Not sure but it could be that some of his friends are being deleted. I was a friend but I no longer get notification that David has posted a blog. I just keep checking his myspace to see if there is a blog. I assume that I am no longer a friend.

I'm 61 yr old female and a very dedicated David's fan! My job requires me to be very computer savvy, but I didn't join MySpace by choice. I visit David’s MySpace site regularly, but I don’t think it is important to register as one of his “friends”. For AI finale, I did use Gizmo to vote for ~800 times, but I agree with David, i.e. winning is not important at the end. I have ODD for sure. I am on a managerial team of a Biotech company, and I am busy all the time, but I always try to find time in the evenings to find out the most update information about David. I think our generation does have a different way to support David. I love his music, and listen to his music over and over. I always download mp3 files legally to my iPod, but I still like to have a CD in my collection. Sounds silly, but a few of my friends do the same thing. We just want to have a “hard” copy in our hands! My husband and I can’t wait to go to David’s own concert. David’s music is not a fad, and it will sustain generation and generation. My dad introduced me to all kinds of music when I was pre-teen, and I love all kinds of music, opera, jazz, classic, pop, and even some rap. He passed away in May, otherwise he would be the oldest, 93 yr old, David’s fan. I don’t think we need to worry about the number of friends on MySapce. May be we are more subdued in general, but watch out when we are at the David’s concert. Please don’t forget, we are Elvis and Beatles generation.

I have visited David's official myspace site quite a number of times but I find it convoluted and confusing, I guess I'm one of those 'technically challenged' people haha. I find Fanblast a far easier site to navigate and it's very user friendly plus all the information I need to satisfy my ODD! I think David has numerous dedicated fansites all over the internet and his fan base is somewhat 'splintered'. Maybe that's why his myspace friends are not higher. But in my opinion the proof of the pudding will be when his single and cd comes out. Will all those 'friends' invest money in his music? To me it's very obvious that sites like Fanblast consists of very dedicated, passsionate and loyal fans who will definitely put money where their mouth is. As a matter of fact just by reading the comments to all the posts you can see that many fans have gone to or plan to go to the AI tour to see David. I know I'm going to support David by buying his music the legal way but I can't go for the concerts as I'm not from the US. So I hope that ALL his fans will make sure that his single and cd will sell in the millions cause those are the numbers that WILL count.

Here we go again....sadly, this was predictable. So many people are so laid back about promoting David.... They continuously discount all contests, polls, tv award shows...and now MySpace. Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, for I am a firm believer that any press is good press...and all press is key to success. David needs us to work every single angle available. We can't be jaded or cynical...we must act like there is no tomorrow! Yes, even if that exposes us to the potential for being let down, disappointed, sad, hurt, whatever. We never want to lose anything, but sometimes it happens despite our best efforts. But I, for one, want to be able to say at the end of the day that I did every possible, conceivable thing I could do to get him where he needs to be...that I didn't overlook one opportunity...that I didn't take anything for granted or poo-poo any means by which to promote him. That's my opinion, and now I've said it. Peace and Archie love to you all. So, now, let's go get this boy some awards, some $$ sales and some myspace hits, comments and friends! :) GO DAFTG!!

I'm a big fan of David! I visit his myspace all the time to get updates but I didn't sign up for myspace. I have a lot of respect for every member of the site but I have personal reasons why I didn't sign up. I prefer friendster. Just so everyone knows.... he's got more fans signing up here even if its not his official website... He has over 31K friends in my spcase and friendster fansclub has over 54K. We love him, check this out http://www.friendster.com/fans/62879790 If you have a myspace, please let David know that there are more fans who love him by sending this link to him. More than he thinks :)

Oh and by the way ... when you go to his profile in friendster, it will play all of the 26 songs that David performed in idol from audition to final. So it makes it really convenient! Try it ... http://profiles.friendster.com/62879790 It plays randomly too!

