Do you favor banning the use of the whip in horse racing?

I think a major reform of how the whip is used should be decided and implemented wherever horse racing takes place, whether it is Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse or Arabian horse racing. What do you think?

I believe that "showing" the whip should be enough, or no whip at all. These horses run their hearts out. If they're not going fast enough, then they just aren't going to win. I just watched the video of Jockey Rose and all the jockeys seemed to be whipping their horses, even when the ones at the very back had no chance in winning anyway. What's the point? If you're horse is running near the back, just let him enjoy it or pull up (if you can). Don't punish him for it! I can't watch horse racing anymore and haven't for many years - it's too painful and sad, and I totally disagree with the industry. I know their are a few good guys out there that really care for them, but it's not enough. I can't wait for the day a breeding program across America is put into place. I certainly don't understand why it hasn't happened yet.

Whips should never be used, they don't make the horse go any faster and they cause a lot of pain. I am so against horse racing to start with. It should be banned once and for all. It's all about money and has nothing to do with the welfare of the horse. No animal should be exploited.
