Idiotic, unenlightening and pointless question. Go back to misinterpreting David Hume.

Definitely a silly poll, but the results are even sillier.

I know I'm a tough guy to please. This is a silly poll but doesn't suffer from your typical idiot poll problem. On the other hand maybe your polls are only filled with leading choices when they are about Obama which would be it's own kind of bad. For what it's worth while I don't think McCain is exploiting "racial prejudice" at the same time I don't think Obama is really playing the race card. I think McCain is engaging in identity politics against Obama based on him having a foreign father, a foreign name, and being fairly young. I don't see why it is beyond the pale to criticize McCain for being old but it is fair game to criticize Obama for being young.

Obviously, he's exploiting racial prejudice. The old Marc Ambinder would have the balls/brains to admit this. All that time in front of the keyboard seems to have caused both to atrophy, in addition to adding 80 pounds to your gut.

Ambinder, you dolt, nobody's asking you to atone for your pattern of pushing smears against Obama by turning around and issuing, for once, a leading question against McCain. This egregious example, far from absolving you, serves only to highlight what everyone finds so frustrating about post-Watergate political journalism, a carnival of piety and disingenuous even-handedness whose style your work exemplifies. Quit making such a bitch of yourself to serve your illusory journalistic ideals, Ambinder, and start reporting what you see—maybe you'll even make something of yourself, someday.

Do you not think that showing a photograph of Obama in the ad with the words 'Foreign Oil' next to his face is not subliminally racist? I do.

Here's a question for Marc and reasonable Republicans (if there are any left), were the attacks on Harold Ford exploiting racial prejudice? If you conclude, as I do, that they were than why is the man responsible for them now working for McCain? Answer, because McCain has lost his moral compass. We'll see more and more distraction and Rovian tactics from him rather than focusing on the issues. Why, because McCain is on the wrong side of them with the great majority of the American people. The only reason he has a chance in this election is because our citizens are largely uninformed (apathetic) or misinformed (manipulated) and half of them find it as difficult to let go of the Republican brand as a smoker does their Marlboros.

Again, we a distraction covering up another distraction. What about the economy, national security, energy independance and other real issues. The Karl Rove GOP has taken over the campaign of the "Straight Talk Express" and McCain says he is "Proud" of their ads. As a journalist its important to get back to issues and not dwell on the distractions and character assasinations of the last several Karl Rove election cycles. The polls don't help. They further the distractions.

It's not so much that he's exploiting race, he's exploiting a topic that he knows Obama will have to respond to and the media will obsess over in order to take control of the dialog. Is that more disgusting than using it to exploit racial prejudice? I don't know, but I find sickening.
