The Zoo should definitely be renamed for Les. It is the legacy of a man who devoted his life to the city of Alexandria and the revitalization of the Zoo. The world is a much darker place without him in it.
yes, the Zoo would not be what it is today without him, he was very devoted to it and I feel that is something we could give back to him for all his hard work.
I think a memorial at the Alexandria Zoo to honor Les would be more appropriate than re-naming the Zoo. What would Les do? if he had a choice?
