years ago

Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! I was first voting against Obama, but now I am voting for Palin.

  • Bill - 17 years ago

Stacey, your defending a dead horse. What has Hilary done? She arrived in New York as a carpet bagger. What has she done in the senate? You now have a woman that accomplished much and all you can do is complain say your a stanch Hilarly supporter How narrow minded. Your not alone. I my state we have a congress woman that hasn't done anything for two years. She got int office only because she is a woman and the democratic part spend millins to get her elected. I welcome women in politics but not because of their gender but because they can stand toe to toe with anyone. I don't want anyone that will do only what her party tells her what to do like, Shea-Porter of NH and and senate candidate Shaheen.

  • Carmela - 17 years ago

The problem w/the Democratic Party is that they are under the erroneous belief that all women have a monolithic view regarding major issues. That is so far from the truth and I resent it!

  • Sandra L - 17 years ago

I have been working in the background of the political process since 1982. Sometimes paid and sometimes not paid. I have experienced canidates from county judges, state legislators, governors, vice presidents, and Al Gore is a cousin. Tennessee has many cousins of Al Gore. I know the process and know the people I speak of. I can call a race. I am older of course and come from the generation where you are held accountable for your actions. I realized Friday the race is over. Gov. Palin will win. I could be a rich person had I chose to bet on races, but that is not me.

  • Bill - 17 years ago

I haven't seen such positive response since Ronald Reagan. Lets not stop here. Lets throw out of office all the politicians with the liberal press hate mongers that want to tear down this country instead of working to make it better. Hilary, go bake some cookies.

  • Jon Paul - 17 years ago

Oh please Stacey get real the Clintons are old school politics. Her and John make a great combination. Obama has no experience at anything except speech making. He sat in the same church and never heard all the hate speeches? Learn to vote for the person and not the party. I could not be happier with the choice of Saraha!

  • PanteleAz - 17 years ago

Stacey has obviously been drinking the kool-aid. Palin is as qualified as Clinton hands down. That Clinton was first lady, or that she has occupied a sentate seat is meaningless...particularly when coupled with the typical, neo-socialist ideology she embraces. Palin is an obvious leaders, has taken on the status quo, gone after special interests, has impeccable integrity, has executive experience and actually is the "change" which Obama - who picked a 30 year DC veteran, said he would represent. With McCain and Pailin.....they ARE they change.

  • Stacey - 17 years ago

If Palin is qualified to be VP I am twice a qualified because I was a PTA President twice. I am a staunch Hillary supporter and this pick puts me solidly for Obama. If conservative Republicans - like most on this blog - think we supported Hillary for her gender you will have a rude awakening in November. We support Hillary as a PROVEN leader for the issues we care about and you vehemently oppose: social services, civil rights, pro-choice, evolution not creationism, gun control, equality for gay and lesbian people, etc., etc., etc. Palin is the antithesis of all of this and that’s why folks on this blog are gaga about her. Obama is not a proven leader, but we have much more hope he will become that leader for these causes than Palin. HE is the one with much more depth than Annie Oakley of Alaska.

  • Jerriann - 17 years ago

I’m 52, and for the first time in my life, there is a candidate that I can relate to... Sarah Palin! I “get” what it means to live the life of a working Mom, in a military family, attending a public university (not an elite Ivy League school), serving the community as a PTA president, and serving on city boards. I, too, come from a family of hunters. I grew up with family in the oil and gas industry.

As I try to contain my excitement about Sarah Palin, I am reminded of the statue of a Pioneer Woman who has stood proudly on the campus of my alma mater, Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Tx. since 1938. Jessie H. Humphries, then Dean of Women, wrote the inscription at the base of the statue:

“Marking a trail in a pathless wilderness, pressing forward with unswerving courage, she met each untried situation with a resourcefulness equal to the need. With a glad heart she brought to her frontier family her homelands cultural heritage. With a delicate spiritual sensitiveness she illumed the dullness of routine and the loneliness of isolation with beauty and with life abundant and withal she lived with casual unawareness of her value to civilization. Such was the Pioneer Woman, the unsung saint of the nations immortals.”

I’m ecstatic about having a Pioneer Woman serving us!

