What do you think when you hear a network is promoting an "exclusive?"

neither of the above

I laugh! The word exclusive is so overused in TV news as to be silly

I think there is an important first of its kind interview

EXCLUSIVE used to mean 'not shared with others' or 'belonging to one'. When I hear it used on all media, its not so 'exclusive', is it? I do think that its being used more as an 'attention getter', like 'EXTRA EXTRA', rather than owning the 'rights' to article.

I guess my reaction to the word "exclusive" would depend on the reporter/anchor person, and their level of credibility. With the onslaught of gossip-news, and the political party bias we're finding in mainstream media today, its rare to be able to use the words 'reporter/anchor' person and 'credibility' together in one sentence.

Exclusive is overused on ever news broadcast..... because the want to tease ahead to make it sound like they have something special that no one else has....... which everyone else that day is usually doing the exact same interview. But lets be quite honestt Fox News is an exclusive news station because they are the only channel that is completly FAIR AND BALANCED !
