Let's be more specific. What do you watch? What kind of music do you listen to? My main craft is crocheting, and when I'm starting a long project I like long TV marathons to go with it. Usually TV shows on DVD. I recently watched the entire Arrested Development Series while working on a project. Other favourites include Angel, Buffy, Farscape, Firefly, Deadwood, and Futurama. Usually it's something I've seen before, but haven't seen in a long time, so that I don't have to keep my eyes on the screen the whole time :)
I put TV, but more often than not it's a movie... generally of the old musical variety. Long ones like Fiddler on the Roof and My Fair Lady are favorites for the purpose!
I also put dvd seasons on when crafting, right now Im watching 7th Heaven on dvd, Im almost finished season 4.
i put music. but i also hang out with my friends. but most of the time i listen to music :D
I totally agree with Amber, I love Firefly, Arrested Development, Ghost Whisperer , Dexter.. I like things I can watch over and over again because since most of my crafts require at least some visual attention I miss parts of the show so I get something new out of it every time. I don't have cable so I have to rely on dvds and *gasp* illegal downloads! Haha, I love to craft and I miss my cable lol.
I usually watch True Crime shows or throw on trusty favorite movies I have seen so many times I don't have to glance up to know what's going on.
Since it's the summer, I always want to go outside when I craft. I imagine sitting on the front balcony and crocheting. Then I think about the wind, dirt, and bugs...mostly the wind, so I usually end up in front of the TV. As usual, I stick with movies or TV seasons I've seen before so I don't miss anything new. Just finishing up the first season of Gilmore Girls.
More often than not, I'm knitting while waiting in a doctor's office. Between my bad hand and my youngest's mutliple trips to specialists ... it seems I spend most of my days in waiting rooms! LOL
I can't knit and have the TV on, unless it's something I'm not interested in.
I put listen to NPR or talk radio, but that's because it's mostly NPR and a few other podcasts via iTunes. When I had TV, I did that, too. Sometimes a movie that doesn't take close watching like something I've seen a bunch of times, have borrowed from a friend rather than rented or Netflixed or something stupid I don't care about.
Am I the only one that does crafts mainly while waiting between battlegrounds in World of Warcraft?...

And good music during every other time is crucial.
Haha! It's OK Spirited, I tend to knit small things (socks, mostly), during long flights and boat trips on WoW. ;) Sometimes I'll take the long way somewhere just to finish a row!
I put "hang with friends" but its a combo - coz with my friends, usually music is involved and its usually in a public place... I find crafting in public makes people wanna talk more, wondering what you're doing, offering suggestions or advice (!!! ack !!!) or just embark upon random conversation. =) Love it!
I voted for 'Nothing. Crafting takes my full attention.' because there's no TV in our craft room and my iPod is new and only has country on it so there's really nothing else stimulating in the room besides what I'm crafting. Also, because most of the stuff I do involves a sewing machine or paint, I can't very well drag that through the house. I think I might bring my newest project down and work on it while watching some TV tonight, though. It'll be an adventure ^_^
Hehe Spirited, i tend to craft whislt playing World of Warcraft too!
God bless being able to multi task :D
Well it's multi task, or being addicted to WoW so that i never get to craft if i don't do both :P
