Ambinder, you little fucktoad, put up a similar one for McCain, otherwise your bias is bigger than your ass.

What a dumb comment from the person above. Has anyone speculated that McCain is presuming he'll win this race? Let's be honest -- Obama's in front right now, and he knows it. (And personally, I don't see anything wrong with him acknowledging that).

To the extent you can Marc, you should add another field along the lines of "Barack Obama is no more or less presumptious than your typical major party presidential nominee."

i don't know that i've met anybody who's PERFECTLY humble. i can't imagine anyone who was thinking they ought to lead the free world. unless you got these questions from FoxNews and are trying to make a part, this is pretty weak stuff.

Ambinder examines the rhetoric of the campaigns. McCain's rhetoric is about Obama's star-like qualities and presumption. The media is also covering Obama this way.

What is the point of this? What can you possibly do with it that will be enlightening? If he is presumptuous, so what? Are GWB presumptuous? Did anybody ever ask him? What does it have to do with how he will lead America? Once again, American pundits and journalists are falling for the okie-doke. Take your eye off the ball, and this time next year we'll be in full-scale depression, at war with Iran, and facing imminent collapse as a nation. Congratulations on your cuteness.

That may be the first time this decade Marc has been called cute. At least not by McCain. Seriously Marc, these polls are still 'when did Obama stop beating his wife'

So Ambers thinks Obama is uppity? Jesus Marc, racist much?

An even more humble question: John McCain is completely incompetent. is perfectly accomplished. is not yet completely incompetent but needs to be more careful about what he does.

Making Polls is easy but you always get it wrong in the same way. What do you expect to learn from these shit polls? All you have to do is take out the word "perfectly" out. Here is one for you: John McCain Is Sharper than he's ever been Showing a significant decline in his mental faculties Very senile and unfit to be president See I'm doing the same thing you are, I use two extremes to try and get people to agree that the middle option is true. I'm sure plenty of people don't think McCain's had a significant mental decline but are too honest to say that he's never been sharper. How is this hard for you? I don't get it. What's wrong with your brain that you can't get something so simple right time after time? Do you not get why people have a problem with it?

Marc, this is ridiculous. Nobody is "perfectly humble", especially not politicians running for president. The only way I can interpret this poll is as underhanded rhetoric on your part, attempting to persuade people that Obama has a "humility problem". Please, go report some facts instead.

Where's the option for "This Poll Is Shite?" Wait . . . where is the option for "Every Poll Is Shite?"

A poll idea from a 6 year old -- just take whatever fecal matter the Rove campaign throws out there, and a "journalist" will posit it as a legitimate issue for discussion. "Is Obama a piece of shit?" Yes___ No_____ Not Sure _____ McCain: -- a total goddam vile sell-out fraud? -- an old senile man? -- a perfect maverick, modest about his POW status, unwavering in his stands, and running on his record and vision?

I feel Obama has faced many opponents in his career. Even before politics, it takes balls to run for editor of the Harvard Business Review. Both Hilary's campaign and now McCain in knows they can't beat him as an orator, and an idea man. So, even though Obama's opponents may not have a racist bone in their body, they feel the only way to beat him is to accuse him of being "presumptuous", i.e "UPIDY BLACK BOY". This doesn't work - ask Bill Clinton. As the saying goes, "He who travels from home, spreading manure, will have a troubled journey going back home. On a similar note, I have lost all faith in Bob Kerry since his Iowa campaign trip for Hilary - where he just about called Obama a terrorist. The last day or so I lost all respect for a columnist I held dear - Dana Milbank. Everything Obama says is put under a microscope, desected and analysed for any flaw. i bet his source was a disgruntled Hilary supporter who hates Obama for "Not waiting his turn." Any politician - especially those who run for president - thinks highly of themselves. To publish an article that Obama thinks he is Jesus, based on Hilary supporters is disgraceful to journalism. I will switch channels from now on whenever Dana is on TV and will never read his column again. I bet he thinks, Jesus is a blond white man who looks "Anglo-Saxon" and speaks like Charlton Heston. Maybe he has a fear of giving power to a charismatic black "boy" who will enslave the white race. I don't know.

We all saw Senator Obama's private thoughts in the form of a prayer he left at the Wailing Wall. It was an eloquent expression of humility. This man isn't arrogant. He may be smarter than others, but he hasn't been presumptuous. Recent exposes on his tenure as a lecturer at Chicago Law note that he never asserted himself to know the absolute truth or stake an intractible position. He has an open and curious mind, which is the proof of humbleness. He is not an idealogue who thinks he knows it all. Given the amount of security detail assigned to him, he may even have a sense that he might not make it to the White House in one piece. I know he has discussed this possibility with his wife. So, I don't think he is presumptuous like this media manufactured narrative.

Let me add my voice to the others here pointing out Ambinder's continued epic failure. I suppose you would consider it a gross betrayal of your journalistic integrity, Ambinder, if you were to use your brain and your talents to pick apart forced narratives like these. What a shame; all you can do is carry water for others.

According to your bio, you allegedly have attained a degree from Harvard College. Often this would lead one to believe that basic critical thinking skills and ethics would have entered your consciousness at some point. Then I read this: "Obama had a point, and the auto industry recommends the same thing, but nevermind; the ridicule fix is in. An effective GOP shot." Evidently the only thing that has entered you is a prodigious quantity of cupcakes.

If BO was humble, no one would vote for him. It's time for a bright, accomplished leader that believes in his ability to create meaningful change. Funny how every word he says gets dissected but dunder head makes gaff after gaff and the talking heads give it little attention. McCain is playing the "poor me" tactic like Hillary. It almost worked for her.

This shouldn't even be a question if you look at what we've got in office now, and what Obama's even remotely thinking of trying to do. Only time will tell though...
