Ron Paul does NOT want us to write in his name. Please choose another candidate. We need your votes to count!!
Please research it. Ron Paul does NOT want us to "write-in" his name.

Barr is a real spoiler and so is Baldwin. Come on folks don't hand it to the dems by splitting the vote!

If the alternative is John McBush, then handing it to the Dem's is the best choice. But I'd never vote for one of them.

In my state (UT), write-in candidates, unless registered with the state as such, don't even have their vote counted, so a write-in vote is truly a wasted vote.

This year, I don't think a 'write-in' is a wasted vote. To me, it's a vote that says, "I will not play the same old game." The Republicans have shown nothing better than the Democrats. They made their 'choice' too quickly, and with no good reason. So where's the loss? If Ron Paul isn't in the Office, it will be a real battle, either way.

its not a wasted vote if you vote from the heart. I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils ever again! You and God know who you voted for and thats all that matters.

We can write him in. In Texas however we also have to write in a Vice President. Who gets that seat?

I do not think I have a choice of writing in a candidate in Oklahoma.
Any vote that is counted is a plus. It will be one american that will not vote for one of the insiders. Now if we want one candidate to get the most, I see Baldwin being much more freedom orientated than Barr, so I would recommend voting for Baldwin. He will be speaking at THE MARCH, this July. I hope to be able to make it. It is a, if not the, defining occurrence in our time. Go Freedom Lovers!

Apparently (I have not verified this) your write-in HAS to be counted if you vote by absentee ballot. Anybody have any thoughts about this?

I wish there were a "still undecided" category. There are no good choices! Also, it depends on the polls come November - if Obama seems likely to win, I may have to hold my nose and vote for McCain.

2008-07-09 09:41:05 ET

Jeff,
You don't have the option of write-ins in OK. You also won't have the option of Balwin. Barr is working to get on the ballot in OK so he'll be on the ballot in all 50 states. OK is the toughest to get on. So for OK your best bet, maybe only real choice is Bob Barr.

2008-07-09 09:46:04 ET

My thoughts are that Barr is polling at 6% nationally. In NH he is at 10%. 6% nationally is 4-7 million voters. Well more than the 1.2 million Paul received in the primaries. Barr is building on what Paul started and if we want to see a candidate with similar positions as Paul to get into the debates to stick it to Obama and McCain then all Paul supporters need to get behind Barr now.

The enemies are Obama and McCain...and their two party system. Let's break the system this year. If Barr gets into the debates, it will happen...just as Perot and Ventura getting into the debates boosted them from 5-7% to 20-38%.

Call your Secretary of State to find out if write-in votes count in your state. They count in mine and probably get counted better than if it went through the scanner! The scanner pops them out and several people have to verify the write in. Anyone can be written-in in my state. Mickey Mouse got two votes last election and that was published in the official results. So I'm writing Ron Paul in. I mean after all of this, I can't possibly waste my vote on anyone else! Writing him in will be poetic in a way. I can't wait!!!

What I think I am seeing here is a lot of Libertarians voting for CIA Bob for the same reason that so many republicans are voting for McCain. Just voting for the party label. This career politician, with a long history of voting for the neocon agenda comes from out of Republicanville. claims he has seen the light, and gives a few Libertian sounding speeches,,, and then all Libertarians vote for him over other candidates who have been loyal to the cause for many years and have been working hard to promote freedom and liberty during all these years whe CIA Bob was in DC, consistantly voting for anti-liberty neoncon legistlation. Is Barr's conversion for real ? Who knows? But do you really want to hand over the leadership of the party to a newcomer, who has done absolutely nothing to prove himself to be a genuine freedom fighter? Is it so easy to just walk in, say a few of the right words, and then take over the leadership of the LP?? Sure looks like it. By constrast, you have Chuck Baldwin who has been a fellow revolutionary in the Ron Paul movement from the very beginning, and has worked tirelessly to campaign for Dr. Paul, has enthusiastically praised Dr. Paul in all his public speaking, and often makes himself available for such events as speaking at Ron Paul Meet-Up groups, speaking at the Revelution March, and appearing on Revolution Broadcasting. Where is CIA Bob hanging out these days while all these things are going on?? Shouldn't we remember that actions speak louder than words? One more thing; if you really want to experience true liberty, never vote for a candidate who wants to tax you. Taxation and liberty can not co-exist. Barr would abolish the income tax ( or so he says) but would replace it with a national sales tax.. which Dr. Paul has warned us can be just as bad as the income tax. On the other hand, Chuck Baldwin agrees with Dr. Paul that we need to abolish the income tax, and replace it with NOTHING. That is a huge issue, if you understand what is needed in order to realize genuine freedom. Is this not more important than a party label??

