I would like to watch interviews with Zappos employees and hear first hand what they do at the company and what keeps them there. Any funny and unique stories they have of providing unexpected service would also be interesting.

I would like to see how you integrate your computer system with all the programs. The website is horrible. I am one year into this company and was brought on to expand the business. Ecommerce seems the way to go these days. My knowledge is extremely limited but expanding every day. My goal is AUTOMATION. I have been refining our order sales pitches, marketing programs, order processes and distributor relationships. The next logical step is to get the site up and running, then automation time!! I have no idea what I am doing but it seems like i'm looking to do something similar to what Zappos has going on.

because Zappos is such a phenom / success I'm all about the early days to today. i think zappos should get covered in the next editions of Founders at Work.

I think it would be amazing to see all of it (I did vote on one though) I think you have a great company and would love to see how you pull all of it together and still seem to have a great time.

I'd love to see all of it but particularly interested in how you recruit and hire... and determine culture fit. i believe that the first step in keeping your retention rate high is getting your hiring right. i think zappos has done a great job in that! :D

I would like to be a stuffed monkey in the coconut tree when decisions are being make as they relate to employee retention, employee grow and training and how Zappos will effect and change the "old corporate guard"... START the revolution. People having fun at work??? It is about time!

I would love to see it all - the entire operation intrigues me. I read the blog, i'm twittering with a bunch of you already.

I have considered applying to work at zappos to go through the training and get a understanding of how it all is. (You could even keep the bonus $$$$)

Unfortunately I and haven't found a good way of selling this idea to my company to have it happen. Going to both Vegas and Kentucky would be interesting.

When I ran an employer business I used to say "I don't have employees, I have a caseload." I know there is work going on over there, but it looks like one big party. How do you do it?

I've seen the pictures and some videos of it and I think it would be fascinating to know more about how it runs so smoothly. Yes, I'm talking about the warehouse, 24/7, millions of shoes, how does it all work together?

Would really like a tour of the Marketing area, and be able see the direction, and innovative ideas, brainstorming sessions, best practices etc of how it functions. I think your marketing concept is brilliant.

I want to see how I can be hired to run your Paris/European division. Or be your "Style Hunter" in the oversees market.

    Any openings for that???

I want to see how you leverage your industry-leading customer service as a marketing vehicle. And how you plan on expanding on that opportunity.

  • Jeff Crites - 16 years ago

Wondering if you have a mammoth, see-thru display closet of shoes, dubbed the 'Imelda Marcos'.

You might also want to produce a fun marketing video where you follow a new customer purchase from point of contact all the way til the delivery at home. Literally have an employee fly with the UPS or FedX plane, holding the box of shoes, then riding shotgun with the delivery truck, and all the way into the person's house to see if they fit correctly. And having a meal with the family before returning back to Zappos, with the shoes, because they didn't quite fit right. But that's not a problem ... :-) Going the Extra Mile would be the title.

I think its all about your team, in the end, people wanna know how do you create a good team, keep them happy, harvest their ideas, promote within and get everyone to take the bullet for ya if need be. Businesses that do this outlast, and outshine the competition cause management believes in the product it sells, the service it provides and above all the team its created.

I just want to see all the shoes :-P
