I have a TivoHD and the only source besides the ethernet is OTA. I live in the Portland Oregon area and get great quality from all the digital channels.

When HD first started rolling out several of the local affiliates refused to provide a HD signal to our local cable carriers so I would have loved to take advantage of the Series 3's OTA capabilities. Unfortunately, one of it's limitations is that you can use OTA or Cable with the Series 3's dual tuners, but not both.
I would if only you could do both simultaneously!