In the state of Arizona, the ballet is thrown out if any additional marks are made. Two years ago, before Dr. Paul even announced, I promised him my vote. Now that I have found out Arizona throws the ballet away, I'll have to break my promise, and I know Ron Paul will understand. I will vote for Bob Barr in the Libertarian Party, mainly because I want the Libertarian Party to get the credit for "spoiling" McCain's run for President. The numbers in the Libertarian vote will be a slap in the face to the Republican Party, and in future debates can be used to demonstrate just how many voters the Republican Party has lost. The two party system holds us all hostage and we need to not deal or negotiate with the "terrorists" aka Washington elites.

If the state ballet has a write-in (Arizona does not), then I think writing Ron Paul is fine, but know this: those states will do all in their power not to calculate those write-ins, or report them. At least voting Libertarian Party will show a concerted effort, especially since getting us to agree on anything is like herding cats.

Prepare for the economic judgement day... it is quite apparent there are multiple detractors from our freedom and being prepared for this certainty would be highly advisable. Store food, fuel, water, ammunition and be prepared for the day of reckoning. Major cities are not advisable when this social breakdown reaches dramatic proportions.

I'm sorry that past and existing generations failed to stop the hubris. The least we can do is what we can to protect our liberties and family.
Some economic analysts are putting this Fall/Winter as their main concern.

We have to take the Ron Paul Revolution, and make it a local revolution. Get rid of all corrupt politicians and prepare for a major economic collapse, followed by a major decentralization of this country and many other countries. The decentralization is a good thing, because just like the Greeks knew there was a carrying capacity for democracy, so too is the decentralization going to be good. That is why your local politicos must be liberty-oriented. Challenge them and win. If they declare states of emergency to the extent of martial law, they have just innitiated the encroachment and threat of violence using military/police and you are right to do what we must. We are seeing the demise of our country, but perhaps the states could survive and we could use this as an opportunity to go closer to what the Articles of Confederation had intended, decentralized power.

Good luck, and God bless!

Clearly the right is split between Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin and writing in Ron Paul. My hope is that Ron Paul himself will step up to the plate and sort this mess out and endorse someone. My preference is Baldwin but I would rather we suck it up and all get behind one option and one candidate gets 5% than we split the vote between the 3 choices and the media disnmisses us again as fringe kooks with no support.

McCain is a worse embarrassment to the American People than what we have now, a disgraceful abuser of freedom, Prosperity and Peace.

Obama is not much better..tho' there is talk of a Hagel Veep..that would sway my vote..Hagel is going to tour the Middle East with Obama..Reed is also going..
Ron Paul said he has a great deal of respect for Hagel.

Granny Warrior sent out an email yesterday wanting an opinion of a notion to sue RP for backing out on his word to continue his campaign for President till the RNC convention.

I don't know. I respect RP's decisions, what ever his reason for stopping the presidential campaign, like all his decisions, are right and just.

As badly as I want to hold on to HOPE of Ron Paul winning the POTUS, I have to stand by Ron's decision. How about you?

Bob Barr is nothing like Ron Paul. He is former CIA, was involved with the UN, won't get out of NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO,UN,NATO, voted for the Patriot Act, knows nothing or wants to know nothing about the Fed, wants to introduce the Fair Tax, the national sales tax which will balloon federal revenues, strengthen the central government, cause untold fraud, and eventually rise to ???%; who will stop it? People who are thinking of voting for Barr should dig a little deeper into his background and his thinking and turn on your BS detector. He is no Ron Paul. The closest of the candidates to Ron Paul is without doubt, Chuck Baldwin. Check him out too.

My suggestion has always been for the constitutional parties, all of them, to form a new federal party under a new banner but using the Libertarian Party legal framework because they are, so I have been informed, on the ballot in all 50 states. (All that is needed is to change the name for the federal races, which is, I believe, very easy to do). The alliance parties, like the Constitution Party, the Libertarian Party and the American First Party, can all keep their State level organizations and compete on social policy at the State level because this is where they differ the most. The main planks on the new federal party platform should be the ones that Ron Paul has campaigned on and Ron Paul shoud be the Presidential candidate. This would energize ALL the non-Republicrat activists around a single candidate and they would have a big impact; he may even win if the economy really tanks and people become angry enough. Let the Republicrats split their votes.

Chris is right. A write-in vote for Ron Paul is a completely wasted vote. I am huge Ron Paul supporter but will be voting for Chuck Baldwin.

You gotta look at the facts here- Write-in votes for Ron Paul WILL NOT BE COUNTED!

