sure, while support for amateur sports helps realize the dreams of countless athletes, spending millions of dollars on sports seems like an unwise expenditure if you happen to be a country experiencing a myriad of social problems (ie. hunger, poverty, lack of adequate health care, etc.)... but i guess that's all fine and dandy if you're able to sweep that all under the rug and win for your country countless medals on the world stage!
