Those "poor" people who will be "disenfranchised" drive better cars than I do, have better cell phones than I do, buy better food at the supermarket than I do, manage to collect their "govmint entitlement" checks, etc. etc.

Their ID seems to work just fine at those places.

Lessen restrictions? It's a FREE state issued identification card. Could this be any simpler or more common sense? Ensuring the veracity of ballots case and, thus, accurate results is a necessary requirement. This is rational and reasonable.
