Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof must be included. If only for the girl on the hood or how about Clint Eastwood in "The Dead Pool" (I think) where a model car chases him through the streets of San Francisco.
Bullitt was good, but if you look at it closely, it's like VW Bugs invaded the streets of San Francisco, they pass the same green beetle over and over again, along with a ton more parked on the sides of the streets. Almost a product placement ad....
This list missed some obvious contenders, most significantly The Road Warrior and The Italian Job (original, not the remake).
