My local library doesn't carry enough ebooks to sustain my interests in reading. I have stopped buying my own copies of most books to help save paper and energy in publishing them.
I haven't bought a book in years. I buy e-books for school, read all my news online, and just swap books with friends.
I only buy used books and get all of my news online.
Being a published author, I know I should read e-books but I don't. I think it's a psychological thing with me, for some odd reason, I cannot retain any fiction books I read online. Besides, I love everything about hard printing of books--the look, the feel, the SMELL of paper and ink. Also, I adore browsing in bookstores, large and small, new and used, and library sales; it gives me a sense of freedom to entertain myself for a change! I am trying to make as many green choices as I can, but I hope the printed word stays around somehow, even if we have to go back to papyrus to do it!
After I got my iPod and starting downloading music, it seemed a logical step to download audio books. I miss out on some of sthe charts and graphs, but I can get the factual and statistical stuff online, along with my news.
