I both teach college in Dayton, OH and work for a software company in Seattle, WA. Both jobs involve telecommuting since I live in OH. My courses involve campus visits, but also distance learning. My job in Seattle is totally via the net. I took a significant salary cut (20%) in order to be in Dayton to take care of an aging parent and aging in-laws. It is more than worth it except for the fact that while Seattle's cost of living is higher, let's face it, Dayton is not the Pacific Northwest. Still, it works for me.