First of all I am voting for Obama ... he is a democrat for a woman's right to choose, equal pay ...Palin may wear a skirt but she is not representing a change that is prgressive for ... We The People" in the 21st century
i believe that the Mccain Palin ticket will set us women back a few years based on her conservative ways ... just more of the same ... except she is the pipeline to the oil Mccain wants to drill ..and for her to think i would replace her as my Hillary is insulting my intelligence as a women shame on her

I have a cousin who lives in Juno for the last 25 years. He visited us about 3 months ago, in Missouri and he sas telling us about their governor and how she has been cleaning up the Alaska political system. This was before she was ever mentioned for VP. At the time he told us it is to bad we do not have people like her in Washington D.C.

  • Marty - 17 years ago

In response to Offended Republican Female Entrepreneur:

First, let me say I admire your hard work as a business person. My concern for you and all liberals, regardless of party association, is your assumptions you have about life which effects your assumptions you have about choice. You said, "I head federal operations for a U.S. next-gen homeland defense technology inventor, and found myself traveling in circles with women like myself. We couldn’t have launched our companies if we hadn't already exercised the Choice, and taken an immense financial risk." Pragmatism works well for the liberal mindset, and so does survival of the fittest. Your focus has been on self, not that baby and his or her choices. Any and all accomplishments you achieve in life will one day come to an end, but then what? What opportunity did that child have to accomplish anything? The problem with liberals is they don't believe they will necessarily give an account of their actions to anyone higher than themselves. As human beings, we have been given enormous responsibilities in making choices, but most choices have risks-risks that often effect the livelyhood of others. I believe in choice. I also believe we bear responsibility with our choices. Women have been given the ability to give birth to children. We all know how that process works. Taking responsibility for choices in that area means that if one doesn't want children then one must be responsible either not to have sex or have it in a responsible way as to not lead to pregnancy. Certainly, if that is maintained, then the avenues one has set for themselves in business or whatever will not be hindered by those responsible choices. If, however, one makes a mistake in that sexual area, then the consequences must be handled responsibly and thus goals and aspiration may have to change, because a new life has resulted- a life that should also be protected with unallianable rights. The problem for the unborn is that they are often subject to the choices of those that are not innocent as to whether they live or die, as to whether they get to make choices or not in life. See, it's not as simple as the pro-choicers try to make it. Conservatives believe in choice as well, but not without responsibility. Governor Palin has made such choices, and though I am not a woman, she is really what a role model for womanhood represents. Governot Palin is a true champion for LIFE.

  • Sam - 17 years ago

Im a person that is a independent. I personally was going to vote for Obama till I saw Palin. Main reason being is she supports off shore drilling. I still think their needs to be research and development put into other energy resources and tax breaks given to those organizations; but at the moment with our energy crysis about at its peak we need something NOW. The solution is off shore drilling.

  • Marty - 17 years ago

I didn't cry my eyelashes out, but I cried when I heard Gov. Palin was Sen. McCains pick. She is real. She, actually along with the Maverick, epitimizes the fulfilment of Sen. Obama's promise of "real change we can depend on." Sen. Obama is a great orator no doubt, but unfortunately, he has not delivered on what he has promised. He is the same old same old. Obama is a true democrat. He is critical; he is liberal; he slams with distortions and lies those he opposes; he is egocentric and an elletist; he's THE ONE. The only change I believe he really means and seeks is the color of the ones residing in the whitehouse, which in itself gets no opposition from me. Sen. Biden is anciently rooted in the quagmire of Washigton politics and will not aid in real change that is needed. Governor Palin has a real and a true message, a message of charater and servanthood for the people. She is a champion for women because when women were given the right to vote, it did not matter of their political party; it mattered of their gender. So her rise to power recognizes the accomplishment of women, not their political persuasion. The democrats and the liberals don't own the rights to womanhood. What women are looking for are women of strength to represent them. That is why so many were drawn to Hillary-her strength, not necessarily her being pro-choice. Sarah Palin is a strong woman, but she is compassionate and real. That says a lot for womanhood and represents much of what was womanhood 88 years ago as well. True, if elected, she will be only a heartbeat away from the presidency, but this November, Barak Obama, if elected, would be the president. She actually has more experience than Obama, and I would rather risk voting for a genuine person of ethics and character and give her a mentor like John McCain to season her at the second position rather than risk a vote for a questionable character like Obama and give him "on the job training" for the highest office in the land. Yes, I believe she will crack that glass ceiling. I believe she will be a champion of civil rights, especially the rights of the unborn. I am excited about this election like never before. I said all this to say...WOW, WOW, WOW!!!

