On the Dawkins scale, what is your belief about supernatural deities?

1. Strong theist. 100 per cent probablity of God; "I do not believe, I know

2. Very high probability but short of 100 per cent. "I cannot know for certain, but I strongly believe in God and live my life under the assumption that God exists

3. Higher than 50 per cent but not high. Somewhat agnostic, but lean toward the existance of God.

4. Exactly 50 per cent; impartial agnostic.

5. Lower than 50 per cent but not very low. Technically agnostic but leaning toward atheism. "I don't know if God exists, but I am skeptical.

6. Very low probability but short of zero: " I cannot know for certain, but I think that God is very improbable and I live my life as if no God existed

7. Strong Atheist: "I KNOW that God does not exist.

Heh, I always consider myself impartial, but after reading the wording in the poll, I found myself agreeing more the farther down I went. There's no way to prove God exists, and it's scientifically unfalsifiable--can't prove it doesn't exist. For me, it's really a moot point.

However, I doubt God exists--at least within any parameter I've ever seen for what defines "God." Also, I live my life as if he/she/it doesn't. Had to go with answer 6 on this one.

Does that make me an atheist, or am I still fluffly cuddled in the tragically trendy "agnostic" category?

Remember that this was taken almost word for word from the Dawkins book "The God Delusion". He'd call you a "de facto" atheist.

Of course, this is a one dimensional scale and doesn't take into account:

1. deists who think that some god started it all and does not interfere
2. those who think in terms of some spirit of the universe rather than some sky-daddy that answers prayers
3. Those who use things like yoga, prayer and meditation to help their lives but don't see some deity altering physics on their behalf.

So, by "god" this poll means the type of god that Christians, Jews and Muslims worship.

What God are you referring to? The Old Testament God or the New Testament God or some other? It would be nice if a definition was included, e.i. "the Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe" (Webster's dictionary).

By a "god" I mean something not of our space-time continuum that interferes with human events by suspending the laws of nature; e. g., some deity that will actually intervene.