Ron has chosen NOT to fill out the required paperwork and get the signatures needed to be a valid write-in candidate. This is something you have to do in order for your votes to be counted. If you write-in Ron Paul your vote is not going to be counted but will go straight in the trash. You might as well write-in Jesus Christ cause they won't count that either!

Chuck Baldwin however, whom was a huge supporter of Ron Paul and has essentially the same platform as Ron and has even been called by Ron, "a good friend", is on the ballot in lots of states and has write-in status in the ones where he is not on the ballot.

So, do what Ron Paul would do and vote for Chuck!!

AJ

That is NOT true that Ron Paul doesn't want a write-in vote! To vote for anyone else if you are truly a Ron Paul supporter WOULD be a vote wasted!
It CAN be done and we MUST try! Any other candidate will just give us 4 more years of spiraling down to the bottom!

I am a staunch Ron Paul supporter. I'm sorry he stopped his campaign. But I think he seen the writing on the wall. Magically, McCain came out of utter defeat around December to lead in the polls and acquire hoards of cash from nowhere. Ron knew that when it's done, it's done. So, after viewing Chuck Baldwin's video clips I find that he supports the same things Ron Paul supports and he was also a staunch supporter of Ron Paul. Even though I voted in the poll that I would write in Ron Paul I'm going to put my financial support and vote to Chuck Baldwin. I'm for changing this country to the one and kind that was envisioned by our founders. Chuck Baldwin fits the mold.

After much consideration I will be voting for Baldwin. Even though Barr has the better organization and campaign, Baldwin is the closest match to Ron Paul. Unfortunately the Baldwin campaign sucks. I mean ask anyone wo Baldwin is and you get a blank stare. I don't understand why Baldwin is not touring the country giving speeches to Ron Paul groups.

2008-07-15 18:42:45 ET

We've really gotta break the two party system. Our political problems are systemic. The best way is to vote Constitution Party. It's what RP's message was all about. My vote is cast for Chuck Baldwin. However, Bob Barr is better known probably moreso than Paul... at least he's been on more shows.

Time to make the Constitution Party known. Get back to our roots.

Bah... No... This election is about breaking the system. lets vote Libertarian Party.

In several of the comments here, people are mentioning that Barr is getting much more media attention that is Baldwin. Now take a minute and think about why that might be. Just remember what has happened in the last several months to Dr. Paul. What does that tell you about who does and who doesn't get media coverage?? What might be the reason the media will give coverage to Barr, but not Baldwin? Look at the track records of the 2 men, over the years, and you will find the answer. Don't be fooled, revolutionaries. Do you want to vote for someone who is acceptable to the main stream establishment media, or one that they don't want to become known?

I say we burn down every polling station because no matter what the corporations that run this country are the only real "voters". Boston Tea Party 2.0 ... Then again im an angry 19 year old thats seen this country go from bad to worse so my opinion doesnt really matter. But it would be nice to see the look on the faces of the souless sob's of the corporate monsters in shock that a few of there tools that where being used to give America a false sense of hope burn to the ground :). Id be happy. Uh oh i think they heard me *Runs from Uncle Sams watchdogs* THATS ALL FOLKS !!

My vote is for Chuck Baldwin *UNLESS* Chuck tells his supporters to get behind Ron Paul. I don't think Baldwin and Paul are going to try to further divide things between themselves. They will rally, they have a plan, and they are going to see this through to the end. These guys aren't showing up in the same place (Revolution March) for no reason. They have something up their sleeve, just keep promoting both and play it by ear.

What a ***king mess. Everyone is blabbing on and on about what path to take, and they are all different. RP is out and the troops are spreading out in all directions. Obama is going to win this ***king thing because all the Libertarian party voters, Constitution party voters, and Ron Paul write-in losers are taking votes away from McCain, who s**ks anyway. F*** Obama, the lucky B**tard. This s**ks. YOU PEOPLE HAVE TO RUN FOR OFFICE AND CHANGE OUR GOVERNMENT, ONE LIBERTY LOVER AT A TIME - IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE.

Wake up people, we need one party to gather as many votes as possible, so we can have easier ballot access and Debate COVERAGE! Writing in Ron Paul, does not help the over all cause we all believe in. Even Ron Paul has asked not to write him in. So please, I appreciate the passion, still have RP Bumper stickers on my car, but we need to consolidate for the long haul! Chuck is the closest to RP, Barr is good, but we need to pick one and go, for the long haul!

David

Have any of you actually read the platform on the Constitution Party's website? It's the religious right all over again. They specifically call out abortion, gambling, and pornography as things they take a stance on, with God being part of their reason. Sounds an awful lot like establishing a national religion to me.

Alternatively, look at the Libertarian Party's platform. Barr has my vote.