I am an Executive Search Recruiter who has worked with a leading national Executive Search Firm for many years. I currently work exclusively with the Fortune 100 placing C-level Executives and have been involved in hundreds of hiring decisions. One rule in the mind of any recruiter or staffing professional is that the best indicator of future success is past success. let me say that again THE BEST INDICATOR OF FUTURE SUCCESS IS PAST SUCCESS. My clients demand that I present the best qualified candidates for their open positions. All my candidates MUST have similar past experience and successes to be a candidate. This is the basis for my absolute state of shock that the Obama camp today would attack Governor Palin on lack of experience! Obama has 143 working days in the senate, a 143 days! and no managerial experience at all, he has never managed anything. Obama would not qualify for any position I have worked on in years. All politics and emotions aside I simply could not and would not be able to use his resume. Obama lacks any of the required qualifications for an Executive level position. On the other hand Governor Palin would be my dream candidate! Governor Palin has plethora of elected Executive level experience in comparison in more than one position. The saddest thing for Obama is that throughout the day folks have been making this comparison between a Presidential nominate and a Vice Presidential nominate and they were stupid enough to open that door.

Offended Entrepreneur. That shows how selfish and dumb you actually are just like a lot of Democrats in this world. What happened to JFK's Its not what your country can do for you, Its what you can do for your country. Obama is running under the ticket as Its not what you can do for your country its what your country can do for you. Selfish Selfish Selfish. Oh By the way, in basic economics we find that a raise in the minimum wage will cause a rise in unemployment in less needed jobs, often jobs of high Schools and African Americans Lose out on. Thanks Fed Government for taking their jobs away.

  • Brandon Svab - 17 years ago

I think this is a biased question stating that she is going to take a lot of democratic women. She has earned my vote for John McCain where I am a registered Libertarian. Impartial to Obama and McCain and Biden but in much favor of the beliefs and how amazing of a woman she has shown so far. She is going to appeal to some women democrats, but McCain was already appealing to a lot of them already. I believe she is going to spark the Small Town people and the more and more the Obama Campaign Fire at her, the worse off they will be.

Sarah Palin is magnificent - she has true grit and is of the stuff of which American Women generally are made. But interestingly, it is a British woman she puts me in mind of: and that would be Margaret Thatcher. Do you remember as I do, the extraordinary team of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher who brought down the Russian Empire? I think this woman has the same level of courage in her and possibly McCain may be more like Ronnie than we imagine. It will be facinating to watch what these two may accomplish. They have my vote and my heart.

As a male independent voter, and it didn't matter if the candidate is white, black or even a woman, as long as they have the right stuff. I was planning to vote for McCain but now with Sarah Palin added to the ticket, She has the RIGHT STUFF, I am now even more enthused even more after listening to her speech on FOX. She is a great asset to the ticket MCCAIN-PALIN. Yeah!

And a gun toting Rancher! Just change the anatomy and the comments are just as stupid! Sarah has a wide range of interests, experience no other candidate can match. She is the only one who has actually led the people!
Obama has spent his career in the Senate running for President! Very short career!! The moment Sarah was named the trashy comments from Democrats errupted. So much for standing for Women's Rights!!!!

