This is not a very good polling question. By combining undecideds with partisan Democrats in one question, you make them essentially the same kind of voter and skew your results. Undecideds and partisans are different. If you ask the same question, one each for undecided and one for Hillary supporters, you will get very different conclusions from your single question.
To believe that Democratic women are going to be completely led by a sisterly devotion and flock to McCain/Palin is pretty sexist. No doubt some women will, but the bulk will not, and the downsides of this pick have also been extensively noted. People who think this sort of stuff need to review the 2006 Maryland Senate race. Remember the GOP predictions of Michael Steele breaking off a huge chunk of the black vote? He got a bit more than most Republicans get, to be sure, but I believe it was a bit over 20%. Not enough to avoid losing by ten points. Democrats need to trust the voters right now and the Obama team needs to undercut McCain and Palin while not being too mean about it. At the end of the day, the issues are serious enough--and after the DNC I think Obama's policies are vivid enough--that most people will vote on substance and not on identity politics. I guess we'll see. I think that picking KBH or Liddy Dole would probably have been safer if he wanted to pick a woman, and both are significantly more qualified.
At least she doesn't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.
Out with the old and in with the new: biden!
OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT
OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT! It makes more sense to me than the other choice....
I think Lev's comments amount to this: Democrats vote for Democrats, period. They put party above country. There is no reason to denigrate Palin in order to cloak his disdain for Republicans by explaining that there were better qualified Republican women for John McCain to choose. I don't get the feeling that Lev really has the best interests of the Republican Party at heart. Or the United States. Or women.
I can see that Obama is trying so hard to answer stupid questions that have nothing to do with the welfare of our nation. He has to answer them as if he were walking through mine fields. This is because the mainstream media would rather focus on religion or flag pins or even abortion, which is a right of any woman to consult with her doctor and her soul. Biden is part of the establishment and actually gets stuck in my throat. Where the hell was he when people were voting for this dastard war(s) where the hell was he when congress has voted for further funding. Hiding before they call him "weak on defense" or "not supporting our troups?" Damn! So now we have to compare him to Devil in a Red Dress. Choose? UghhGR! Not only that. McCain is in the pocket of AIPAC, the infamous lobby group that is part of our shadow government, half of which are Zionists bent on yet one more war: Iran. WITH OUR BOYS FIGHTING AND DYING for it, of course. We all know that the Republicans are bought line hook and sinker. So now we have Obama and his stupid "advisers" pandering to them as well. Reality states that Obama will not get elected if AIPAC and their thousand strong Jewish organizations are against him. They were for Hillary. This is why she held on so long. They are not used to losing. Unless, of course. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US of Voting age gets to the damn polls and votes EARLY! Before we are stopped on voting day! Even then the Republicans may do another 2000 and 2004 on us! Hey, alls fair when you are "doing God's will." and "Carrying out His Plan."
