I Think I Stay In Love should be the 4th single, unlike Bye Bye, this ballad gives me the same excellent vibe of summer 2005 when a certain song was the number 1 for 14 weeks on the Hot 100. For the Record is also a good choice (maybe the 5th single???), but please don't pick Cruise Control and I'm That Chick: we already have an uptempo with IBLULT. Migrate, Love Story and Side Effects are excellent album tracks, maybe Migrate could be a single, but i would stay with I Stay In Love, what a masterful song!!!

For the UK (where I'm from), I'd probably vote for I'm That Chick as I can imagine it being a big hit here. However thinking internationally I went for Side Effects because I've seen a lot of non-fans saying how surprised they've been by this track and I think right now she needs to be surprising people. I Stay In love is gorgeous, but, it's not going to change anyone's conception of what Mariah's about. Side Effects stands out as something a lot deeper and starker than the average MC single and for too long label after label has gone for the safe choice. It's time people heard something different from Mariah.

For The Record if you want to play safe. This is an excellent song which showcases Mariah's beautiful voice and depth of emotion. No rapping involved and can be played on multiple formats: Urban, AC, Hip Hop Side Effects is different and I love it too. What ever you do, don't make the single different from the CD version. That is the problem with IBLULT. Hated the remix with TI. The CD version was classic and would have caught on better in radio. Also make the video fit the song better, whichever one you select.

Alot of people even after 3 singles still want Migrate but that needs to cease. Migrate is a summer single to me and summer is almost over, plus its played in the clubs and every where else. Its kinda old now. Another ballad would be nice being that first balled Bye Bye wasnt the best choice. Personally I really want side effects. I love that song to death and I think it would draw in a very wide and diverse audience, but I could settle for Stay In Love. The 4th single definitely though has to be between those twoooo!!!!
MC's last few #1's and top 5's were We Belong together, Shake if Off, Don't Forget About, and TMB. The thing they have in common is just the Voice and no rap or talking. It is about the Voice. For The Record is ideal. Side Effects is an excellent performance song. A live version with Prince or Lenny on Guitar would kick ass. Dont be lulled into believing that you need a rapper on a single to get a hit, just look at your recent history of hits. Just the Voice. I love Love Story too though, but take off the babies etc. Combine the Acoustic Love Story with For the Record or I stay in Love. Like a B-side. The make up after the break up song.

She needs to either release Migrate / Side Effects and then follow it up with For The Record. That would be a winning formula for e=mc2. So far, they haven't been able to get the equation just right. Migrate is obvious. But Side Effects would do good in the hip hop area. I've been hearing it on a lot of mixtapes and the busta remix is provin that the song could have some great remixes. And For The Record is one of the best songs Mariah has recorded in a long time. It's actually one of the best songs of her career. I think it could be a world wide hit. I can see it having the same effect as My All did worldwide as a single.

For the Record can hit so many different formats and new listeners especially grown folks. You dont really want what people who already have the album think they want. You want the best sleeper hit that is not over exposed. Side Effects is a performance song with a lot going on in it. Love it, but may not be the best single. Love Story wish I could see the video. For the Record is too technical and it shows off too much of Mariah's talent which is far from safe so it definitely is out. I'm That Chick and Cruise Control are too much of a stretch for Mariah since people only think of her as a ballad and safe song singer it would drive people insane if she stepped outside the box. I stay in love will most likely be the next single if you can see the whole safe factor and also the fact that it fits into several semi-popular formats. Plus they way they see it they can recycle that We Belong Together sound. IMHO the best choice for a single would be Thanx 4 Nothin' since it has a slightly urban universal appeal with a hint of soft r&b pop. Its message can appeal to anyone who's ever been played. Its catchy in a very technical way as opposed to the current single formula. It can be remixed in a multitude of formats and a video would be in the realm of We Belong Together as far as the emotions that are conveyed. And really the video is what made WBT. So this would be that best choice for a great video with a enduring storyline. Although looks like we don't have that as an option so enjoy 'I'm Safe' in Love :D

Actually Mariah's latest released I'll be lovin you long time can become her 19th No.1. I watched a few clips of her performance in Teen Awards and MTV Japan and Summer Krush. Gosh, she's just hot! Although her voice may not be as smooth as that in 90s but she still managed to hold a couple of great notes. I really love that song blending with Touch My Body, it's just genius! I think the album should DEFINITELY be more of a success than it is. I think so far, the problem has been the choice of singles. "Bye Bye" or "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" should have NEVER been chosen as singles. "I Stay In Love" should have been the follow-up to "Touch My Body." E=MC2 would still be in the top 10 if that would have been the case. I don't know why everyone is forgetting about "Last Kiss" on the album. I think it would have been a GREAT single, as well. So, I vote for "I Stay In Love" for the 4th single and "Side Effects" and "Last Kiss" as alternatives. We love you, Mariah! =-)

Please NOT I Stay In Love!!! I love the song but it is We Belong Together part 55.4. MC needs something different before people get bored with her. Side Effects is the best single by a mile. It doesn't sound like anything she's ever done and shows growth on her side as an artist. It shows the general public that MC is not trying to follow a number 1s formula.

