Are Maryland drivers 'the devil'?

They totally are.

Nah, D.C. and Virginia drivers are just as bad.

This is completely FALSE! As a "Maryland" driver who commutes into work daily and has lived in both the District and Virginia over the past decade, I completely disagree. I grew up in MASS and lived/drove in Boston for 12 years. If you can drive in Boston without incident then you can drive anywhere!!! Since moving here I have been rear-ended by a Virginia Commuter on 395. Another time, a little old woman hit my car in a target parking lot in Fairfax. Once, while parked on a side street in Cleveland Park (I was watching a movie at Uptown) someone backed out of a driveway and bashed the door of my car in. From the tire marks, you can tell they took off fast after that happened. My roommate was parked a few streets away one time and a DC city truck hit her with a snow plow and took her bumper off. (Then called a tow truck and had her towed to an impound lot because the car was registered in Virginia- It wasn't even a snow route) After all the abuse my car took, I traded it in and got a new one. Shortly there after I moved to Maryland. I was driving home one night on Georgia Ave. I was still in the District when a DC driver decided to make a right hand turn from the center lane. Unfortunately, I was driving along in the right hand lane when he did so. My new car was a crunched up mess. I had NEVER had an accident in my 22 years of driving until I moved to the DC area. Even now, it has never been a Maryland driver who has hit me and none of the accidents (as noted by the police reports) have been my fault. And why is it that people in New England can make it to work during a blizzard, but no one in this area can even drive in the rain???

I am counting the days until I move back to NE.

LOL, you must be on crack like most of the other DC council members. DC drivers are amount the wrorest. Not only do they not follow the rules of the road but they drive with out insurance (almost 50% dont have insurance, and the ones that do are only have the minimal amounts required by law)
lucky for me i own a 450 hours power Trans Am and am able to get out of most situation with a quick blip of the gas peadle.

If you think Maryland, D.C. and/or Virginia drivers are bad, you've never been out of your state!!!

Try Kansas, Houston or L.A. on for size. I give you <10 minutes on the 605 or 20 in L.A. at rush hour!!!!!

I've been on 605 and 20 in LA at rush hour. Just because the traffic doesn't move doesn't mean the driving is crazy... just boring.

But yes, I'd argue that Maryland has the most "aggressive" driving, but not necessarily the worst. I'd rather get a ticket for speeding and a red light than for rearending someone because I have to rubberneck on 495.

I agree. These idiots head west on 70 and 68 every Friday and do 60 mph in the passing lane all the way. I can't blame any of you Maryland buffoons for wanting to get out of your disgusting state, but when you're out of the city and not passing anyone, it's okay to be in the right lane. AND...please stay out of West Virginia. We don't like Marylanders here.