Dear Offended. So you're saying the governor should overlook her deeply held moral beliefs to help you succeed in business? It's a quite a stretch to believe half of your rationalizations. Your logic is as twisted as the string on your overly tight . . . yo-yo. I'd say you belong firmly in the democratic party. I applaud your conservative business views, but your lack of social understanding is unbelievable. Question. When does life begin? If you can tell me absolutely, that will tell me a lot about you. I believe that many women from both parties will vote for S. Palin. Thank you McCain. What a wise choice. We need someone like S.Palin for V.P.
She has the experience and expertise that it takes to run this country. She is wise, compassionate and very grounded. It is a must for a leader. Lets see what comes of this election. Everyone will be quite surprised by her choices and actions. Look how she has made nothing but positive changes in Alaska. She does what is right and doesn't care what anyone thinks. I believe the selection of Palin will do little to lure Democrat women voters because of Palin's Pro-Life standing. I head federal operations for a U.S. next-gen homeland defense technology inventor, and found myself traveling in circles with women like myself. We couldn’t have launched our companies if we hadn't already exercised the Choice, and taken an immense financial risk. We succeeded because we didn't have children whose financial welfare we needed to make a priority. Boyfriends were intolerant of our long work hours, so our situation is different than that of a female politician with a supportive husband bringing home a paycheck lucrative enough to permit her to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors in politics which itself has a paycheck that founders of companies often forego for years.

If women lose the Choice, the U.S. will be left with nearly only men taking risks to start companies with innovative ideas, and with that, the U.S. experience a significant brain drain! Also, women statistically are more likely to include social responsibility in their business decisions, so are less likely to make decisions such as accept a 100+ % financing or buyout offer from the Kremlin solely because there's money to be made. Palin may want to end government corruption, but her Pro-Life view if enacted likely will breed a new generation of companies run only by men bribing Congress and OMB officials—the controllers of the federal budget via campaigns, PACs and gifts.

The experience to break through a glass ceiling in politics is very different from the business glass ceiling. There’s a far larger population of women working in business than in politics. Palin needs to improve her knowledge of the needs of the mainstream women she seems to want to represent, because a majority of them in order to achieve lucrative careers including to help the U.S. defend itself, are forced to forego being mothers.

It is well-documented it’s possible to become pregnant without having intercourse. Should women working toward breaking through the glass ceiling and taking the precaution to not become pregnant by not having intercourse still be forced to carry to term a child that will end their career advancement? Force the women to sell to a non-democracy like Russia—thereby selling-out our nation’s security just so they can provide for the child they took extraordinary measures not to conceive?

U.S. DOJ corruption investigations take years before there is a resolution. Children cost money entrepreneurs need to perpetuate their companies while exercising social responsibility and waiting the conclusions of investigations. Senator Stevens’ indictment involves 7 years of crimes brought 9 years after they started and gives mention to Russia. Stevens—my company’s evaluator via his control of budgets and involved with Russia, thinks the internet is made of tubes! The press more than 2 years ago linked the CIA’s former Executive Director to Russia. I’ve spent nearly 7 years declining Kremlin offers to every American’s benefit and against my own best financial interests, and Palin’s Pro-Life standing says she’d have preferred if I hadn’t terminated a pregnancy which then would have forced me to sell to a nation wanting to abuse my company’s technology to harm Americans. When one challenges the extradition of one of the nation’s most powerful senators and highest ranking official at Langley, social programs to help shelter and feed dependents aren’t available!

Palin hasn’t my vote until she’s removed her blinders and come to terms with the 21st century female entrepreneur’s reality. If she genuinely wants this nation protected when some of the best ideas are introduced by female entrepreneurs, then she must stop behaving like a sheltered wife!

Most abortions end development of one blastula unlikely to make it to term. Eliminate the Choice and the U.S. could miss-out on at least half the ideas it needed to save the lives of millions!

Governor Palin's speech brought tears to my eyes today. She is an intelligent, beautiful, honest woman who happens to be a politician. I have trouble meshing the words politician and honest, but I truly believe she means what she says. No matter what your beliefs about abortion, she put her beliefs into action by birthing a son that she knew would be less-than-perfect physically and mentally. I admire that! I am 60 years old, and it has been 20 years since there was a woman on the presidential ticket. It's about time, and for Sarah Palin, it's the right time and place. I am really surprised and delighted by McCain's choice!! We women deserve this representation!!

I think that this decision will put McCain in the white house, and I think thats the best thing that will happen out of this election! She's a woman, and she's NOT Hilary!

I was thrilled to see a conservative woman, Mother, and a Govenor chosen for V.P. running mate to John McCain. John is a hero! My first husband was shot down in Viet Nam so I am 100% behind John McCain. We were only allowed one vote but there are two here. My husband of many years is also a VietNam vet. Sarah is a beautiful example of courage in choosing to keep her baby boy!The right choice!

