The vast majority of respondents indicated they stayed local. I think that is a good thing. That fuels thel local economies and minimizes carbon emissions from travel. This weekend there may have been an uptick in carbon emissions from BBQs and fireworks.
I would love to have the opportunity to travel by rail, but here in the rural Mid-West there simply are no options.
It is time to stop building new interstates like I-69 and build transportation infrastructure that will work in this century.
How do the catagories on the poll, "staying local" and "walking" differ? I am staying local and walking over to a viewing area where lots of people gather, to watch the local fireworks. When you have a poll about Thanksgiving, try to get the transportation catagories clearer.
