He needs to keep the big picture in mind - his career. This season will come and go, but if he injuries himself more severely, it could be a career-ender. And he can rest more easily knowing he has a good backup (or two) in place this season, while not being in danger of losing his job as starter.
HE SHOULD OF GOT THIS TAKING CARE OF DURING THE OFFSEASON! OFCOURSE HE NEEDS TO TAKE THIS SEASON OFF TO GET IT FIXED AND MISS THIS SEASON AND ONLY HAVE HIM FOR ONE MORE SEASON AFTER THAT WHEN HIS CONTRACT OPENS UP. HE JUST SHOULD OF GOTTEN IT LOOKED AT AFTER LAST SEASON BECAUSE IT WAS AN ISSUE THEN.
He did have it looked at and the Chargers Dr. said it was fine. Then when he got back to practice it hurt, so it had it looked at again (by the 3 best surgeons in the country) and found the new damage. He's 24 and there is no reason he will not be a Charger for a very long time to come if he can clear this up now. I would rather not have him play this year and give us at least one more year, then to have him start one game and blow his whole career.
Isn't it all strange that the Chargers Staff and Merriman's Professional Dr's are way off base??? One is saying "I expect him to start" the other is suggesting season ending surgury. My question is if the Chargers Front Office are so eager to win and do not "care" about this man's future because they don't see him in THEIR future plans. Are they that selfish? The only people that know are the Charger Dr's... BTW no one will ever replace Merriman and I hope he continues in the Chargers uniform. He is a freak of nature and Tucker aint gonna cut it!
Every single one of the players are disposable thats the reason that they have a college education in case their proffesional career doesn't go as planned.Let's not feel sorry for these players this is why Merriman makes millions. If his career was to take a dump he's still a millionaire an will always be better off than you and I.These players are paid millions to perform and he knows he must perform to be of any value as a free agent.
Show that the public cares for lights out