Judith dear, you are grasping at straws. If you really believe what you said, you are truly a person in need of help. I will pray for you. Mike

Hussein's reaction to this pick was so typical of this jerk. Immediately he criticizes her and then a couple hours later "uh, you know, campaigns start getting these, uh, hair triggers and, uh,..." Palin has more experience and is more qualified than Barak Hussein America! I guess he forgot about his big speech the night before where he demanded equal treatment for women.

As an Alaskan I can guarantee the rest of the nation that you will be impressed with Sarah. She is the best thing that has happened politically in the state of Alaska in more than two decades. She is a Tough, honest and straight talking ordinary yet extraordinary person. We as a state will miss her local leadership yet the nation will gain so much.

    Well Girls,
As a white guy that every imaginable special interest group known to mankind hates, I would like to welcome you to the club and have a question for ya! Can you fight? It's now or never and time to stand up and be counted! If you let this one pass, then sit down and shut-up! Maybe, a racist black man with less experience and common sense than Hillary or Gov. Sarah Palin is a better choice. On the other hand if I met a lady like Condy Rice or Gov. Palin I would have been gotten married. Oh well, at least there are some real women left in the world. I'm voting for Gov. Palin! Wow!!!!!!!

When I heard Governor Palin talk I suddenly realized God had answered my prayer for a God fearing leader who would not whimp out at these Godless Democrats!!! Thank you Mr. McCain for picking the next Esther of biblical proportions. Just remember Mr. McCain, in the great book of Romans it says "If God be for us, who can be against us? Absolutely no one, nothing, demons, principalities, powers, rulers of darkness or spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12) In Philippians 4:13 It says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. I don't know about you all but, I'm just stupid enough to believe that Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords, King of all kings!!! Christians: I'M ISSUING AND CHALLENGING YOU TO A CALL TO ARMS TO PRAY AND READ THE SWORD OF THE LORD; THE HOLY BIBLE!!!
This is a War not a Recreation Park!!! Remember we have the Champion of all Champions; the LORD JESUS CHRIST!!! God Bless America, my country tis of thee!!!

What a refreshing change from the usual rhetoric. For once, a candidate who was genuine in the way she came across and who has made a real difference to her state. She is a woman whose growing accomplishments match her words, a real inspiration to people who are looking for somebody that they can identify with in the current political muddle. Great to know that Sarah Palin got more done in her 2 years in office than the previous incumbents did in their multiple terms. I would vote any day for somebody like her who can get the job done whether it is in Alaska or in Washington. Sen. McCain has proved again that he is willing to go beyond conventional wisdom to try a fresh approach to solve problems. I admire the fact that McCain has chosen somebody like her as a running mate. My vote for the team

I am a 23 year old Iraq Veteran. I am so proud to see a woman that is so patriotic and so conservative as McCain's VP. Her son is a Soldier in the Army and he is a hero as well. GOD BLESS AMERICA, GOD BLESS MCCAIN

Great choice for VP!!! I was luke-warm slightly for McCain. I am completely on board, ready for the first time in my life (I am 52) to work hard to get McCain/Palin elected. Bring on the bumper stickers. I am excited about the election.

I HATE OBAMA, the liar, corrupt, deceiving!! Wasn't sure about Mc Cain till now. She is a potent force for "The Messiah" to recon with and this will be a landslide!!

  • Helen - 17 years ago

Terrific VP selection!!!! It's time that liberals get the picture that their party is more talk than action about helping minorities, the middle class and lower income. Look up the records. Many positive breakthroughs throughout the years for African Amercans, tax relief, and various programs to help people help themselves for lifelong benefits have been initiated and passed by Republicans. As a public school teacher, and one of the few conservatives, I find many political discussions can easily be quieted since most of the teachers know so little about our countries politics. They often rant about the very things (I have to remind them) that their party stands for!! Our VP
candidate, Sarah Palin, has more experience than the liberals presidential candidate and more accompishments during her tenure and is not a "good old boy politician." SHE WILL TRULY BE LOOKING OUT FOR US."
