Obama slammed Hillary for months on her yes vote for the war in Iraq. Now he picks Joe Biden who voted YES for the Iraq war and was a huge supporter of President Bush.Obama is a lier,he is a flip flopper.I don't trust him at all.For the first time in 40 years im going to cross over and vote for McCain. At least he is a war hero and I trust him.
McCain has flip flopped on many issues, including tax cuts by Bush to the wealthy that he opposed in 2002 and recently has come to support. He has flip flopped on privatizing social security after seeing how unpopular it is. There are more, but the bottom line is that these are politicians, they will flip flop when they see it as largely unpopular. I don't trust many politicians, but I still believe that President Bush has been a disaster for this country and that John McCain has sold his soul and will continue in Bush's footsteps. Yes its, tacky, but "it's time for change". It's time for new blood, it's time for Barack Obama to be our President.
Hey Ken, if you're going to call someone a liar, you should at least know how to spell it.
I'm a right winger's right wing. I think Obama is great for our election process, but an absolute disaster for the country. He's flat wrong on abortion, taxes, the military, and every issue that really matters. What stinks is that I can't stand McCain on immigration, and Campaign Finance is one of the most agregious attacks on our constitution in memory. He's cantakerous (sp) and in general - spiteful and muleheaded. To call him a continuation of Bush is just plain ignorant. They are very different, even on policies they agree on. Neither McCain nor Obama are ideal candidates. It seems to me that Obama is nothing more than a mouth piece for the left. This is where his lack of experience in the "big" game will hurt him. His actions indicate a person who truly hates his country and his policies are, at best, socialist. McCain is right more often than wrong, but when he's wrong he'll admit it...call it a flip flop if you must. The ugly truth is that liberal candidates for national office are not electable unless they flip flop or hide their true ides and ideology. Some call it moving to the center. I'm less charitable in my characterization, but the fact is they are misrepresenting themselves. Republican candidates move to the center and in the process lose elections. I won't convince anyone here to change their vote. In my opinion, McCain is too old and just flat wrong on key policy issues. Obama is dangerously inexperienced and simply not ready. The Dem's made a big mistake in not nominating that female dog Hitlery. I can't stand her, but she's is a far better candidate than Barry. I say we all vote for "none of the above", but in lieu of that, I'll hold my nose and vote for McCain.
I guess it's either bankruptcy and governmental colapse or democratic communism.
Remember Oregon, Our state will have another person on the Prez ticket to vote for BESIDES the top McCain and Obama...And to be honest that's who I'm going to vote for, cause I don't like the other two.
The numbers say it all vs. you right wing rootie kazooties with no education.
Only two choices in the poll? Sad, I believe that there are more people running for prez. Wake up Oregonian!!!! You can be journalists and cover all of the candidates. Or are your polls like voting which hollywood star wore the dress better.
icdumbpeeps: right wing rootie kazooties with no education Typical liberal. You think you're smarter than everyone else because you probably went to college. You probably want to pay less taxes but you support bleeding-heart pity-party social programs for the scores of people who sit back and collect because they just don't feel like working. Well genius, who do you think is going to pay for it? You think Obama is going to cut YOUR taxes? HA! As far as tax breaks for 'the wealthy', I'm nowhere near wealthy but even I can admit that the top tax bracket's rate is horrible (would you put in 60+ hour work weeks to get a high salary, only to have to pay back about half of it in taxes?) News to you: There are plenty of us in the right wing who not only went to college, but also graduate school, law school, and/or medical school. Personal attacks on people with whose opinion you do not agree only makes you look juvenile and uneducated. Stick to the issues, not the people expressing their opinions on them.
Actually, you got it wrong--I went to college because I'm smarter than you :P
Hey everybody, you think Obamm is so bad, how would you like to live in Illinois and have a crooked Governor besides. Cant wait untill the Governor is in a Federal Prison...wont happen untill after the election though, seems a Senator from Illinios is running and we sure would not want him to be part of the crooked politicans that the great state of Chicago is noted for now would we.
Republican, thy name is apathy.
I'd rather have lower taxes, so I'm going to cross over and vote McCain. I have a small business and I know my employees can't afford to be taxed higher on their paychecks. I have investments saved up for retirement, I don't want those taxed a a higher rate either.
Chalk up another complaint for the limited (only 2) choices in this poll: consider it boycotted, much like the RNC. Write-in Votes for this Poll: Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, Ross Perot, Michael Delavar, Me, You; Hell, anyone but these two. I'd sooner cast my vote for Ken Adachi: educate-yourself.org Or maybe Don Croft.
Two Mules just got kicked by Sister Sarah. GRAND SLAM!
I believe both men are great candidates to be president. In this crucial time of war and foreign policy. Mccain seems like the better candidate for this time period. Obama is great but inexperienced. I believe in future years to come. Obama will have a great chance in the Oval office. Mccain really supports the war but to protect the American people. Deep down I believe war is unethical and downright bad. But I believe if we want peace, war is inevitable. Our country was established by war. I don't want to repeat history again ( VN War). We started this war against terrorism. It is now time to finish it with victory.
I could only watch taped tidbits of speeches from the Republicans this week, or read the speeches in print; to watch their arrogance, condescension, and cruelty literally made me sick to my stomach. Communication skills in the style of Jerry Springer. I was embarrassed for our country. I did get relief from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert who outdid themselves showing the Republicans' true colors. I eagerly await the chance to vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