Remember folks that Archie's official MySpace page only just went live after Idol ended. Brooke,Jason and Cook have had their MySpace pages for a long time. That is why they have more "friends". It's ridiculous really. How many are actually friends...5? I used to have a MySpace page but I found it to be too much work to maintain and keep interesting for others. Archie's page could be better designed and maintained but he appears to need help. Having alot of MySpace friends is good for an artist I'm sure, but probably no guarantee that their cd will be a big seller. For Archie it will all come down to Jive and getting his song on the radio.

Well, I am not a friend because I have not gotten an approval from him or whomever manages the site. I sent the request about 1 month ago. I know I sent the request properly because my teenage girls did it for me. I check check it every day and nothing. I go to his my space to get blogs and/or Fanblast. Is it suppose to take this long? Will I get approval after the Tour? Does anyone know the answer?

I'm 63 years old and I'm a big fan of David A’s. I really like his music and he is an amazingly nice, young individual. I wish more young people could be like him. I often visit his myspace website because I enjoy listening to his music, reading his written updates and viewing his video blogs. It’s also interesting to read responses from his friends and fans. It is a way for me to stay informed about David, including information on his CDs. However, I did not sign up as one of his friends because I don’t think his success depends on it. Furthermore, I can’t think of anything I can say to him that hasn't already been said by many of his dedicated fans. He probably doesn’t have time to read and respond to the comments anyway. He is so busy with the American Idol Tour and working on his CDs. He will also have to focus on his education after the Summer Tour. My way of supporting David A. is to stay in touch with his progress, buy his CDs and attend his concerts. I’m looking forward to doing both and I hope to hear him on the radio. I attended the American Idol Summer Tour in San Jose, CA, which I thoroughly enjoyed, especially David A’s performance. I also voted for him a thousand times for him to win American Idol. I’m sure there are many many more fans of David A’s that don’t necessarily tune into his myspace or sign up as a friend. I believe his success will mainly depend on his many fans that are willing to buy his CDs, attend his concerts and provide whatever support he needs.

Hey, I think David would be okay with doing whatever you are comfortable with! The important thing is: we all love David Archuleta and we need to support him however we can! I love FanBlast for providing the best information, stories and pictures, being the most loyal (love you-FanBlast) and I also love David's MySpace as a direct link to David. I don't think one has to be more important than the other. Can't we enjoy both??? Yeah, we don't know if he reads everything or not, but David is a teenager and teenagers love MySpace! David has said so!! I joined not only to support David, but also because I can just see him really feeling good when he reads the comments he receives. People love him!! I want David to have that direct link when he reads all of the wonderful comments people send him. Bottom line, I think everyone here loves David, and what will matter the most, as has been previously stated, is how many CD's we buy. (I've already pre-ordered 10 and will probably add 10 more next month-I will run out of people to give them to, haha!! Let's not turn this into a big deal. You are not being disloyal to one website if you join the other.

I too am an older fan of David's (I'm in my 50's) and live in Canada. Just one of the countless numbers of International fans who love him very much - his singing is absolutely amazing, his spirit and character are also amazing. What an incredible young man! I agree though that you don't necessarily have to sign up on his myspace to be a supportive fan. Maybe it's true that some of us older fans are not really into the "myspace thing" or not comfortable with it. I am however, glad that he does have the page up, I do check it regularly for updates as well as regularly checking out fanblast - great site by the way! I support David in whatever way I can. I try and keep up on what's happening with him, vote for him in the polls, etc. and will definitely be attending his future concerts. I certainly will be purchasing all of his future music. I have already pre-ordered his new album and ordered extra copies for relatives and friends. I am sure that there are many, many others such as myself who are huge fans of David's, even if we are not a friend on his myspace. We are however, friends to him in every other way that we can be and will remain loyal fans!

I am a fan and a friend on my space......With that said however, I really don't think it is important to his success. Look how many people visit this site? Look how many people watch his You Tube videos...I think his Crazy was up to 30,000 hits in less than a month... Look at Imagine,,,is it almost 2 million hits now? He will be a superstar and those of us who feel in "love" with him from his first audition will be joined by millions more over the months & years as he continues to roll out his fantastic brand of music.