I listened to the whole CD once again last night. I stay in Love is kinda sickening in the beginning. It does not heat up enough until 2 minutes into the song. So No for that one. For The Record is the best next single: beautiful voice, memorable, catchy and sentimental for the fans especially. Thanx 4 nothing would be ok without all the chatter in the song. I actually like that one. Side Effects should be released in the fall or Winter maybe as the last single. Record it live while on tour and rock out with Prince or Lenny Kravitz on guitar and record a live concert video at the same time. That song will need special treatment to get it to radio. Don't just put it out there to fall flat, it is too special. Promotion will be key. which song can you perform on night time and day time TV... I agree whoever made these last couple changes and choices s/b beaten and whipped and tossed out. It's the Voice people.
I think [I stay in Love] should be a single inevitably in the near future. It's got the potential to be a massive hit cuz MC sounds so authentic and the song makes me feel something 4 real. I think For the Record is awesome, but should be the last single off the album (duh, she wants the #1s record, the song's called for the record). Side Effects is so different than anything else right now, so I'm sure it would make some noise! It's dark, mysterious, and unlike anything else on the album. Go with SE!!! After that, I'd choose I stay in love then something else before then going with For the record. That would be so cool if FTR was her 21st #1!

Okay, i listened to E=MC again entire album, the entire day!!just because of this poll really got me the entire day too..there should be more of this kind!lol..THANX 4 NOTHING was a surprise, good song. I Stay In Love is my bet! It is an excellent song, like the Mariah of the old days. It will regain some fans who like the old MC, while its midtempo tune makes it contemporary. The current single choices off the EMC2 album do not make sense to me. Side effects is also great. I'm sure it will be a Number 1 hit, but over-all I Stay In Love is the best from this album, and personally, her best song ever. I would say that Migrate, Side Effects, Love Story(This one is beautiful and acustic sounds just gorgeous),And For The Record is very special to us as Fans bc we can relate to the part where you say " Fro the record , You"ll Always Be a Part of Me no matter what you do , For the Record can't nobody say I didn't give My All to ,For the record , I told you underneath the stars that you belong to me, and for the Record, It's obvious that we cannot let go of Us Honeyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor Mariah. This CD could have been the smash album of the year but her songs choices are awful. This is how I would have done it: 1. Touch My Body (Nice flirty single that was a good intro to the albumrelease) 2. Migrate / Cruise Control (Should have been a double sided A/B single because they are both summer song hits. 3. I Stay In Love (Nice song that would be a continuation of We Belong Together, plus she would need a ballad after 3 uptempo songs) 4. Im That Chick (A groovy song that shows a different side of Mariah. It would showcase that nice Ne-Yo and smooth R and B music everyone likes) 5. Side Effects ( Perfect for the winter/early spring months. It is a dark and edgy track that would be a smash hit) 6. For The Record ( A beautiful spring/summer ballad that could close the album and if all these singles went to number one it would be "For The Record")
I second "I Stay In Love." It is the jam! But who agrees with me that the label shot itself in the foot by releasing "Bye Bye" and "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time." What were they thinking? I think there's two kinds of reviews. There's the reviews that come from real lambs and there's the professional reviews that single out specific tracks when the album is released. i.e. Almost every E=MC2 review said that I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time was no. 1-worthy but fans are obviously not feeling the love. Soooooooooo, I think the next single should be one that gets picked based on true popularity because the last 2 were expected to go to #1 but weren't the most popular according to people that ACTUALLY bought the album. So, it doesn't really matter too much what the 4th single is as long as it's not a WTF like "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time." Let's see how much Def Jam listens to its fans.

Some of you people are to be ashamed of yourselves (calling yourself a Mariah fan, what?). Making statements like E=MC2 could have been big or album of the year, maybe it's not the songs it's the market. When Mariah came back in 05, it was her time to shine, everybody wanted to love her again. Now it's E=MC2, and people want to have their "say so". Where were you during Glitter and Charmbracelet? I can tell you I still supported her then, and happened to liked some of those songs. Whatever songs Mariah wants out she will put out.
She needs to release 'MIGRATE!!!' She has an instant #1 single right here! I do not understand why it has taken so long for them to decide whether to make it a single. It's a pure waste if not released! It's not worn out either. 'Piece Of Me' got hype before it was released and it still got to #18 on billboard without promotion! The world NEEDS TO HEAR THIS SONG!

1st i wanna say i hope and pray 2 God that Mariah herself actually reads this and not a person hired 2 sit behind a desk and answer 4 her. but my vote is 4 "Migrate" and "Side Effects". Migrate is a great song thats fun and mid/up-tempo. plus, come on now... T-Pain, u cant go wrong!!!! summers end is around the corner and clubs are packed wit everybody migratin from one 2 another. the song is amazing. and Side Effects, OMG, i jus cant get enuff of this song. Jeezy is brilliant! this song not only hip-hip infused but also REAL r&b @ the same song. its the rare (in my opinion) song with an unbeleivably amazing beat that jus makes u wanna dance AND is real and alot of people not only women can relate 2. Migrate and Side Effects is sumthin most wont expect from Mariah and that will hit them hard! also dont sleep on "For the Record" she gotta release that 2!!! either way i love u Mariah!!!!!
i love Cruise Control...since the very beginning and Mariah sounds really different, but I think Side Effects should be released as a single. But whatever you are planning to release MC, I'll give my all to support it. Pips, don't forget to vote for her for the VMA's. :D
Actually I listen to the radio ALOT and i hear alot of requests for Migrate and OOC. And I hear alot more OOC than Migrate. I'm jus sayin......
