They were suppose to have a state of the art radar on the ship and it was broken (they felt that it was too expensive to replace. They also was suppose to have an emergency response team in case of such an accident and they had disbanded them almost a year earlier.
These are to name a few of the problems with the spill. So before you go scapegoating someone do some research on the issue. Greg Palast has a great article on his website on it, and in case you don't know of him he is a great investigative reporter.

If i remember the Captain was drunk it was his fault not Exxons fault .They aren,t Saints but took on the cleanup and paid the price. I have nothing to do with Exxon or own stock from Exxon
